Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

I just fought the offline Ur-Dragon and he was just sitting on top off the castle being an ass and then flew off. Only had half a bar left before killing him too.

Well I went back to fight Daimon 2.0 as a ranger with a silver forged Revenant Wail, some conqueror periapts and explody arrows and the fight was over in less than a minute. Congratulations to the ranger vocation, you're busted.

Now to go hunt down Death, that piece of crap.

My pawn i don't feel it's a good one. She is a sorcerer utilitarian-mitigator-challenger-scather now. Sometimes i move mitigator and challenger around.
She is not a badass as i'd liker her to be. She seems confused sometimes. She even climbed on a cyclops in my last session.

Her spells are high ingle, levin, gicel, voidspell, miasma and bolide or maelstrom.

Any tips to improve her?

So, is there any enemy that isn't weak to torpor + poison?
Got my Strider pawn a LVL 3 rusted bow and boy does it make fights against large enemies trivial.
Should I keep it for my soon to happen visit to BBI? Or should I max out bow and Dagger damage?

I just finished my first run of BBI, and I always carried a rusted bow/longbow when playing strider/ranger, or rusted daggers when playing a magic archer. Torpor is incredibly helpful all the way through the main game, Everfall, and BBI. There are only a few enemy types and bosses that are resistant.

Apply torpor first, then switch to your best damage weapon and go to town for 25 seconds, switch and reapply as necessary. Or, give your ranger/strider pawn the rusted bow and let them do it. I never used rusted weapons on my PS3 playthrough, I'm a believer now.

Hmm honest opinion guys - DD or Tomb Raider?
lol for me it's not even close. Hated TR2013, brain-dead game with pretty graphics and nothing else going for it. Dragon's Dogma all the way.

Haha, there you go. Same strategy works well for Death, btw. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if several gens are done by now. Whenever I'm home, its never remotely close to Grace Period. Stupid Heaven's key.
Heaven's Key sucks compared to BBI daggers. But I think I have a pair, if you want it that bad I can probably gift it to you. I think Ur weapons are tradeable unlike BBI purified gear, right?

what a stange comparison tomb raider is such a diffrent game, but I agree DD all the way

Yep, they're tradeable. Is their anything you want for Heaven's Key?

I'm a little disappointed that I wasn't able to beat him as the class I'd been playing and really enjoying thru the majority of my game. Fortunately it turns out ranger is awesome and I've got him geared up now and looking swanky af, so I'm way into it. Gonna stick with this a while. Maybe main ranger in my next NG+ too.

This keeps getting repeated. I know that weapons have a larger affect, but it's a bit too dismissive to act as though missing 400 - 600 attack or magic defense won't really change anything at all. Plus, it's more about online Ur-Dragon anyway, not simply beating the game. If stats mattered that much for simply beating the game, then people wouldn't be finishing it long before even level 100. I never really bothered much at all with min/maxing when I played this on the consoles, aside from doing X levels of Sorcerer just so the MA I played then could have a decent base magic attack. The other stats were completely random and it worked fine. This character though, I am trying to tailor to see how it feels, and then the character after, I am going to ignore all but a single stat and see how it plays.

I just looked at your mod, and that's definitely not what I am looking for (kind of feels like a cheat with spells, and having no stamina suuuuuucks), but it's interesting. Honestly though, the spellcasting times in general for the larger spells are prohibitive, especially in BBI. Your change to Articulacy is on the right track, but I still feel like there needs to be a windup. Maybe having it cut the casting time by 50% would have been more balanced. However it works out, none of the spells should take more than 8s in BBI. High Maelstrom, with the augment and ring takes 14s.
Thanks for taking a look! I'll make some more changes and see if there's a better balance to be struck. I personally like having less stamina because it means I actually have to think about stamina. I can make a mod version that has "normal" stamina growth as well if you'd like to see what that might look like.

Might increment articulacy down in 10% increments to test and see which version feels best. The 90% feels like a cheat if you have lots of stamina, but if you only have enough stamina to cast one big spell, then that one big spell is a "this works or I die" situation. Which I think balances it out (at least, it makes me think about when and where, as well as how often, I'm casting my spells). Important to note that the 800HP limit also contributes to this. Near as I can tell, at that HP, most larger enemies will kill you in 2-3 hits if you're properly armored (and 1 hit if you're not armored). May have to make adjustments to the HP, unsure if more or less at this point is better.

So, I'm in the Ever Fall now, level 40 or so. I've got 8 wakestones. My Arisen is a Ranger and my main Pawn is a Sorcerer.

What to you guys recommend that I do now? Finish the quest and get all the wakestones? About the loot people are talking about, is it random loot from the bosses or what? And at what level is it recommended to go to BBI?

I have played this game in the consoles, but I didn't went through the post game and DLC content.

Finishing the quest with the wakestones will lead you to final boss battle (the point of no return), so it's recommended you push that off for a bit. DLC content would great for you now. Also, you can explore the everfall for a bit. There's some great loot there.

But yeah, do the wakestone quest later. This is the best time to explore the post-game content.

They can always do BBI in NG+ since it's available right away. For first-time player it's nicer since you understand the story behind it a bit more after seeing the ending.

I want to visit every room in the Everfall. Is there an efficient way of doing that? The wiki has maps, but it doesn't really help so I've just been jumping in and praying I land on new areas.

So I have been kinda running around in circles, is there any direction as to where to go? The whole day/night thing makes it hard to explore and if I get too far away I am not sure where I should be. Choosing quests do not really help much! I just made it to the main city and did a few quests from the boards in there (non-escort)

was in BBI in area over bridge with zombies. killed all the zombies. all of the sudden the screen starts going hazy, everything slows down, and i get a message saying "the herion of slain enemies attracts some big ass creatures" or something.

i start hearing something big coming, but i dont know where. i stand still, getting anxious cause something bad ass is coming...i turn the camera around. its a big ass troll. its coming fast, it does a clothesline taking out all my pawns and me and laying us on our asses. hits like a truck for 1/2 my hp...

and he goes right over the ledge. 20k+ exp. for free. DRAGON'S DOGMA

I
ed: I posted a pretty shit quality archive of my stream the other night attempting him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9-ZoXZROOY
So I finally started watching this. Hey that's my pawn haha. Interesting to see how he behaves in other people's worlds. I mute all the pawns so it's weird to hear him speak. He even said something useful, hurray. :D

Couple of things I noticed right away, which I'm sure you know by now but just in case:

- You don't optimize your buffs very well. At one point you spent your periapts and then stuck around in the healing aura to regen HP. Of course I heard you say "oh they don't last very long" so I guess you know that by now but yeah. Best to use them when you know you're in a position to spam some strong attacks.
- You don't attack the head. No wonder you did little damage! Climb, climb, climb. If you use the Adhesion (makes it harder for enemies to throw you off) and Opportunism (boosts your strength when clinging) augments, you'll notice a huge difference.
- You are right that the music is terrible. I modded that shit out with the Dark Souls S&O music. Much better. The second form's music is much better though.
- LOL Kuato :D
- Ouch only 1 wakestone, yeah... :D And more consumables can help. Ditch the cockatrice liquors, they use too much space, keep stamina and HP curatives only. [Edit 2; a bit later I see you do get petrified, I guess I never saw this attack or had immunity, but for the record, panaceas heal petrification too, as well as possession if you give it to pawns - luckily my pawn is immune to possession ^^]

Edit: ah right, I just remembered you took him out with the ranger + blast arrows strategy later, so I guess this is a bit redundant now, sorry. But if you ever want to retry him as melee or MK, I guess it's worth noting. :)

Managed to finish BBI for a second time (great boss battle), but I'm not even close on beating Death as a Magick Archer.

Can't jump on him, so the usual Immolation climbing doesn't work and while his attacks are easy enough to avoid, all my pawns just stand around near him looking busy while he does his super-telegraphed windup and one-shots everyone while I plink away with Ninefold Bolt and do like half a health bar in 30 minutes. Not a quality time

I found this one to be really helpful.

right click, save as

Maybe I'll go through the game quickly (got portcrystals in all the right places) and finally do all rooms in the Everfall instead of chasing after Death.

Much as I love MA, I usually switch to strider or ranger for Death. 4x periapts with helm splitter is really, really good, and of course the usual tenfold x blast arrows strat as ranger.

Give me Magick Archer or give me death!

death not Death

Meh, I'd rather leave that quest unfinished than abandon my vocation now.

It doesn't fit an epic fight at all, it's super lame.

Oh well, your loss. Death has some good drops to gold-forge some stuff too.

What about stacking Demon Periapts x4 and spamming Ninefold Bolts with Liquid Vim? That should do decent damage if you have a good bow.

But it doesn't sound tragic at all, it sounds wimpy and lame!

A tragic boss fight theme would be Sif's. Or [Bloodborne final boss spoilers] final boss's theme. [Edit: hmm spoiler tag didn't hide the name well when there's a link, edited it]

This post might help. If you want to see DS4 icons in the game as well, then use a mod for that. Otherwise the icons will be for the Xbox controller.

Thanks. Tried using that, but my controller is still doing the same shit. It keeps randomly disconnecting when using either of these programs. I've been using it wired, have used different USB extensions and ports, and the problem persists. It randomly disconnects every 5 - 40 minutes. Can still play the game just fine without using either program, but those prompts are stupid as hell looking.

I really like Daimon v2's theme. Also I swear sometimes if you skip the transition cutscene immediately both songs keep playing at once which is trippy.

Why do all these open world RPGs lose all difficulty so early? They should all include a difficulty option based around those who like to explore.

Anyone have any tips for using GeDoSaTo with Dogma?

I have the program running, it says "activated" I have the DDD:DA .ini set up how I think it should be (though I'm pretty unsure) but it's not working, as far as I can tell. I took a screenshot with it on, and off and there was no difference. My FPS was the same as well (even though I was trying to downsample from 4k). I have Windows Safe Boot disabled in my bios as well. Not really sure what else I could be missing.

Did you go into your settings? GeDoSaTo makes it possible, but you have to set the resolution (4K) in the video settings of the game.

Shame you can't map the Eternal Ferrystone to a key.

Strange. May be try downloading the different version of this mod until the right prompts show up for you?
