Asks questions so Ezalc doesn't have to
Not enough Lightning, apparently.
Speaking of VP... I'm curious how they'd even make a new game.
They kinda wrote themselves into a wall didn't they? They'd have to do a prequel or... totally retcon the shit outta things.
Wait...Valkyrie profile is a "casual" game and Drakengard is "hardcore"?
AND...AND, they think there's more of a market to sell a sequel for Drakengard over VP3?
I don't want to live in this world anymore.
Two of those three are tri-Ace games though and I'm not sure they lost most of their staff (there IS an issue with them handling cinematics, but VP2 fared better than IU/SO4 so maybe they're just better with more down to Earth stuff?) and SaGa's creator is still at SE and has always been the eccentric, not too widely beloved series of theirs. There's definitely better examples for "they don't have the talent anymore" than those three.Good, they don't have the talent to make worthy sequals. Do them when they get bought out by a better company.
Give me HD updates of the older games though.
SHOCKING NEWS, they are busy making games for smartphones..
That worried me, but now that I think about it... I wonder if it's possible they develop games specifically with some regions in mind, than just translate the rest over as the extra sales would be a cherry on top? Maybe I'm just being stupidly hopeful though, Bravely Default did get skipped over but I guess if that still sold very well anyway it'd make SE give pause to how good of an idea it is to leave most of their Japanese output in Japan.This.
Besides, even if they were making them, they would be developed 'regionally' and we would never see them.
So... the only JRPGs we are getting from SE are, Final Fantasy XIII Games?
Hopefully, they are working on Infinite Undiscovery 2 for Xbox 720!So if tri-Ace isn't making SO or VP, wtf are they working on? More Lightning projects? FUCK OFF S-E
They did do those fairly recently.
Well, this is true. I mean, 3rd Birthday and Front Mission Evolved essentially killed both franchises, but they did do them.
That image is perfect.I don't know what to say.
Good. Means they're working on Chrono, Mana, and Front Mission.
Goodbye best RPG battle system, we hardly knew you.
Man, they didn't even talk about Grandia![]()
The producer also noted that in recent times, it is easy to see what sells and what does not, and games for casual gamers are beginning to decline.
Remember when Square used to be your favorite game company?
Controversial real talk: Change name back to Square, appoint Masato Kato as Creative Director of entire company, restart XenoGEARS, rehire Sakaguchi and Uematsu, reassemble Dream Team for future CT project. Fund experimental projects, i.e. The Bouncer, Einhander, Tobal, Brave Fencer, etc.
Stick Nomura back to doing background touchups on games.
Instant win.
What the fuck does Square-Enix even work on anymore?
Ruining your hopes and dreams. What the fuck does Square-Enix even work on anymore?
Who actually wants another Star Ocean title though? They can't make any titles that take place after SO3, the last hope was ..... not very good.
and with the twist from SO3 it's not like anything you'd do in the game would actually matter.
