Haha I remember people all laughing when they said he was running, even here from friends and relatives here in Aus, I told them don't be so sure, you might be in for a terrible surprise.

I'll say it again now, if you think Trump in the White House couldnt possibly happen....brace yourselves.

Why is it that my friends and most of the other Aussies I speak to on threads all agreed that he was a possibility after the first, like, 2 wins? Is it denial from people actually living in the US? Haha

My body is ready.

One shitty president wont destroy America or the world. Midterms for Congress should get people out to vote if they hate things enough.

Same country that continues voting for republicans in office and voted in Bush twice in office.

It doesnt matter if people hate things enough, complacency is a real thing.

To be fair, when it was the beginning it was as likely as Kanye's claims to run in 2020.

But after his first few wins, yes. People should have been more aware.

There's still people in threads saying "impossible" to the idea of him getting elected. Still! It's mind boggling.
I think that people should have worried the moment he started to serve Father Comstock in his speeches tbh but people are so sheltered this days that thought that his racism-fueled rethoric was going to drop on deaf ears instead of all the people that legit think that all their problems are because immigrants =/

Sigh and even after all that vile he has spewed the past days I am not shocked that a lot of latinos are getting behind him with a "Fuck you, got mine" attitude.

Part of me thinks what Trump could do as president. But 70 percent of me is water. The other 30 percent which has feelings and thoughts and emotions and, if I can be crass, makes babies thinks this decision sucks balls.

Now would be a good time for young Republicans to jump ship and let the Republican party die out like the Whig party. They can start a new party that is not beholden to racists, homophobes, bigots, and the nut-jobs of the Christian right.

Cant believe we made it this far and it all started as a joke

Can we get the demographics who are voting for trump? What percentage of whites, hispanics, asians, blacks etc etc

You're asking for catastrophe to spark change. You can claim sarcasm but thinking the misery of innocent lives is hilarious is disgusting.

Never once did I say the misery of innocent lives is hilarious.

On the other hand. I'd like to see Cameron and other PM's from around the world squirm about when they are forced to apologies to Trump. That would be funny.

There's only one man who can run this party.

Oh sure you innocently said it would be hilarious if trump was president knowing full well the implications.

I dont know what it is.

But when he said he waa going for it, me and my Father were looking at one another saying, he'll probably fucking make it too.

I think maybe because you guys dont have compulsary voting or something, it just seems like someone like Trump can get people to really get excited and passionate about Trump and the bullshit he says and they WILL get out there and vote for him. The majority of people might believe his a dickhead, but are they excited enough about the opposition to go out and vote for them?

I'm not so sure.

Most of the serious people are about saying how dangerous a Trump Presidency would be.

Most of the jokers wanting to see it burn, aren't even Americans.

There is a horrible inevitability about Trump becoming president. From a non-US point of view. There doesn't seem to be a lot of credible opposition.

I can't tell how likely it is that this guy actually wins.
This is one of those situations were I really want to know what the world would look like if he becomes president but I don't want to experience it myself.

Please invent something that makes this possible ASAP, thanks.

Are you American?

I am and its embarrassing because I honestly don't think this represents the US i know and I don't think its fair your "in the same camp" ad a person wanting to see trump win because we as Americans deserve it. So again fuck. Off.

People like watching car crashes too.

If Trump becomes President, I dont believe he'll pull half the shit he says. BUT I definitely dont think a guy like him should ever have power yet at the same time, I am curious to see how far the rabbit hole goes....

I think it does represent the US in reality. As shocked as many people here are about the situation. No one I speak to about this are in the least bit surprised.

If you can't deal with that then stop telling me to fuck off and get off your arse and do something about it.

Yeah, this is really disappointing. If he makes it to the White House, then our country will become one giant joke. AGAIN.

Dude, if he makes it to the White House, the best case scenario is that we're just a joke.

The realistic scenario that I see is the rest of the world starting to move away from the USD as the global currency as they just won't have faith/trust in the American government/economy at that point. Once that happens, the US economy goes right in the toilet again.

I mean, say what you want about the guy being an idiot, but this isn't even about that. People think it's just that he won't know how to properly spend our money. When the economy contracts-- like I think it will under Trump-- he just won't have money to spend. Regardless of what he wants to spend it on.

Like, I really think in no uncertain terms that electing Donald Trump would be a civilization-ending disaster. Historians will look back in 50 years and note it as the swan song of the American empire. And let's be honest, most of the world will be completely fine with that. But for those of us idiots stuck in this country? It's gonna get far, far worse before it gets better.

I agree that serious reforms are needed in the US political system but the notion that Trump or Clinton will in any way bring that about seems naive as shit to me.

At this point it's about the lesser of two evils and nothing else.

Hilarious how just a month ago, he said he'd be at 1400 by the end and everyone laughed.

Doesn't seem so unrealistic now.

I have done my part first off. 2nd in reality it doesn't matter what america is like or how bad it is, you should never be wishing for it to come burning to the ground. You're an ignorant asshole and just as bad as what trump represents. Its that punish them all mentality that has caused all of this.

jesus - i'm so disappointed in society and our politcal system. i really don't understand how no candidate was appealing this election - and how these are the final two we are have to chose between.

i really don't think he'd do 4/5s the shit he says, he just knows how to play to certain people

It's sentiments like this that are the reasons someone like Trump won the nomination.

People who complain about both candidates being soooooooooo terrible have fallen for the shitty false narrative hoisted on Clinton by the same people whose sexism and racism lit the flames for Trump's candidacy.

Get over yourself. You know nothing about me and you're getting mad at the wrong person.

1. The dude was being sarcastic.
2. You're coming off as extremely defensive about a situation in which you have no control
3. Trump is representative of our country because he was the chosen nominee in the majority of states. The collective peoples of this country casted their vote. It's as representative of America as any other winning nominee from years past.
