You can hit max MS on Tiny with phase drum yasha at level 16, it's the best. The attack speed is smart stuff too; blink dagger doesn't give you that!

right right, but that's level 16 and almost 2x the money. Level 16 is also 30 minutes into a match, give or take.

Blink Dagger Tiny is a 14-minute purchase that guarantees an initiator, full damage from toss + avalanche, etc. If you're to the point where you're about to be 6-slotted, sell the damn thing. But it's so much easier to dominate a game with a blink dagger than without. I suppose it just depends on what your team needs.

But think about the situations where you can't guarantee a blow-up with a blink initiation. Someone is standing next to a creep or there are multiple heroes piled together. If you run up with 430+ MS with level 1 ulti you're still going to get your ava-toss damage and you have the added benefit of running anyone down and punching them more than once.

It synergizes better with aghs as well. It seems altogether way more stable to me.

1.09 was saying just yesterday that Blink on any carry is "out" though because of the lack of stats and the fact that you can buy other stuff instead.

There are exceptions to everything. Meepo simply makes great use of a blink dagger, having all that poof damage hit your target(s) reliably is really really good. His 2 second ensnare is too short and unreliable for setting up a poof nuke.

So, has Valve said anything about more tickets? The Venue can host 2500 people, but they only sold 1200 of them earlier today.

Balconies are for the teams, Valve staff is going too, some other invited guests. I think that cuts off a bit from the 2500..

In about 12 hours they got 55k increase so thats about 22k compendiums sold - not looking that great - I thought they would have the stretch goal 1 easily. Maybe those store ads will guilt people into ponying up - but aside from the hardcore fans I don't see what the casual dota player has to gain - does the casual dotor even watch pro matches. . .

The store has been down for like a day though..

Well, I think he was saying it was out for most competitive and commonly picked carries. Meepo isn't competitive and is a rare pickup even in pubs. He's going to be the exception because you need that blink to land perfect nets and be in the perfect position to poof. Whereas say Tiny, TA, and SF don't need perfect positioning anymore, they just need to go super fast and stack damage to wreck people with right clicks.

edit: poof not blink

Got a compendium today, pretty cool and definitely nice to support teams with that extra prize pool.

Also does anyone have any good tips on helping someone improve. Everytime I queue with a good friend of mine he just makes stupid mistakes and just doesn't learn from them at all. He's not new to dota either he's level 30'ish.

It all comes down to reaction time and decision making skills. You can inform/educate a person up to a certain point, but like actual sports if you can't apply it at a really high speed then you are trench for life.
Reaction time and decision making speed are things you can't really improve upon unfortunately - you are either really smart and efficient or not.
Sorry.

So I'm kind of wanting to give Meepo another try (I know, someone talk me down). I'm thinking I should get Tranquil Boots and level 6 in lane, then farm Scepter as soon as possible, right? Then my options open up after Scepter: Blink (maybe Shadow Blade instead to sneak the main Meepo in for a poof bomb?), AC, Drums, Butterfly,
Armlet

Blink, Aghs, disassemble TB -> PT, Reaver, reaver, reaver - upgrade reaver to heart if you got the money

Get BoT, of you got the spare money and feel you have enough HP anyway.

Oh now I think I remember - Slark is now my favorite counter to Drow. Pounce in and she loses the agility bonus and can't run away to kite you. Use your ulti and she can't attack you, meanwhile stealing tons of her stats. Good stuff. And you can always pounce away if she's the one who gets the drop on you.

Also just bought the compendium. Will have to think about the stats sections and consult Dota-Academy et al. to finalize. Definitely going with 3+ rapiers for Western Qualifiers though :D

Tentatively have Shadow Demon down for most deaths as he's a frequently picked squishy hero. Really depends on if Venomancer sees play though. If not one of those two or Rubick, I'm not sure who it would be.

Oh god why me why always me

I play the best Timbersaw ever, get kills early, contribute in teamfights, get Shivas, Hex and Halberd next to Bloodstone, I think I have the highest GPM in my team

And then I have a CK on my team who goes, sange&Yasha, Crit, Mask of Madness AND DOESN'T BUY BKB until i tell him to do 50 minutes into the game.

We could have won this so easily.

A team that does not push, a carry who has no idea about itembuilds... And of course everyone in the enemy team does their job well.

Doesn't help that lategame, timber can't do shit.

Finally got the MatchID for that game:

CK was the most farmed hero - We still lost

How many of you guys bought the compendium?

I didn't.

I don't know why I need the stats / background knowledge of the teams. It really doesn't say much compare to spectating the games. The only attraction is the All-star event but like someone said, it will mostly be iG/NaVi. Oh, and ugly courier doesn't help.

Dude 125% battle points. And it stacks with 10 people.

Such a great idea, custom player armors.
I wonder if any GAF crafters are making any custom player items.

Please can we have a freakingchair Troll Warlord set made of tinfoil and paper because even after 80 mins that is all chair has.

Good games all around with my buddy Floppycarrot along with Loki_demi, ThorKingBei, and gDeciever! Even extended my solo queue 5 win streak into a total 10 win streak still going strong!

Loki on Leshrac, ThorKingBei on QoP, Floppycarrot on Riki.

Is there an easier way to manually arrange your inventory?

Because it fukn annoying having to do it in the DotA client. The click- drag 5 pages - drop method sucks balls when moving 60 chests :(

What other items should Mirana go?

For that match I would have gone:-
Powerthreads, Skadi, Butterfly, Daedalus, Satanic & Mjollnir or Monkey King Bar (situational).

Also who the hell are Rising Stars? they looked like a great team, was really impressed with them from what I saw.

I bought my booklet. So I realized 400,000 people need to buy the books to reach their $2,600,000 goal. Isn't that a lot of people?

Also, the Smeevil seems like a fancier Greevling to me, with those different colors and forms. I hope it isn't so common that no one uses it.

Which players are you guys picking for the all-star match? I wish I could fit in Puppey into mine, but then it's hard to pick who to change out.
