Theres a real lack of talent in North America, pretty sure even if you take all the best players not on EG, you couldnt make a team comparable to Newbee/HGT/Fnatic/Dog quality

Do the people that bitch about EE even watch the way tc plays?

Well to be fair no one expects great things out of liquid, Cloud 9 has higher expectations to live up to.

Also as far as casters go, I really don't mind Ayesee as long as he is the play by play role with a competent co caster, and someone else controlling the obs camera.

I've never felt the need to mute one of his casts anyway, I don't really care how wrong his analysis is, at least it's not painful to listen to. Lysander is by far my least favorite caster to listen to, followed by luminous. Merlini, Draskyll and LD probably the top 3.

tobi on the other hand can get annoying when he gets way to hype or just plain silly (usually when he has guest casting pros, they just goof off instead of actually casting the game).

are we gonna have a thread for the qualifiers or just leave it for the official ti thread?

Tips please. I have decided to embark on a journey to learn this high skill cap hero.

Don't. Seriously don't unless you play with friends. Unless you want to quit dota. Wisp is a nightmare with 4 pubs, you absolutely need to always be coordinating with at least 1-2 people on voice chat most of the time.

this is a pretty solid tip

i really only play him with one guy who ive been playing with for years and we have voice chat and can communicate constantly

there is a reason he suxorz hard in pubs

if you really insist ward the whole map and team up and just follow around the one guy on your team with lots of burst and constantly relocate on top of someone you can kill in 2 seconds who is by himself use it whenever it's off cooldown

hes pretty simple relatively the hard part is getting everyone on the same page

late game just overcharge whoever does the most right click

It's just the culture IMO. It's much more difficult to be a "professional gamer" in the U.S. than other parts of the world. The sponsor money usually isn't enough, and you have to juggle university and part time jobs at the same time. Europe has much better safety nets and the culture doesn't villain-ize video games as much as over here. And in China/Asia professional gamers are rockstars and their pay can actually sustain a living (same with Eastern Europe where the costs of living are significantly lower).

So logically, of course NA is going to be the weakest region. Though Sna and NAR have been putting up some good performances, I'd like to see them actually duke it out with teams outside of NA.

I wish DotaGAF managed a team.

It would have the most roster changes of any team in the history of sports.

I have taken on board your tips, and decided that the best way to maintain a high winrate on the hero is not playing him at all. 100% Io winrate boys.

I would have liked that intercollegiate Dota tourney that is ending up with the MLG LAN to make something. Maybe expose a few schools to e-sports scholarship opportunities. That kind of thing is a much better grass roots movement for athletes and much easier for LAN practice and development. Imagine getting a world class education and being on gaming scholarship.

team gaf only plays in legit tournaments like giantbomb, travdood, reddit, and TBFFTYNHO.

SNA has really impressed me so far, I want to see if they can take a game off EG at least.

USH looks like a really good carry and SNA looks like a decent mid in the limited amount we've seen, and ixmike and fluff just work well together.

For like a month old team, the signs look positive for SNA tho.

NAR I'm less sold on so far though, mainly because IMO Sneyking is like the NA version of eternalenvy. 1437 and Brax have a lot of experience together like Fluff and ixmike as well. Fogged and Korok are good players as well.

ixmike plays offlane bro

whitebeard + fluff are the supports, though they seem to be really versatile as a team in general--I see mike or USH sometimes playing mid and Sna the tri-carry.

Yeah I meant more back from the Liquid days.. I've noticed that their roles seem really fluid as well. That kind of versatility after only a month seems pretty good.

Seeing them up against some real competition aside from EG will be the real test though.

Not play on, just manage.

Diredude keeps putting out really quality drawings for Dota. I hope he is able to do all the heroes.
Windrunner is one of those heroes that I really want to play, and do well on, but every time I try I get shit on.

Can someone turn this into an avatar for me? I tried but it looks shitty. Transparent background if possible :)

You do get that guaranteed crit and dodge if you don't attack or get attacked for 10 seconds. It is kind of nice.

I almost want to try Shadow Blade on Brew now.

Well, A. If you're farming that shouldn't be happening and B. Brew never had trouble last hitting AND C. Thunderclap too stronk.

That shit is cray. Don't go DB level 1.

It secured a first blood against liquid's offensive trilane today.

Your antecedal evidence is equal to saying Milkman's no raze SF build is good because Sanjay won a 1v1 sf mirror with it.
All i'm trying to say is that there's a situation where it was better to go brawler. Of course there are plenty of situations where clap would be better.

Why not? If he had went clap he would've died and died with nothing. At least the Cris gave him a chance.

Edit: are you sure it was the? I thought it was the guaranteed crit and one more.

Might have been 2, it doesn't matter anyway, even if someone gets lucky like he did it won't make a difference 99% of the time. Also he might have been level 2 when they ganked him, getting drunken brawler level 1 is just too crazy.

It was a level one fb attempt.
edit: how the hell are people even gonna know what's better if no one ever experiments with it?

Thats me with Vengeful spirit.

No matter what I do, make wonderful plays and create space mid game, I just lose with her so much. :(

My win-loss rate is an abysmal 5-15. I normally play as a support and she falls of in usefulness very hard in late game. Even if I go semi-carry I do a little better but she jut doesn't seem to scale well a right click carry.

These bts octagons are so awful and hilarious, apparantly naga/pl add 0 carry potential and tide is the worst hero in the game because he universally shrinks the octagon--taking away from the carry, gank, teamfight, push, and counter-push categories.

There's been some issues with it, the 5th pick for some reason always shrinks the entire octagon, I don't think it can handle combining 5 heroes.

Also ggwp SNA

Why do you think he doesn't get the fb with clap? I didn't see it but at level 1 Clap is the equivalent of ~ 2 full hits with normal damage plus he would have the slow. Was he one hit away from death or get some dodges in too?

He needed two crits to get the kill on a shadow demon. Don't think there would've been enough damage with clap and one auto attack.

edit: After he got disrupted he crit the sd and then died.

He got 3 hits in though right? So one clap is two crits + 3 hits from normal attack damage. If he needed two crits he got the damage with clap if he had it and it's more consistent.

I'd have to see it again, but I think he only got two hits in.
