I don't understand how stuff like this happens. Like, did Valve not realize that their website was going to get absolutely slammed once tickets went on sale? And yet I hear all of you are getting errors and stuff and can't connect. Same thing happened to reddit on the Obama AMA, and to GAF on E3. Is it that hard to prepare for an ultra-high traffic day?

I think its because when you push the button, you reserve the ticket, but since almost every transaction is failing, they are being put back up.

From that inventory link it seems the tickets are marketable, so I guess a lot of people are just buying them to sell for profit :/.

I'm pretty sure the game client just opens up the Dota 2 Store website inside it. It's fundamentally the same thing.
