If I find something I can't use or if I have something good left over when finding/buying new equipment, I often give it to my support pawns as a "thank you" gift for a job well done.

Hope I didn't miss out on too much by having the
quina
quest cancelled from doing that
everfall
quest.

Also, anyone else kinda underwhelmed by the damage that archery / magic archery does? In most fights, I end up having to use daggers as the amount of damage my magic bow does is lower.

You did not miss a thing.

This game makes you level up to level 200 so getting a quest at the very beginning of the game makes it obsolete once you even reach level 30.

Well I'm just going to leave Everfall undone until I do everything else I can possibly do. Does completion of the Everfall quest cancel out the "kill x of these" quests?

What vocations have you guys been enjoying the most? I just switched to Magick Archer last night and I've been enjoying. Anyone roll a warrior or mystic knight vocation? I'm curious about how their damage output is compared to other vocations.

No. As far as I know the Everfall quest only fails the Witchwood one.

Thanks.

Man, I totally fucked up the escort quest. Took the dude into a cave underneath a waterfall and he ended up falling into the water. Quest failed.

:/

Still, I'm enjoying the game a lot more now. I was getting my ass handed to me last night. Then I switched over to Warrior from fighter. I'm much more suited for that. Finished off a couple of quests and I'm doing much better now.

I tried using Ranger at first but I quickly came to realize that aiming with the bow is very hard to do with small enemies, especially the one's that fly around or traverse the ground real fast.
Magick Archer has this lock-on feature and the skill that lets you shoot out light arrows is the best skill available. It makes night travel a whole lot easier.

If you go towards the archer path just make sure you bring a Warrior with you that is capable of tanking (one of the many reason why I took it as my main pawn)

Yay amazon.uk dispatched my copy!Hopefully i'll get it by next Wednesday...:/

Haven't even dispatched mine yet. :(
And they still say it's coming tomorrow. I would really really like it tomorrow (will have just finished my AS level exams!) but I don't think it's happening at this point. Shame.

Oh man I want this game! Finished Witcher 2 last week and Max Payne 3 this week so feel like treating myself BUT I might use this time to get started with Diablo 3.

Is the 360 buggy/glitchy like the IGN video says? Also what are the achievements like? Fun or a grind?

love the game hate the tearing

gonna pick this up on PS3 instead now

does the warrior class have a jump/leap/dash combat move like the rogue's dagger charge move?

While I agree that the art style of this game is bland, I kind of like it. It could be an authentic 1400's setting if it weren't for the magic. Seems like a nice change of pace from high-fantasy, overly muscled, dwarves and elf stuff we usually get.

I'm still not sold on this game though, GAF. The technical issues and lack of polish is scaring my $60 away.

I'm almost done with the base mage vocation. I really want to be a Sorc now. Oh how do I get my pawn's health back to full if it's been cut in half? I noticed healing spells wont fully restore it.

You need to use curatives if you want your full health back. I do not know if there is a spell on the later levels that will heal everything back, though.

Healing items will do that. Or sleep at an inn.

my character ended up the ugliest looking mofo I ever made when seen in game

can you modify your character in the game or only on creation?

also I imagine picking presets makes better looking chars

I need money. Anyone have any cool tips for getting money or should I just go kill bandits and take their money pouches.
My brother told me about some cows in a field where you can kill them and sell their meat for 300 a pop but thatll only get me so far.

Found a decent way to earn money early on. Recommended at least level 10-12 with a full party. After the Encampment, head west to
Vestad Hills near the Eradication Site
. There are like 12-18
Saurians/Lizard Men
you can fight there and you can sever their tails. Each tail sells for like 736G each. They also drop
scales
some times too. Their materials can also be used to upgrade weapons and armor. Watch out for the
Chimera
in the area.

They're pretty easy to kill and fun to fight too.

alright i can't deal with the tearing anymore. i'm gonna go try and trade this thing in for the ps3 version, i've had it for two days. I hope they let you trade in a new, opened copy and switch consoles. lord it makes me not even want to walk around in towns anymore.

I hope in the sequel they go more in the Demon's/Dark Souls route art-wise than with the typical LOTR clishes.
I don't mean it has to be as Dark themed as those games but it needs to have more imagination while still staying close to the medieval style they are aiming for.

Thanks guys! One more question when is the best time to change Vocations? I'm halfway done with the mage Vocation now should I wait till I max that?

I thought the 360 patch dealt with the tearing?

I can live with some tearing. What i cant live with is having to squint my effing eyes out trying to read dialogue. It's gotten to the point where I just stopped trying. Luckily I can read that map pretty well so i just set a quest to priority and trot my way towards the marker. Devs need to study Trials Evolution real hard and learn how to make games legible these days.

not even a little. please do not think this - i have the game fully installed on my hdd and the thing tears all the time. i don't know how bad the ps3 slowdowns are but god i would take anything over how much this version tears.

I haven't actually noticed small text, but then again i'm only playing on a 24 inch monitor. sounds like a bigger tv problem? If you're on the 360 did you try making sure your video settings were right? i think it was Karak who has been posting about the auto detect setting as RGB when you really want a high def option. maybe give that a shot?

Maybe I really do need to wait for the (hopefully) inevitable PC version. :/

Through all my complaints, I must give credit to the way they structured the merchants. It has an almost amazon feel to it where you can add everything you want to your cart and purchase everything at once. I really like that.

I honestly do not understand the complaints people have with the whole inventory system. I think it works like a charm.

Just finished an escort quest, took an hour to reach the destination...Now I have to run back to Gran Soren. The good news is that I found a crazy staff that booster my pawns magic from 213 to 390.

I'm in the exact same boat. The game sounds right up my alley but two things I just can't stand are 30/low fps and to a lesser extent, tearing. Hopefully they'll release it on the PC.

Post some useful combinations!

Large Nuts + Harspud Juice = Balmy Perfume (heals 300 HP to all characters)

Large Nuts + Harspud Sauce = Balmy Incense (heals 500 HP to all characters)

I do understand. In any game that has an inventory system, the first and most important rule of thumb should be ease of access. I should only have to take one step to get to my inventory, not 2-3.

My only complaint so far is that theres no quick slots for consumables. Other than that, inventory has been great. I love the buying/selling system where you can just unload everything at once.

it especially hurts with hybrid class. mystic knight wanting to fire a volley of magic then switch to a sword when the enemy approaches? well use your spell, then pause the game, then move left to equipment, then select weapons, then select your sword, then cancel out of the equip menu, then finally exit the pause menu.

would a radial menu have hurt so bad? or instead of both left and right on the d pad being the same pawn command, i dunno maybe a weapon switch? dark souls and demon's souls had that.

Pressing the back button gets you straight to the inventory system.

Thanks for heads up. Took me long enough to figure that out. If it werent for the teeny tiny text in the game I might have gotten that memo earlier. Still found a hiccup though. I cant view my quests, inventory or status from the same menu ( Like in Borderlands ). Which leads me to my original statement. Make navigation through menus as user friendly as humanly possible as not to confuse the end user. Borderlands did it perfectly.

One interface screen with tabs you can access with the LB or RB. Event the inventory listing was easy as pie to sift through. All your items are presented in one list, but sorted with a header by item type. Once again, easy as pie. And dont even get me started on the quest listing.....

Well I think I did every side quest that I can up to this point. Almost forgot there is a main plot...

Because it's so shit lol

That's one of my other complaints. It's not a story-driven game and that is fine (preferable even), but yet there is quite a bit of dialogue and exposure that is just painfully half-assed and boring to sit through. I mean if it's there they might as well try to make it good or at least tolerable.

And no idea why they let you talk to NPCs if all they say is one generic line.

Anyone found the difference between Very Light and Light? My main character is currently running in between those. I think it is a safer bet to just pack my Warrior pawn with all the heavy things since he can wear tons of stuff before he even gets near the Light portion.
