Holy shit, I just learned that you can lock onto a specific person or body part instead of free auto aim by clicking the RS.

Meet my new character and her new adventure (with her pawn)
What vocation are you going for this time? MA? I could never bear to delete my old characters, I use an alternate account and save device to handle multiple saves.

A little annoying that for me (endgame spoilers)
the weapons dragonforged by Grigori's death have been relegated to uselessness by the weapons I got for killing him. Symone ended up being my love interest, oddly. I oly gave her those gifts to shut her up, I swear :p Also, is there any point in returning to The Tainted Mountain?

On returning to that place: There's most likely some good loot that you missed. Look up.

When you return there, there is at least one new chest that I know of.

Good news everyone?

The interview from 4gamer is actually quite long, if only I could understand it.

More importantly, he want to make the next game as well.

He also said that he would like to make "the next title," and would be able to do this if he receives fan support.

Bleh. I spent so much money on the Thousand Limbs/Guts Sword, and I just casually find the Flameberge near the Greatwall that just eclipses it. I'm trying to go through the first playthrough blind (which is in direct opposition to like Dark/Demon's Souls where my first playthrough was essentially following optimal conditions), but man. I may have to reconsider at this point for the sake of saving my money for good stuff.

I have just been exploring Gransys for awhile and haven't been doing any quests for that matter (I think I have yet to do the Explore Everfall quest) and I'm now at level 30. And I still have the area east of Gran Soren to explore.

If you are going in absolutely blind, just spend money as you please. You'll be so powerful so quickly there's no real need to save money for the good stuff. Also, the best items in the game are found in the wild, not in the shops.

haha this lvl16 sorcerer guy i hired is cool as fuck, I used the seeker bolt on a bunch of wolves and he casts lassitude right when they got up to torpor them, and blearing to blind the fuck out of them, and proceed to casts high frazil before they got a chance to run away slowly

I like how your pawn is like "Is this your home Arisen?"

Yes it's my home bro, stop breaking shit and looting my house

Never really found any cool equipment in the wild around Gransys. Most of the good stuff is at Everfall :)

Oh, and by giving Caxton the Golden Idol.

Fuck being a Mage and having a Sorcerer pawn. Couldn't even beat a Golem and Hellhounds completely wreck my shit. Is it worth it to keep leveling for the Magic enhancing Augments? I want to switch back to MA immediately.

There is some pretty nice augments yea. Should not take that long if you farm smaller mobs. Those points seem to be given more by the mobs than by how hard they are!

The best items pre-post game are in
Soul flayer canyon. Some of them outclass gold idol caxton's gear.
. And he's going in blind, there's a very good chance he won't get the gold idol.

For golems and metal golems this is true, you need at least bolide or gicel to even dent it. If you have the assassin augments you can just punch them to death though. Hellhounds are easily beaten using holy enchanced focused bolt (hold light attack and release). If not, you'll need to rely on fast frazil blasts to freeze followed by frigor. This is much harder though, because hellhounds tend to come with succubi.

Started again cause of some stupid fuckup on my part (trophy data corrupted) but whatever I was only level 14, so It hasn't taken me long to get back to the spot I was at. (again!) Third times a charm right?

One thing I did do, was I gifted a bunch of fish and pies to the casardis bar-lady, then after I got my pawn I went back to Casardis and checked the notice board and it had an escort quest from her on it. (I haven't even beaten the hydra yet)

I've tried to look up the intricacies of the NPC gifting system but so far I've only found it just makes merchants sell you better stuff.
So I wonder if NPC love also unlocks new notice board quests? Anyone have any extra details on the NPC gifting system?

The gifting system is pretty much that - raise affinity with certain NPCs and unlock more items with a merchant.

Just "finished" the main story, whatever that means. I don't know, because there's more going on. Which is crazy, because I was already thrilled to death by the first 95 hours of play.

This is my game of the FOREVER, no doubt about it. For me, nothing else comes close in my entire 30+ years of gaming. The world, the customization, the pawns, the bestiary, the writing, the visuals, the combat, the godly screen-shot feature... On and on. Everything just "clicked" with me, to the point that I'm completely, utterly enamored.

Sorry, Resident Evil 4. I've got a new favorite game, and it looks like it'll be a while before I reach the end of this epic tale.

THANK YOU, CAPGODS. The bar has been well and truly raised!

haha love the effect this game has on some people. It's very high on my list, a Dragon's Dogma 2 could possibly take the top!

I really want this to become a franchise. Next gen hardware could solve the only real issues with this game.
-Resolution
-Textures
-Framerate issues
-pop in/draw distances
and enhance it's best aspects
-combat
-animation
-lighting/shading
-map vastness

On my 4th playthrough and I'm just finding out that there are extra pathways and corridors at the Everfall (your first time there) if you don't pull the first lever. Some good coin to be found, and lots of undead to kill (good way to get the 40 War Bugles quickly from that one other board quest). I wonder what else I can find out...

I am fucking LOVING this game! And I've only been playing for about 3 hours..!

Not sure about my pawn choices; two Mages and a Fighter. I'm a Strider.

I finally picked up this game last Thursday and enjoying a great deal so far. I like how it is quite challenging at times. It has caused me to curse at the screen sometimes, but it is only because I did something wrong, not because the game was cheap. I hope it remains challenging all the way throughout.

Right now I am trying to finish the
save Quina quest. But the bandits on the trail to Witchwood are kicking my ass.
I haven’t upgraded gear for awhile, though, so going to try complete some other quests for some extra cash.

The only thing that I don’t like so far is the pawn A.I., at least in regards to healing. My pawn(s) will heal during or right after a battle is done with, but if several members are still down in hit points, they don’t continue to heal. I tried the “Come!” and “Help!” commands, and nothing.

Is there a way to get my pawns (or at least just my primary) to continue healing?

This game was the reason I signed up to NeoGAF. I've been reading the thread this entire time, and then bam! I just got my validation email! Anyway, I echo the love for this game. I am still on my first playthrough and am putting off the Final Battle until I level up a bit more.

Yesterday I finally took down a Drake.. what an intense battle, the result of which were two pieces of my armor and my main weapon becoming "Dragonforged" which is pretty rad!

I also would love to see some expansion style DLC for this - there is such a huge blank part of the map in the west that is just BEGGING to be populated with more areas and quests.. and monsters, of course!! :)

The only thing that works is to put some curatives in their inventory, but even then they will only really heal themselves up to 50%.. to get them back up to 100% you need to rest, I think.

Yeah, and that is not an option, unless I can rest while adventuring (which I know you can't).

If the pawns won't continue to cast healing spells, at least the game should give me the option to use curatives on them (myself).

But besides the annoying A.I. for healing, I am really enjoying the game.

Are there any substantial DLCs out yet, like something with new areas? I know Capcom said they'd release new content every week for the first three months or something like that.
I haven't played the game in two weeks and would like to go back to it, but am tired of just killing things in the Everfall.

http://andriasang.com/con1ug/dragons_dogma_dlc/

Even if you've cleared Dragon's Dogma, you may want to hold on your disc. Additional content could be coming your way soon.

In an interview posted at 4Gamer today, director Hideaki Itsuno said "I'm sure many have already cleared the game, but for Dragon's Dogma, we're continuing to prepare new play elements. It would be best if you held on to the game for a bit."

Itsuno also commented on the game's initial sales success, saying that the domestic reaction was better than expected and that they'd like to push it even further. He joked that it's probably the best selling title he's personally made. (Itsuno directed Devil May Cry 2, 3 and 4, so this probably isn't true).

He also said that he would like to make "the next title," and would be able to do this if he receives fan support.

God's had his chance.

There are multiple "Whole Party" healing items which will push them up above 50%.

Dear lord... what kind of fan support does he need? Picket lines? Emails? someone killed? Cause i'll fucking go there man ... in a heartbeat.

Awesome. Now that's what I wanted to hear. One thing I really want in games is having control in healing my party members with items.

Also, I'm just at the beginning of the game, for the most part, but I am glad to hear that there is more DLC coming our way.

He also said that he would like to make "the next title," and would be able to do this if he receives fan support.

Hasn't the sequel already been confirmed? He wouldn't do it with that announcement, alone?
