Well fuck, that Panda game is BO1. I would not have put anything on them would I have known that...

Edit: And QPad calls GG after 11 minutes. Fucking hell.

I don't think they care about this at the moment, they just lost the qualifiers, sing was playing other games since they lost. Understandable.

BO5 and losers brackets make for a very lame competition. What exactly is wrong with BO3 and single elimination? Not only does this format really kill enthusiasm but it also completely eliminates the chance for a Cinderella story like you would see in the NCAA college basketball playoffs or the NFL playoffs. No chance for those great underdog stories that make competition exciting.

Going to a 'pubstomp' meetup today in London to watch the games. Going with some guys from work, pyrionflax and cyborgmatt are going apparently too. Gonna be awesome.

Possibly my most satisfying game ever, and only 2nd time as Lycan. Divine Rapier, Heart, Vlad's, got Rosh 3 times. Just fun all around. Wish I knew how to see the net worth stats in game.

You were pulling for me until I went on teamfight adventures you no assist having meepo.

I will never buy a compendium.

Compendium is awesome, it's like buying a memento sporting event program. I've got a few from Boxing matches.

True. There has been a <18 minute game in the qualifiers though, so he can still cheer. I'm hoping DD gets up today, despite having them second in the Compendium. Fear the tree!

Well the "end screen" was >18min. Lets see how Valve will count that. I think they'll just parse the replay data for the predictions, which would be lame. :<

I would say AM is picked up a lot more than PL. I am not at home so unable to see the picks and ban from this International but I am pretty sure PL has pretty much dropped from the competitive scene. I would say Jugg is more common now, but he really isn't a late game carry.

In the west at least, AM and PL are both somewhat out of favor for the same reason. Since the western scene currently is a balance between highly mobile ganking lineups designed to punish the kind of farming those carries need and super strong pushing lineups that can end a game way faster than those heroes can make an impact, they are situational heroes at best.

Lifestealer, Gyro, Luna, Lone Druid, etc. are heroes that are ready to go way before a PL or an AM could possibly be ready to go.

In the eastern scene where that late game playstyle is more common, it does seem that AM(maybe even spectre, who is basically never picked in the west) is more popular than PL as far as late game carries go.

Right, PL doesn't get a lot of play at the moment because fast pushing ganking strats are currently in vogue. But getting both the team composition and the team co-ordination to do that in a pub game is next to impossible. He's essentially in the same position as Lycan was pre-nerf.

He's not even close, Lycan was a carry who could jungle safely from lvl1 and then destroy everyone after 10 minutes, PL is a nuke until 20 minutes and shutting him down is much easier.

By the way you don't need that much coordination, you can even do it basically solo in a pub: pick CK, farm the safe lane and when you have drums, armlet and lvl11 you can either go and kill him or just walk up to towers, use your ult and destroy them.

Hahahaha, no. Lycan was consistently first pick/ban because no team wanted to face him unless they had a strat designed around baiting the Lycan pick.

PL had a brief moment in the sun until people started realizing how to counter him and now he just doesn't show up very often.

PL is considered a safe pick nowadays. Just make a trilane and farm, thats just what it takes.

If I had my choice of a reasonable PL change, it would be that having true sight would give you some graphical indicator about which one was the true PL. It's incredibly frustrating, especially late game, to be completely prepared with sentries/dust/gem yet still have no idea which PL to initiate on. It seems ridiculous to me that detection is completely dependent on the PL and not the opposing team's items or abilities. Detection does nothing unless the PL chooses to Dopplewalk.

Its that in combination with the lack of attack animation on Doppelwalk meaning that you can never be sure if he's actually in the crowd or if he saw you coming and ran away six seconds ago and baited you into wasting a dust charge (with its goddamn 60 second cooldown)

Yes, all boils down to THIS as my main gripe with the hero. Its so easy to lose him in a teamfight or waste mana/health fighting the wrong one. But I cant think of anything to fix this without hurting the other illusion users (Naga, CK, manta pickers...)

Simple, reverse the collision size reduction. Illusions stand apart from each other further and it becomes less of a soup.
