See, everything mentioned here is what makes me baffled that some of you expect 70 scores.

The accessibility of this game is a huge positive that I'm sure many reviewers are going to appreciate. It's not about coming #1 all the time. The social aspects are solidly integrated, and the UI constantly has an integration that promotes that competitiveness in club races. The club races themselves are team events that seem reminiscent of games like the Crew, except Driveclub is beating them to the punch.

Couple accessibility with solid gameplay, social integration, and incredible graphics, and I can't see how this game wont score 80+ on Metacritic.

I think you're overstating the accessibility. Yes, you can contribute to a club without winning, but other modern features like driving line options are more often seen by casual racing fans as real accessibility these days. Clubs of 6 people are fine, but imagine two weeks later when half your club members aren't playing the game regularly. What then? Compare that to another racing game which recently came out, where you can have hundreds of GAF members in the same club, and the game then creates leaderboards for those people to compete within, allowing for a meta game within the larger game. To me that feels like a next gen social experience. Even months after the game is out those people who are still actively playing will still be able to compete with one another, and other clubs without doing anything to fix the problem of other members leaving the game.

I don't know man. For the all the fanboyism I've shown towards this game, even I can't imagine it getting rave reviews. It just stubbornly refuses to tick all boxes that a AAA heavily focus tested racing game would. When it comes to racers, most people look at the them like mobile phones. Just an endless list of "features" that have become the norm for whatever reason. "Is it any good at making phone calls?" is just another item on a checklist, with significantly diminished intrinsic value.

I’m still kind of busy with work but was able to upload some screenshots I took. Well…. it does not look well while using the share button. It looks WAY better in motion, trust me.

By the way, I know the screenshots have some sort of black border. that is my silly PS4 setting I forgot to adjust, sorry about that. Its fixed now.

I am having tons of fun with it, although its way more arcade than I thought it would be. I usually suck on driving in games and I manage to finish first quite often.

I played a lot of Shadow Of Mordor in the past few days and doing the switch to Driveclub, control-wise its great. Even though its 30fps, it probably has one of the most responsive controls I have seen recently.

Also, loading times are FAST, I’m amazed by it.

If you guys / girls want to see any feature, please let me know

GAF, help, I suck so hard at Driving Games.

This is the first time EVER (not counting Burnout) that I buy a driving game, I only know how to play Burnout because it screams Arcade, but other than that I suck.

I don't know exactly how to make turns properly, how to brake correctly, do I brake while I accelerate, do I "pump" the brakes?

I know how to drive IRL but I never had to wonder how to make a turn while going over 150km/h LOL.

Even though I suck, this game is great and I can see myself playing this a lot and I'll play even more as soon as I stop sucking hehehe.

EDIT: I also slam every other car that is running with me like this is Burnout, looks like I can get penalized for that LOL.

Unfortunately I kind of agree. And I really think DriveClub will be penalized due to it coming out after FH2. Hopefully reviewers judge DC on it's own merits 1st and not with FH2 being open world & the Forza pedigree 1st.

Try getting a steering wheel.

Also, just play the game, you'll get the hang of it even with a controller, it's not hard at all especially if you drive well in real life.

A full driving line is pretty unnecessary. I much prefer the kind that only pops up near corners to tell you, you are going too fast.


Still if Driveclub doesn't have any kind of line that seems like a incredibly dumb move.

With the lack of a rewind function it just dramatically increase the amount of race ruining crashes that that make you do the entire thing again.

Use the flags to judge braking requirements. They're colour-coded, and from the look of them are tied into the points where you should start braking. This is very much like real-world driving where you used identifying objects to work out braking zones.

Don't hoon into corners at full tilt the first time you take them.

You know, the way people used to have to learn to drive cars in racing games. Either lots of training, or lots of restarts.

Rewind, auto-braking, racing lines...I'm glad DC doesn't have any of them. I'm not usually so old-school about these things, but I don't think drivers assists, outside of the kind that reflect those present in the car like ABS, traction control and so on, actually help you
learn a car or track.

Creating a club is quite simple, you just go create a club and that's it lol. I haven't tried multiplayer yet nor challenging other clubs. Most clubs I consisted of one person, probably testing the feature.

The logo editor is quite limited, though, you can only change these settings from presets. Couldn't find scaling or anything. Don't go expecting something like the logo editor from Battlefield 4 or Forza car editing features.

I have to admit that it took me a while to get used to this, but it is entirely physically accurate - we don't use fake shadows or mask sunlight by ambient occlusion, which often hides this 'effect'.

Under strong lighting conditions and from the right angle there won't be a shadow visible beneath the car. To show this I took a car out into the Evo car park, parked it so the sun was from directly behind and held a camera up in the air at similar angle to the chase camera.

Nothing is faked or baked in this image either Number plates have been obviously obscured though.

Clubs in DC are a small group of players who collect points and unlock cars together, and race against other clubs. You can recieve challenges from anyone in your friends list, and your races are constantly updated with challenges from players who are within your skill level.

DriveClub should have an option to replace car engine sounds with coconut noises.

Then we'll go play other racing games and be distracted because the cars don't sound like "horses."

because the point is not to play just within the team, but go out there and challenge other teams. if there's a lot of people in a team, than people are probably just gonna play with each other within the team and not really going out and challenging other team.
