DualSense is the best controller of all time

I'm mostly a PC guy so I don't play a ton of stuff on PS5, but has any game ever really utilized the touch feature? I've never come across it. Astro Bot maybe? I've gotten more use out of it on Steam for radial menus and such.
It can work as a 3rd joystick or as a 2nd set of D-pad buttons or action buttons.
GTA San Andreas could be improved by using it as a 3rd stick to control hydraulics without giving up the camera controls.

It is a different feeling controller, I feel like my arms are a little smashed together or something along those lines

But yeah once you get used to it 8Bitdo is superior
Just got my Ultimate 2 a couple weeks ago. Excellent triggers & sticks, d-pad is sublime. Just wish it had the speaker + adaptive triggers

It's aight, not a huge fan of the face buttons and the battery is kind of ass. Both the Switch pro controller and the Xbox Series one are much better IMO.

I love it, but shit is heavy. Been replying some PS3 lately and the DS3 feels like nothing in comparison (also it sucks pretty bad, garbage convex sticks and triggers)

DS4 still has best size/weight ratio

It's the best controller and it isn't even close, my one and only complaint is stick drift but I guess that will vary from person to person depending on how much you actually game and duration of your sessions (I game A LOT).

Oh, and one more important thing, anyone who prefers asymmetrical sticks is a closeted homosexual 👌

I like the features, hate everything else.

If there was third party with an Xbox controller form factor, hall effect sticks and all the features intact, I'd buy 4 of them immediately.

It's not the Xbox series elite 2. Yet I do love the dual sense. As always my only and biggest issue is battery life. Then they stop holding charges for very long at all.

The quality control sucks, the dpad is worse than the dualshock controllers, and it's heavy & expensive due to all the stuff packed into it.
But other than that it's a fine controller.

I have three Dualsense and they are not even close what Dualshock 4 was.

Game Cube controller is the best for me.

MS " Play Indiana Jones with full PS5Pro support and Full DS4 haptic support, feel that whip thru the triggers"
Also MS wanna play Stalker2 or South of midnight with your DS4 on PC Gamepass " FUCK YOU YOU CANT"

I take what I said back. I said the GC controller was the worst, but now that I think about it, the Wiimotes followed by the Joycons are the worst controllers.

I definitely agree. Im trying to think what features could they add to make it even better. One thing they could do is replace the touchpad with a touch screen. I remember before online gaming took over couch co-op, me and my buddy came up with the idea that people who play Madden together could hide the plays they select by using a screen on the controller instead.

That could raise the price, but it would be more useful add more immersion. Imagine getting a video transmission in Metal Gear from the screen on the controller, or it could serve as an extra UI feature like the PipBoy in Fallout. Ideally it would function like how like Alone in the dark or Tlou doesnt pause the game when you go into your inventory. Just something that adds to the gameplay experience.

Controllers must have ABC XYZ buttons

Can't like this 100000x enough. The JP Saturn is a close 2nd but man these were and still are just great.

The triggers are cheap, I dropped one by accident about 3 feet onto a high pile wool rug, which itself was on carpet and both L1 and L2 flew off.
The L1 and R1 (Shoulder buttons) are supossed to be easely removed as they are hidding the screws needed to open the controller. The triggers itself are harder to remove and should not come off unless its a hard fall.

Love the dual sense but I feel like the best controller of all time goes to the Xbox 360. Love the floating dpad, it made playing fighting games a dream.

I'd definitely put it up there with my favorites, feels really great.

Battery life really holds it back for me though. Would be nice if they could get it up to 30-40h/charge.

I agree. The ergonomics are very good, you can play for a couple of hours and your hands won't hurt. It's only weak spot are the sticks which will drift in like 1 year of use. Hopefully they will use hall effect sticks in the next one.

Lmao sure, 70 dollars for a shitty battery life, stick drifting and gimmicks.

With less money gamesir or 8bitdo make controllers with more useful tech inside like hall effect sticks and triggers and backbuttons.

I guess it's better than the absolute dogshit ds4, i give you that.

I think it's pretty shit in terms of ergonomics. Good dpad and lovely face buttons, though.

Xbox Elite feels so much better in my hands. Especially with that rubberized coating.

I like the build quality of the Dualsense, but the sticks gets the 'drift all the same.

Every Best Buy clearance section I've been to is a pre-owned Dualsense graveyard.

I agree. It works great on PC too! I

except for the battery life.
and a hall effect analog stick for a pro version

Yes, the DualSense is by far the best controller Sony has ever made. It's a great piece of tech and i love it. However, as others have pointed out already, it's got it's weaknesses. It's not perfect but damn close. I personally find the Series controller a tiny microscopic bit better, though. That thing of course has it's own set of weaknesses. The two things that come to my mind are battery life and hall sticks for both. Looking at the Series controller, the buttons feel a bit loose and mushy, Dpad could be better, too.

I wish the PlayStation Edge had four back paddles.

I just can't say it's my best though, the Xbox Elite Series 2 is and has been my favorite - asymmetrical sticks and the 4 perfectly positioned back buttons, all the bells and whistles will not sway me from those back buttons.

DS Edge then is second and Switch Pro is third. I'm not a fan of symmetrical sticks so that's another thing - but the DualSense's features really do feel like a game changer.

My hands say otherwise. It gives me pretty bad cramps. And that's the most important thing for me.

Only the Xbox shaped ones (harking back to rhe Xbox 360) suit my hands. Though it's been the Nintendo controllers in that shape (WiiU Pro and Switch Pro) that have been the most comfortable.

That said, the DualSense is the most advanced controller. I just wish they made it in more than one shape, and if they are going to have back buttons/paddles, then four would be better.

8bitdo makes lots of controllers which one are you talking about?
I use Ultimate 3-Mode and Ultimate 2.

If you want better than DualSense build quality go with 3-Mode, no plastics pop, superior grip, impulse vibrations and triggers, high quality plastics texture, mouse like lb and rb click, also on d-pad. Older joysticks, Hall Effect ones.

If you want better sticks with Ultimate 2. TMR 1000hz joystics, better than Hall Effect, slightly different shell and feel, a bit of plastic pop- so a bit lower quality plastic, regular grip. Less clicky lb and rb and d-pad. But still tacktile.

Still both are pretty good. And both use better joystick tech than Sony or MS.

I have been gaming on PS my whole life. Recently ditched consoles and 3-Mode is my go to for SP games, for MP Ultimate 2.

For me 3-Mode is much better controller than DualSense. And impulse vibrations and impulse triggers feel rather good, I certainly don't miss haptics that much.

And it has the weight, battery life, and feels more comfortable than DualSense, and also has higher quality plastic shell and grips.

As with every PS controller since the introduction of them, the dual analogue stick placement is shit. The Xbox 360 controller and each subsequent iteration if it is vastly superior and you all know I'm right 😎

Hopefully the PC port of Astrobot doesn't require that piece of crap.
