Wonder what those drawings are about!

EDIT: Unless
in his 900 years on the planet the Doctor entertains the planet's children with tales of his adventure in a very Christmassy fashion, thus the puppet, and then they draw the pictures for him.
..I've just guessed it, haven't I?

Fear Her 2.0
Yeah, you're right. Pretty sure I read something like that in the spoilers

Also, I'm going to be impossibly boring on the subject of the OT and say that more than twee tag lines or quotes, we should try to make abundantly clear in that one line that this is a very special "once-in-a (re)generation" episode, because if an OP title that drives home how special the episode is draws even one additional viewer from a randomer on GAF wondering what the fuss is about, we've done good!

|OT| The Doctor is dead, long live the Doctor!

Just picked up the Day of the Doctor bd at Barnes and Noble. They're also doing 50% off all British TV, which the special falls under so it's even cheaper than Amazon.

Was a nice surprise actually.

Man oh man... this looks brilliant.

I wonder if they managed to grab the 7:30 spot just because of how much action this looks to have. Less of a bit of festive whimsy than years past.

Hahaha I'm imagining a meeting...

"Okay so we're thinking 5:30 for Doctor Who, how does that fit your episode?"

(Doctor Who team turns round computer with trailer playing on it)

"...Yeah we'll find some time later actually"

For someone that complained a ton during 11s run, mostly after the first season of it when it was stumbling a lot, I find myself really wishing he wasn't going yet. The best of the new Doctors hands down. I liked Tennant but found him a little 2-dimensional over time, he had a couple distinct modes that he switched between were all very on the nose. Smith just continued to add layers and nuances to his performances. I was ready for Tennant to go, for Smith, I just wish some of his writers were going instead. Such a beautiful and full performance and depiction of the Doctor, in spite of sometimes shaky writing.

I'm not ready, "I don't want (him) to go"

:(

I wonder if Arthur and Karen leaving took the wind out of his sails. Anyway, that's the peril of casting a young man to play the part, they still have prime career years left. I'll always believe that Smith was absolutely perfect for the part, just cast a decade too soon. He's still fabulous, but I think he'd just blow the doors off the role at age 40.

lol.

so:

The Time Of The Doctor |OT| 11's hour is over now... The clock is striking 12.

or

Doctor Who: The Time Of The Doctor |OT| 11's hour is over now... The clock is striking 12.
Why not this:

DW: The Time Of The Doctor |OT| 11's hour is over now... The clock is striking 12.

I liked both, didn't really feel like Tennant overstayed his welcome or that Smith has yet either. I think the writing let them both down at times, fairly equally, but Smith's doctor was simply given a larger, more significant part of the DW mythos to grow into.

Did anyone here get the $300 blu ray box set? Just wondering how the conversion is on the early seasons and if it's worth picking up..
