Anyone that has issues downloading the update: Just keep spamming retry, eventually it will work. Download went through on maybe my 30th attempt?
Source: Myself, tried deleting, restarting, activating primary PS4, restoring licences, none worked. Googled the error code, seems to be fixed by...spamming!

Just hit X on the download when it's selected in the notifications area.
It's got the best ghost car implementation I've saw in a racer. Your constantly chasing your own fastest ghost time and that of your fastest friend above you on the leader boards. Having a huge Driveclub friends list makes this even better.
Hopefully that's things on the road to recovery now and challenges get added shortly, and the much awaited free PS+ demo edition may see a release sooner than we thought.

I thought knocking out the sign posts was a bit cheesy when I first played, rather than bending. But now it's cool seeing them ping through the air when you clip one at high speed.

Is it recommended to not start this game until the servers are back up? Am I missing anything if I were to boot it up now and progress through the single player portion? It obviously doesn't seem like a big deal either way, but I don't mind waiting if it means a better overall experience.

I mainly use the hood view, but when I'm going for drift challenges I'll use the Far out of car view.
On most cars (and traditionally in games) I run the hood cam. although this game's bumper cam is pretty good (most games end up putting it way too low to the ground). I would love to run the dash cam and probably would if they were centered, but they always feel way too far to the left or right. For the open-wheel cars (the Arial Atom and the BAC Mono) I've been using the driver cam and that is gdlk with those cars.

That's true, it does add to the challenge. Especially for keeping track of goals. But it really makes the game for me.

Meh, i like Driveclub, but his social features aren't new or revolutionary.
The ghost is like in Forza (since maybe Forza3?). Good feature btw
