Dragon's Dogma |OT| For the night is dark and full of terrors

Stat boosts get lower as you level up. I think from level 1-20 is where you get the most significant stat boosts for a class, then at 50 and beyond is when the stats start to the lower.

That's what I thought too but the guide and wiki says otherwise. Just gained 4 lvls with MK and got 60hp like I should've with warrior. Can't believe both guides got the boosts wrong, wiki probably just copied the BradyGames guide.

Hmm, something amusing about going to fight Ur, and then seeing one of the three pawns that spawn being my friend's pawn.

So I just reached the post game. Did the ZOMG-unexpected ending happen yet or is that post-post game? :p

You
get another ending when you finish the last quest in post game, don't know which ending were the reviewers talking about though :p

meh my new character looks dorky ingame, damn it.

Damn, I most likely just suck, but the difficulty bump during the Wyrmking quest is ridiculous. Those bow & arrow bandits are destroying me, ugh. :(

yea if you're talking about the bandits up the stairs at bluemoon tower, you could sprint past them to the top or take the other route, the other staircase is safe.

What the flying fuck at the second to last boss battle. Someone tell me what I am suppose to do differently.
I am sprinting away as fast as I fucking can and yet I am killed every time. I don't know what the hell I am doing wrong. YouTube and Google have failed me in this. I feel so stupid and helpless right now. I see myself sprinting for fucks sake. Is there a secret sprint I somehow missed the whole game?

Edit: finally decided to pause at the very start and give all my armor away to a pawn to get my weight down and beat it. I have never wanted to give a game a middle finger and a swift kick to the balls more than right now o making that shit impossible with my build basically.

And that's why I love this game.

Whenever you need to go to the Shadow Fort
just go from Gran Soren to the Quarry, much faster, but you probably don't know that yet? I mean I don't know if you've even arrived in Gran Soren yet.

Yeah, I just went through that place (albeit, backwards). Those ogres weren't too bad, but for some reason, that last one (or I guess the first one you would encounter coming from Gran Soren) was whopping my ass for some reason.

Well, at least I can get the Berserk armor sets... Holy fucking shit these sets are expensive!

That's odd... I've never failed that sprinting part in my 3 playthroughs. Maybe a glitch? I've read about others failing that part multiple times too.

This game needs enemy markers on the map when one of your pawns shouts "Hellhound!" and you look around frantically and see nothing and your pawn doesn't even go attack it, then it comes out of nowhere and you are on fire. I hate post-game
dark ass sky. I wish they would put an update to make it normal day/night.

You need to hear the direction of where the growls are coming from. You can also see their eyes glow in the dark.

shit's about to go down...

I think I found a good way to dragonforge stuff.

I did what I posted on the last page but this time instead of just going through all of them in one go, I saved right before each one, and if nothing got DF'd I would just Godsbane myself and retry. I can't believe I didn't think of doing that sooner...

Now I only have about 10 or so weapons left to DF, all of my 300+ pieces of clothing/armor are all DF'd. Yay.

Fuck, I just got cheated of a ur dragon kill. Got him to 0 health, he flies away. I come back and got rewarded for my contribution. FML.

edit: and goddamn, someone hired my scather/challenger pawn only have her come back as nexus /medicant.

Does pawn's inclination changes from helping other players? I must've fucked a lot of pawns up by spamming the "go" command, they're probably all Pioneer now (my pawn is last time I checked, lol)

Yeah their inclination changes based on the commands the receive from everyone who hires them in addition to yours. I only have my main pawn in my game. There's no way she could pick up Nexus from me.

Uh, good for you I guess? lol.

Lol. I can't help it, I must DF them. I'll never use 95% of the stuff but I have to do it, the 3 *'s look so out of place.

On a different note: I hate the way the enemy AI screws with you -- every time I have a Bow or the Great Cannon, Drakes always stay on the ground, only flying up to do their body-drop; when I was DF'ing swords/shields the goddamn Drake's would fly and hover every damn time!

You can barely climb up their tail because they fly backwards almost faster than you can sprint and your guy insists on grabbing your pawn instead of the damn tail.

I can't stand this about the game. Every time a dragon dies my pawn immediately rushes to its stomach area to pick up the loot (because that's what I do) and he's always in the damn way and he never picks it up. No, I don't want to converse with you, I want to pick up this loot! Get the fuck outta here! *tosses pawn*

I understand they have that system in place because it's technically "cool" or "innovative" or whatever, but that shit constantly interferes with my enjoyment of the game. There should be an option to turn off pawn "learning."

Damm had to start again cause I couldn't get my save files off my old dead phatPS3.

Mage again, this time I am doing stuff the right way (I hope) and getting extra story bits as reward too :)

Also I actually spelled my pawns name right this time as MacGyver :D

It's actually really fun to start over and doing things the optimal way, things like knowing where all the chests are and which easy board quests you could grab at gran soren for quick cash, and selling all the weapons you don't plan to use.

Uggh, the fps drop when battling the ur-dragon kills the experience for me. :(

360, installed and all. Doesn't seem to make a difference whether i battle it solo or with up to 3 pawns...

Totes!
I totally missed a cutscene at the very beginning,
before you talk to Mercedes and sleep to spawn the hydra, the little ugly Anubis guy walks out of the encampment towards Casardis. If you follow him back to Casardis you get a cutscene.
I missed it my first time, and my male missed it on both his new games.

So cool that there is optional hidden story tidbits like this that reward people for thinking and not just following quest prompts.

Damm this game is awesome.

He's the cloaked little man who summons the hydra at the start... we call him anubis (we haven't gotten to the part of the story where we get introduced to him and know his name) cause he looks like anubis from stargate! haha

Why is the escort AI so stupid in this game? I failed three escort missions already because the the idiot escort decided it was a good idea to help me fight bad guys instead of staying the hell back.

Starting over... Not new game plus because I have little interest in being a God. Played the mage, sorcerer, magic archer, and even magic knight last time when wanting to be more hands on. Looking at more of a strider then ranger or assassin build this time.

Which is more fun? Ranger or assassin... Leaning towards ranger, but the counters of the assassin are interesting - not really interested in soloing though

I failed one escort mission and had to restart because my escort decided it was a good idea to stand between me and a fucking Chimera.

When escorting, the only thing you really can do is crowd control the best you can and avoid powerful enemies entirely.

What level were you guys when you reached the 'final' mission. I'm level 51, been on it for 65 hours. I can't help but feel my equipment is a little poor compared to you guys'. Do you get the good stuf post-game?

He means the Elysion.
Salvation head honcho
.

There are loads of little contributory cut-scenes like that you can miss. Just been playing a new char all-offline (and by God, system Pawns suck-ass compared to player created ones) and found a couple of similar bits that I hadn't encountered on my 200hr+ main game.

Earlier in the thread I mentioned the bit with the ambush quest leading to info about where Salomet's grimoire came from, who had it originally, and who stole it. The other day I found an extra cut-scene showing the Gargoyle that stole the letter/parcels flying towards Soulflayer canyon having wrecked another courier that I'd never come across before.

How do I complete
Nameless Terror
?

When I made it my Priority, it sent me North of Gran Soren. I killed a load of bandits, the quest marker disappeared, but I didn't get any loot or cutscenes, or changes to the quest description

yea, i saw that one on my 2nd pt. good stuff.

Nameless Terror Ambush
Locations

Northwest of Gran Soren
Near the bridge and the Catacombs Rear Passage 2

Mountain Waycastle
Just a bit north of the fort

Manamia Trail
Between the Mountain Waycastle, and Cassardis

Ancient Quarry
West of Gran Soren, near the north entrance to the dungeon

After completing the above four
ambushes,
your quest log updates to:

Nameless Terror
Defeat the Killers

The killers
are located just outside Cassardis. Once you defeat them, you complete the quest,
Nameless Terror.

Those assassins were hilarious, they got these cool names and they introduce themselves and shit when they ambush you

but you have to actively seek them out or else they can't do their job right, I chuckle everytime they appear when I did that quest with the quest tracking thing

the worst thing about is that you have to let them live long enough to finish their speech. it feels like a generic kill quest if you don't.

Level 56 when I beat the
Red Dragon

Post-game (Everfall) is where you get all the goodies.

Don't expect too much similarities with skyrim, DD has a different approach, both games have their strengths and weaknesses, I owned them both and I think it's a good mix :D

Sounds good to me! Big fan of whatever rpg style game out there.. Reckoning, Two Worlds, Sacred. Never a perfect game out there. :)
