Papa EA is getting ready......
Bioware layoffs before Christmas incoming.

Isn't it a thing where corps don't like laying people off between the week before TG and New Years due to the bad press? "They fired these people during the holidays" is bad PR. I seem to recall hearing that and if that decision is made, they either let them go before TG (like Sony just did), or they hold onto them until the second week of January.

You're right actually, however it's based on quarterly results, EA share price will drop in Q4 because of this and they have to have it sorted by 25 Q1 so they have some flexibility.

They were all saying it is a big success lol. It is from their ccu thread. the copium is wearing off.
I’m enjoying the doublespeak of them comparing it to Kingdom Come as well. A game they banned from speaking about on their website because of “problematic” statements. Lol. (Also, the fact they are comparing it to Metaphor and KDC both smaller budget mid-major developers is just pure copium. Dragon Age is a blockbuster RPG name, with a major publisher…. If steam charts are representative of the total sales…. So far, this is a flop by their standards. They were thinking 12 million sold like the last one… that’s their metric).

It's very sad that we've come to a point where there's more hype in waiting for western developers to get fired than waiting for their games to get released.

Having said that, I can't wait for EA do drop the hammer on Bioware! :messenger_clapping::messenger_clapping: Shadow drop this month, let's go! :messenger_waving::messenger_waving:
Imagine if they had made a proper Dragon Age game with good writing, likable characters, and none of the cringe or identity politics. Would have been the biggest game of the year.

If they're comparing it to Kingdom Come (which is hilarious in its own rights as you rightfully mentioned), I don't think it's the data they want to hear. KCD1 sold 1 million copies in first month and about 6 million copies in 6 years

Yup. I mean, all of this is a bit too early to tell, but there is absolutely no doubt that it’s not looking great early on.

What I find hilarious is retards over on the other site celebrating 70k CCU like it's some sort of milestone. The cope is real.

The #'s should go up this weekend but I'll be shocked if it hits 100k.
Even 200k isn't worth celebrating for this level of game with the production, budget, big western fantasy game, a popular big known franchise, and one where it's suppose to make a huge comeback. 200k to 250k would just be barely passable.

350k to 400k steam ccp would make sense to celebrate for this game. Space Marine 2 was celebrated with 230k ccp peak but it wouldn't have if it was only 115k peak even though that's nearly passable.

They literally could have 10x’d their numbers if they released a game that people actually wanted to play. A gritty, well-written AAA fantasy RPG was too much to ask for from EA.
Yep a big budget fantasy western rpg usually attracts a massive amount of people. That right now belongs to Elder Scrolls VI when it comes in hopefully less than 2 years. It should get 10x the ccp as Veilguard.

Omg omg… lololol.

That thread on Reset. Lol.

Now they are claiming Cyberpunk is “queer friendly” another game they banned from their website.

BG3 did have plenty of lgbtq representation, but it wasn’t at the sacrifice of quality.

They just don’t seem to get the point.

Guy probably tried his best not to get banned by using ambiguity wording, he was basically saying that the forum is on copium with 70k being good for an AAA RPG published by EA.

Yeah he should know that moderation over in Grimace McShake land is very paranoid and very insecure about their groupthink. If you aren't actively fluffing the first world, consumerist, lazy faux-progressive slop, then you aren't fit for their safespace. That place is not a democracy and yeah, independent thought and critique need not apply. It's their kickball and you can't play unless you think happy thoughts. Can't have people punching holes in corporate narratives.

Remember... questioning billion dollar companies is violence against marginalized folks.

I have a very strange feeling that the reason they're now saying this, is because CD Project now is a queer friendly company, so to speak..

If you've kept up with the current news about the musings of what's going on over there it's easy to see whats happening

Ergo, The Witcher 4 may very well be heading on the Dragon Age trajectory.

I have another strange feeling that the whole drama about Cyberpunk
*Cough*

Is what drove their indoctrination to begin with. I'm sure a few old heads got replaced with a more 'modern' work force..

But who knows eh, could be nothing :messenger_sunglasses:

You mean there are places out there where people freely talk about Hogwarts Legacy without being banned for transphobia? No, I don’t believe it.

They don't even call it by name on there. Just "The Wizard Game". So fucking juvenile. The game's probably sold close to 30m copies by now, and these people still think their opinions from the arse-end of the gaming community bear any relevance.
