DRIVECLUB The Drenched Forests of Canada

I've said this before, but it bears repeating. I don't normally buy racing games, but by god, I'm buying this. It's going to look f'ing amazing on my 65" VT60.

The TV commercial for it should be nothing but weather effects. You'll sell millions.

Fuuuuuck that looks good. I bet they could match that original E3 Motorstorm trailer if they wanted to now. I'm hyped for Driveclub, but now I can't wait for them to start a new Motorstorm!

Much improved in the latest build, these vids were done just after E3 :)

If you guys release a trailer just focusing on the weather effects, showing the dynamic transitions from drizzle to thunderstorm to blizzards while the time transitions from morning to night, close ups of puddle formation and snow pile up, effects of wind on the particles and vegetation, light reflections on the tarmac, headlights reflecting raindrops and snowflakes, lack of visibility in the cockpit view, then you won't even have to do anymore PR for this game.

I hear scotland will be in this game. Have evo released any scotland footage ? !

It's in the OP, the instagram one. I think Scotland was the first area they showed from the game (E3 2013, obviously much has changed), but not sure how much they have shown since then. Don't think it was included in the latest batch of videos?

'Arcade' and 'Sim' generally refer to physics / handling. GT7 would satisfy your sim itch (assuming you have one).

I'll be getting both. As well as Project Cars. Yum.

My daily driver is a Maserati 450S.

(That might not strictly be true)

Yeah, I guess I wasn't really thinking about the in game physics/handling. I always pick up GT, and I'll likely get GT7, but I mean, Polyphony must be thinking "We have to top this???? HOW?"

Edit: Although, it was pointed out that the weather actually affects handling, no? This game is definitely stepping into sim territory.

Time and time again evolution have shown you do not judge an evolution game based on development footage. Who can forget the WRC demo on ps2 or how good motorstorm ended up looking compared to the initial development footage

VT65 user here (same set basically). People say the Macbook Pro Retina screen is amazing, which I'm using to view this thread and these video's now, but in reality it still pales in comparison to the top end Panny plasma's. Honestly, this game is going to be a graphical tour de force and a true showpiece for a good set.

I have to imagine this is due to some GPGPU trickery, right? The game was already looking well beyond anything else we have ever seen in a racer, and then they just drop an entire simulated weather system on top of it?

I'd say it's more likely due to the 30fps. Looks hella real.
