i played that new lol mode where it's like winter and it's all random all mid but because i only bought like one hero (drow ranger i mean ashe) it's all random of whatever is free and that lady

I honestly doubt it, he's a good hero but he's also very squishy. I haven't been watching competitive recently though, has he been picked up consistently and winning? If he's a niche pick, he won't get nerfed. Icefraud rarely nerfs, and when he does, it's usually only ever the tier 1 instapick comp. heroes or the default first phase ban heroes (of course there are exceptions occasionally, i.e. see ursa slap on the wrist nerf).

So I bought the compendium, pretty neat idea on Valve's part. Excited for them to add some more information in there, it's a tad scant atm.

Nyx is pretty horse shit but honestly nothing was more ridiculous in my time playing dota 2 than centaur right after he was released. I think he had like a 66% win rate. Nightstalker and AM were pretty crazy with TI1 pool but they faded away pretty quick after lycan/lone druid/sd were added.

Lycan is fine right now, also just kind of "average" since his major nerf. So is Cancer Lancer, they're just both really annoying when they're dropping towers.
Also I think Lone Druid does Lycan's job better right now anyway.
Oh god fucking this. He was nerfed the next week, but jesus christ it was fucking horrifying playing against him. Everyone was so afraid of Centuar during that week that they always had to pick him or it was considered a lost game for sure. Does anyone have that Dotabuff screenshot of that week he was released in Dota 2? Shit was craaaaaaaazy. I have no idea how that ultimate got past Icefrog.

I still find him pretty annoying to lane against, even after the nerf. One other stun/slow, and he can do so much damage early.
Yeah, and that's his job, but back before that nerf you were just screwed. I think pretty much everyone here agreed that his ult was utter bullshit when he first came out in Dota 2.
Fun as shit laning against something like an Alchemist who just wants to be left alone and bop creeps, especially without level 6 frosting.

While we're all reminiscing about OP Dota 2 beta heroes, I'd like to throw in pre-nerf Jakiro with his insta-ice path which my friends and I fondly called "gg path". Valve nerfed it within a week but it was fun as hell before they did! I basically never lost with a Jakiro pick.
Which one? I believe they only had 1200 tickets for sale since I was trying to buy them for a solid hour, and was there from the start, like when the tickets were for sale on the test version of the site but no one could buy them.
The Benaroya Hall holding 2500 people is the stated capacity.
Valve is too busy counting the money they are gonna get from all the scalper sales on the Steam Market and avoiding the clusterfuck that was the scramble for tickets.

Yeah, it went from Immortal to Genuine Legendary. Likely Valve realizes it can't be immortal if you can always buy it (Since my gut say the Compendium will stay on the market after the International is over)

In about 12 hours they got 55k increase so thats about 22k compendiums sold - not looking that great - I thought they would have the stretch goal 1 easily. Maybe those store ads will guilt people into ponying up - but aside from the hardcore fans I don't see what the casual dota player has to gain - does the casual dotor even watch pro matches. . .

So I'm kind of wanting to give Meepo another try (I know, someone talk me down). I'm thinking I should get Tranquil Boots and level 6 in lane, then farm Scepter as soon as possible, right? Then my options open up after Scepter: Blink (maybe Shadow Blade instead to sneak the main Meepo in for a poof bomb?), AC, Drums, Butterfly,

Yeah you won't get items. Those are given for witnessing a firstblood/multikill/etc live.
Once they get detection you're fucked though. That's the thing that sucks about shadow blade. And you should go reaver into heart instead of AC. Reaver stats are a must.
Right, but that breaks Shadow Blade on anyone. I would think it would be better to have the extra damage that the zero stats or damage from Blink Dagger. Heart makes sense too though.
The thing about blink dagger though is you have the surprise attack. With shadowblade if you get caught, they know who to attack and keep attacking. With Blink dagger, you catch them by surprise, and by the time they decide what meepo to attack, you already poofed all your meepos on them and most likely right clicked them down with every meepo.
1.09 was saying just yesterday that Blink on any carry is "out" though because of the lack of stats and the fact that you can buy other stuff instead.
Drums would be interesting too. Move into position fast and just net and poof. I'll probably try that out one of these days.

You can hit max MS on Tiny with phase drum yasha at level 16, it's the best. The attack speed is smart stuff too; blink dagger doesn't give you that!
