Where is the video of the night snow driving?
I dislike Racing Lines. It tells me the "right" way to do something and when I can't do it I get frustrated. Just leave me to my own devices please. But it has been a fundamental feature in every racing game since 2006! They had a year and didn't have time to draw a line for the the duration of the race? The clouds must be hogging all the processing and memory!
For serious? Damn.If you are in EU/AU, yes. If you are in the US, you got gamestopped.
DC Clubs are only 6 members? If thats it... seems to little to me.

Pics are not doing DC any favor, especially the ones posted by DrTeflon.
Why is there such a noticeable disparity between that and when the game is in motion?
My cousin has a G27, too bad I can't use it on my PS4 =/respect respect...I go to a friend's house myself to use a wheel, they are really expensive, I'll do fine with a DS4 myself.
If you're even remotely adequate with today's gaming, you'll pick this up no time.
and yay you live in Brazil! always wanted to visit there.

Does the game explain what the color coded flags mean at some point during the tutorial or whatever?
Yeah I hate them too. Racing lines and replay mode need to die in a fire. Fuck "options" I don't want to compete against people who use them. Keep that shit to single player if you are so inclined.
I wonder if they would actually explain the flags during any tutorial or just leave it for word of mouth.
Viveks, ready to take on these scrubs?
What? Yes I get frustrated whenever I can't match the near perfect AI. It's near perfect. That's why I turn racing lines off, I have a particular disdain for them because it severely hampered my enjoyment of one particular game (that I can't remember right now) when I couldn't turn them off. I also got frustrated trying to race ghosts in OG Motorstorm too so I stopped doing those.you get frustrated because you can't match the near perfect AI? life must suck for you.
Holy shit! Even the fireworks cause the dashboard lighting to toggle on and off!
EDIT:
Can't believe I called rewind mode as replay mode! O.O
WTF, that is the coolest detail I have ever seen

I was about to say... first thing I disagree with you throughout the whole thread.
Haha! Though I'm generally indifferent to replay mode, I'd love to have one in this game. Imagine taking all that footage and authoring a club sizzle reel that's up on your club homepage, flaunting each club member and their conquests, sending shivers down other clubs' spines
[re: gameplay options being bad, because it allows for different skill levels]
Indeed.
Genuine question: why is crowd density even an adjustable option?
Wait what??? That is an option? Wonder why and what impact it has.
Was probably at least one pillow fightSeriously, though, no one really knows what they did during the year. Besides tickle each other. I am pretty sure Rushy has gone on record that development wrapped up 9 months ago and they've just been tickling each other since.
I am not going to be the fastest racer but I will be putting in a lot of insomnia hours in this game
PSN nazaire73, I need GAF friends and a club to join
East Coast US NY-CT
Then we need to be able to set restrictions for custom challenges, I.e. no driving line, cockpit view only, disqualification for more than two wheels off the tarmac, etc etc etc.I have issues with a design philosophy that welcomes random superficial elements but doesn't welcome different play styles. It's like a classroom that lets each student choose the color of the walls, but doesn't accept visual vs procedural learning.
why would the fireworks cause the dashboard to light up?
Modern cars brighten the dashboard lights to compensate for brighter outdoor lighting. When my car turns on the headlights automatically as it gets darker, it also dims the dashboard backlight. Likewise when you turn off the headlights, the dash gets brighter.

Video coming up
why would the fireworks cause the dashboard to light up?
Oh god, I didn't even notice that. Such an amazing touch. The lights on the dashboard turn on as it's leaving the tunnel.
Do yourself a favor and send a friend request to PSN: DRIVECLUB-GAF

You watch, a great driver who is not in a club will get scalped by clubs that are in need of one or two more consistently highly ranked drivers.
In GT6 online lobbies i always search for non-Driving line rooms
i mean whats the point of racing if there is no challenge in estimating breaking time and when to floor it might as well let the AI drive your car!

I see what you did there.Sega Rally. Maybe.
Likewise. I'd love to see it get as good reviews as that other major racer that released recently, but there's a lot more subtlety in Driveclub's design that can be easily overlooked by most people, especially reviewers looking for clicks and to stand out. Because there's not 10 different "radio stations" and DJs and open world and huge fluoro things everywhere it won't stand out as much.I don't know man. For the all the fanboyism I've shown towards this game, even I can't imagine it getting rave reviews. It just stubbornly refuses to tick all boxes that a AAA heavily focus tested racing game would. When it comes to racers, most people look at the them like mobile phones. Just an endless list of "features" that have become the norm for whatever reason. "Is it any good at making phone calls?" is just another item on a checklist, with significantly diminished intrinsic value.
:'(
Where are the screenshots? All I see are photos.Im still kind of busy with work but was able to upload some screenshots I took. Well . it does not look well while using the share button. It looks WAY better in motion, trust me.
It's an *amazing* idea! Almost like gambling of sorts, but a little easier to sell to the general public. Perhaps if it was "unlocked" at a fairly high racing level so it doesn't punish people just starting on the game. Needs to be done! You might be making shit up but send that idea to Rushy, it's brilliant. DO IT! < I'm being serious.

It is, and from memory it was even brought up during an interview with Rushy as something he'd not even considered but could work with. I think it's a fantastic idea, and the mental image of something developing not unlike a Fast and Furious-style club setting is pretty damn awesome. And that it's restricted to only 6 people, so before long it becomes a fight to stay in that club and not just join up to it.This is a guarantee. People will jump clubs as well. It really is a completely different dynamic and I'm surprised this comparison with FH2 even happens. Not everything is a numbers game.
WieprzekPL is a polish journo from PSX Extreme mag, very competitive in racers, watch out I don't even have to ask him to know he'll try hard to be 1st globally (achievement whorism)
Driving line is pretty terrible. I started enjoying driving games when I shut it off. You have to actually learn the track and the game becomes more than just a moving game of Simon.
I don't think it has any place in an arcade racer. It actually prevents people from being good at the game.
I disagree, driving line is a fantastic thing for novice racing players and those used to arcade games where proper cornering doesn't really matter. Breaking line and dynamic driving line that adjusts to your chosen path are even better, but it's very important to turn them off as soon as you get to grips with the basics. As learning tools, they do their job well if used properly.
So in that regard, would having the option disabled automatically (if enabled) from level, say, 5 (if we're talking out of 50) be enough?I disagree, driving line is a fantastic thing for novice racing players and those used to arcade games where proper cornering doesn't really matter. Well put. In a very "traditional game" sense, if being given visual information to react to isn't considered the metric for videogames, I think the bar is outside of my interests. This is from someone who prefers no driving-line.

I agree with this. They are great learning tools, no doubt. I just don't want them in competitive situations that end up splitting the community.
I'm posting a new video soon that will hopefully settle this argument. I shaved three seconds off my laptime just chasing ghosts and feeling the track, at times even ignoring the cornering lines.
