I guess, they never really explained it all that well. The fact that at the end of last season Kovarian didn't even die suggests Moffat really doesn't like tying up loose ends.

Well, I think the Doctor mentioned to Winston Churchill about how the Silence wanted him to die at Lake Silencio so he wouldn't answer the question, so it makes sense they tried to kill him before in the TARDIS. But then, if it's a fixed point that he would die at Lake Silencio, why would they need to tamper with the TARDIS in the first place since they knew he would die anyway? Fucking Moffat. Brilliant yet he gives us blue balls everytime.

Again though, I'm putting money on that the Doctor will have to go back in time to save Though, I like the theory of Oswin forgetting everything because of the Dalek's selective memory type thing which would erase her memories of any prior travels with the Doctor. But that doesn't explain why her name is Oswin Oswald and not Clara Oswin, plus it would be a bummer for Moffat to not implement some sort of Dalek-ness in her.

Also, reviews keep mentioning Oswin is bicurious, but I didn't see that at all. Did I miss something?

As far as I can tell, the "Clara" name came from a Daily Mirror rumour, so pinch of salt with that one. I still don't like the "doomed companion you only get a fixed amount of time with." We still have to go through that with River (There's going to be a point where she says "I'm off to this Library lulz", and it would just be repetitive.

The bicurious thing was one throwaway line that everyone with a penis collectively lost their shit over.

I think the resolution of the Silence was a bit of a mess.

She mentioned she fancied a girl once upon a time in the episode.

Technically, the Silence was never really resolved since the Doctor still has to go the Fields of Tranzalore and answer the question or whatever.

Oh, didn't know that Clara thing. Yeah, so we don't have to put too much credence on that.

I too think there was A Silence on the Tardis in Pandorica as well, but not that the Silence was controlling the Tardis, it was controlling River.

I guess that kinda makes sense, but River was actively trying to fix the Tardis as we saw on screen so it's not like the Silence made River sabotage the Tardis. Would be a bit easier to sabotage it themselves.

Eh bad habit of mine ^_^;
...and tbh I honestly don't care what the Doctor's real name is; he's The Doctor, always has been since An Unearthly Child, always will be.
...but he REALLY needs to start carrying some weapons in that coat of his =_=

I really like these.

I'm getting a kick out of some of the hilarious crap on Tumblr. Some of these people, hahaha.

And anyone else just laugh out loud at how stupid Amy looked here?

Yeah that was hilariously dumb. I still don't feel the whole divorce angle was handled as well as it could be. Too easily patched up.

Amy also loves the Doctor. And we had the supreme awkwardness of her trying to fuck The Doctor at 7pm on a Saturday night. She doesn't need to be spoken for or have a superfluous character boyfriend for her not to get up on The Doctor Moffatt!

I have no idea how they got away with having that scene in Flesh and Stone, where Amy literally climbs onto her bed, looking for the Doctor to have sex with her. Just seemed like a major leap in blatantness, over previous sexual references. It's always the Moffat ones (all that talk of "dancing" back in Series 1).

Great episode, oswin was fine, looking forward to her being the new companion and also finding out how they sort it all out.

How long ago did they film the new episode compared to when she was announced, considering how much of a secret it was I'm wondering if they filmed it all minus the actress till she was chosen or announce and then filmed her voice for the speaking parts and her room, she was after all kept separate from everyone but the Doctor.

Amy actually looks a bit like River in that "hate/love" gif.

Edit: beaten

I actually thought it was River at first, I wasn't really paying attention, lol.

He's certainly pushed the boundaries. We had The Doctor discussing the effects of bunkbed sex on the TARDIS....

Decent episode, don't think it was as good as Eleventh Hour despite all the hype :)
I'm also thinking that Oswin has e-mailed her mind to the Dalek collective & will concoct a body for herself in time for Christmas.

Although it was established in the Classic Series, I'm not keen on the Daleks 'converting' people - seems like that should be left to the Cybermen.
Also, those Dalek nanomachines seem a bit powerful - why don't they just drop them on every planet they want to invade?
Skaro being visit-able - it's never stated exactly what happened in the Time War, presumably Skaro had been abandoned before the Time Lock was activated.
Oswin's soufflés failed because Eggs-Stir-Min-Eight isn't a very good recipe :O
Needed more Special Weapons Dalek :)

Not pure anymore!
I've been watching David Tennants series again and I think I saw Karen Gillan in the second episode of series 4, Fires of Pompeii!

I was a bit surprised that he could actually
get to Skaro, to be honest. I assumed that it was stuck in the Time War?

The thing is, it was probably meant to be part of the actual episode but was cut for time constraints or flow of the episode or something, much like the "Meanwhile in the Tardis" shorts. Unless they both of my instances weren't ever supposed to be in their respective episodes, in which case I am a fool.

The way I see it, the timelock only applies to the actual events of the Time War. For example, The Fall of Arcadia was part of the Time War also, but Amy mentions that the Doctor brought her to Arcadia, in Vincent and the Doctor. Gallifrey is probably the only planet involved that's completely blocked off because that place is probably a causal nightmare and the epicentre of the Time War.

The real answer though is that the Time War is pretty much a relic of an old era of Who and Moffat doesn't give a shit. The Daleks are established as nomads nowadays, Skaro has long been fucked up even before the revival, and explanations aren't really needed.

I guess it was never actually mentioned that it was in the time war, we could assume that Skaro would be one of the first places attacked in the time war to fight the Dalek threat and as such didn't need to be time locked.

Or something, lol.
