It's a no go for me. Not supporting any product that attempts to force me to sympathize or empathize with that lunacy. Doesn't really matter to me whether the game is good or not. Didn't matter with The Last Of Us 2 which I'm sure is a very fun game.
I always try to follow a mantra that if it's something that fits the character and comes naturally from a story perspective, I'm fine with it and I don't care. But if it's something that happens to be the most defining thing about that character, is constantly brought up so player won't forget and feels like someone is doing this shit to push personal ideologies, nah, they can fuck off. I already saw enough to know Veilguard is highly likely the other case

Oh no NOT THE NON BINARY!

Scared Horror GIF
U laughing and using black person as a gif here, but tons of hood ppl have very strong opinions on that stuff, u can find it on yt even when they debate, since they are black this content is allowed to exist but i guarantee u take any avg conservative person(doesnt even have to be american, just person with traditional values which are around 7bilion in the world) and compare it to how brothers from the hood think about clownworld, u will realise our views are timid af still :D

Why not? Non-binary people exist.

Does it have to be in your face like they are trying to do? If you do than don't blame gamers when they don't like the shit your write. This will be the last bioware games and I will hear the crying with why are people so mean and don't buy my game i made for a small niche who don't buy games.

My only condition to having this included in the game would be allowing you to choose a side like the vast majority of RPG's do. If the 'opening addition content' choice was opened whether you agree or not and you would, further down the line, choose to discuss it more - changing your thoughts or sticking stead fast to your ideals - then so be it. Yet, my initial presumption is, this would not be up for debate after the initial announcement, and it's an agenda push where you are not allowed an equal pull for balance. Actually, to tie your agreement to the promise of bonus additional conversations is a weak ploy at best.

The sales of DEI-Woke DA: Unveiled would be the definite pointer towards whether going woke go broke is true.

This is literal unveiling of the most on your face woke game and narrative out there with AAA quality.
If this did bad than I really think this will mark an end of video games merging issues of real world to spoil any immersion.

DEIgon age. A lot of gaming is doing this, but they have included these characters in the past. What is new is that the whole culture we are in is polarized one way or another about it. You don't have to explore it and you don't have to use that character probably. I lost interest in the game when I saw the combat.

It will very likely not meet sales expectations, but woke ideology and pushing propaganda is deeply ingrained in entertainment industry, including gaming, especially when it comes to AAA western studios, it will take many more flops/games bombing and lay offs/studio clousures before clowns pushing their ideology gonna be forced out and forced to give up, i predict we gonna get bombarded with it at least till end of next gen so dunno- 2040?

I don't care about the culture war arguments against this inclusion, to me the only problem is that it'd break my immersion. This sort of fantasy is usually grounded in some sort of historical reality, so this feels out of place to me, almost like an anachronism. I felt the same way about the dialogue and music in Netflix's The Witcher, it really took me out of that setting. Oh man, same with that awful Willow sequel on Disney+ (now removed from the service, woo). But I wasn't a fan of the earlier Dragon Ages, so I guess this entry was never gonna win my interest.

for you go out in the world and there are visibly queer people. do you knee-jerk hate them? seems anti-social to me.

Its like they are coming to me and tell me iam wrong for not being queer as well. It's a video games which punch this weird shit into my face time and time again. If they don't want the non queen audience to buy their game than they should stop the crying after their games fail to meet targets.

It's the same with vegan people lecturing me why I like my 🍖 🤣

seems cool, maybe ill actually play this game

ill be a non-binary character, hunting other non-binaries, so i can be lord non-binary, as was foretold.
per legend, the non-binaries will go into hiding, but my charms will suss them out.
there'll be a lot of false positives, but you gotta crack a few eggs

imagine being an adult write this post with blue/pink hair
just as an example since a few people did the witty "imagine being an adult" reverse card: most identifiable queer people are adults. it has something to do with sexuality, and personal identity and stuff that kinda comes to a head around 15+.

If only non-binary individuals portrayed in media like this could have a laugh at their own expense, perhaps the pushback wouldn't be what it is. Instead, we are forced to conform to their worldview and their feelings with the price of not doing so being your ability to inhabit the same spaces.
the op calls it "disgusting" and "this shit". is there a joke somewhere?

Youre telling me in fantasy RPGs when there’s quests to retrieve a lost artifact, kill a goblin hoard or protect a castle under siege, that a sub-quest for Charles the Cleric to marry Wayne the Warlock isn’t just as immersive?!?!?!

Every type of person exists. Your point is what.
That we shouldn't gatekeep who is and is not "allowed" to be in a video game.
If you believe hard enough... I mean are you going to pander this hard to straight people as well then?
If someone said "straight characters don't belong in video games" then I'd disagree with that too.

What would you have liked Bioware to do differently, to include non-binary and transgender characters/options in a better way?

-2 to Intelligence
-2 to Wisdom
-2 to Charisma

Real talk. I see little point in these scenes as they do nothing to improve the game and create very bland and uninteresting characters where being Transgender or whatever is the entirety of their character and comes across as shallow.

Not a good look for reviews but then again they made sure they were all brimming with positivity so that says much about the product.
