I totally forgot about Mario RPG. Makes me wonder if a game has to be noteworthy or controversial in order to get praised. Instead they just go under the radar? It's up there with the Resident Evil 1 and 4 remake and Mario RPG remake. I like the FF7 remake, but the 3 I listed where examples of it done 100 percent right. I am playing the Alone in the Dark remake at this moment, and it is nice as well.
Persona 3 Remake is fantastic but putting The Answer as a separate DLC for 35 bucks is not cool at all.Dang no one has Persona 3 Remake in their list
Haven't played SH2 remake yet, only the original long, long ago but I will wait for a price drop before reserving judgment.
I never really hated them, but I was expecting the game to be mediocre at best becauseLike I said before, never got the hate Bloober got.
I never really hated them, but I was expecting the game to be mediocre at best because
A. Bloober's extremely mediocre release history.
B. All the trailers and gameplay footage looked meh at best, quite bad at worst.
Glad to have been proven wrong though.
But I still think the asking price for this game is too steep though. I bought it full price and would do it again but I'm curious to see if it sells will with such a high entry price...
I meant a remake for consoles, like the Orange box. There's already a Half Life 1 remake called Black Mesa!
you can easily get all endings on one NG+ save made before the tape.Silent Hill 2 is much more respectful to the original and is a much more fear-based game than Resident Evil 2
On the other hand, the progression in Resident Evil 2 (or 3) is much more fun and the action gameplay is better.
SH2 remake is very too long and gameplay gonna boring at the middle/end (too many ennemy).
Which is a problem since the game has 9 endings, but if the first run is already irritating, then there is no incentive to get the other endings.

No, it's not. It works exactly like it did in the original. You can play the entire game smart to meet all conditions, so all the options are open till almost the very end of the hotel. This is non-sense, I mean.
In the original, if you want "In Water" ending, You need to be between 75-50% health in game, ignoring Maria, looking Angela's Knife sometimes, read the note on the roof of the hospital, listening the doctor tape at the end of the hotel and listening Mary at final corridor.
For Maria, you need to respond or check sometimes Maria and protect her, also ignoring the letter or knife, the audio tape or the Mary audio in the final corridor.
And for Rebirth, you needed some extra object in the appartement, Historical Societal or Hotel and only avalaible on NG+.
I don't know how they do for the remake, but this is more disapointing if all ending can be unlocked with just one choice.
dude, everything "looks like dogshit" according to GAF
Front to back, back to front for years back in early 00s, it's one of my absolute GOAT. And yes what they did to Mary/Maria feels like a personal affront.Have you played the original?
Visuals or dialogue?Front to back, back to front for years back in early 00s, it's one of my absolute GOAT. And yes what they did to Mary/Maria feels like a personal affront.

Barry is better in the OG. Too much of a bastard in REmake, really sullied his character for that particular entry in the series. His internal conflict is handled better in OG, remake is like he's fully on board and has little to no qualm with sabotaging STARS. Rev2 confirms this too, Canon Barry is OG Barry.I still think Resident Evil 1 still is the best remake. There is nothing it doesn't do better than the original. There are still elements of the original Silent Hill 2 I prefer.

The dialogue is milquetoast in the remake instead of hilariously cheesy like the original. Standing, walking, and running animations look better (and are more effective) in the original while in the remake characters stand and move around like they have sticks up their butts. Also, the gasoline flask management and Lisa Trevor interruptions in the remake are a nuisance. Crimson zombies were in the original in the B3 Lab area instead of being a punishment for not using a shitty mechanic. The pacing is pretty bad in the remake as well. The lack of consistency in shotgun headshots decapitating is also annoying. Only real improvements are models, textures, and shark tank area redesign.I still think Resident Evil 1 still is the best remake. There is nothing it doesn't do better than the original.
That's Barry though. Lovable goofball but reliable as they come when it counts. OG vocal direction aside, his portrayal in Rev2 absolutely solidifies Barry's personality within the series. That's why I say OG is better for Barry because his portrayal in remake is essentially null and void because of rev2, which is an extension of his OG portrayal.I wouldn't say he's "better". He's just unintentionally hilarious, which I guess makes him more entertaining to watch than the Remake version.
I won't go as far with some of the things you listed but I am 100% in agreement with movement. Controls are better in OG, much snappier. Remake is too floaty, like you're driving a boat. The dialogue is milquetoast in the remake instead of hilariously cheesy like the original. It does in some brief sections. Nothing like Mr X's constant preying, though. What I hate about RE2 remake is the stalking enemy....I hate that shit. I just want to explore without feeling on edge all the damn time.
Does SH2 have any of that to the same degree? It really ruined part of RE2 to me.
I don't necessarily disagree, but I still want to fight. Where can we meet?REmake 1 mogs every other remake in existence.
REmake 2 is good.
REmake 4 was unnecessary.
SH2 remake is fucking amazing but it's heavily hindered by its technical issues.
Fight me 1v1 if you don't agree.
You think Born from a Wish is going to be free?Persona 3 Remake is fantastic but putting The Answer as a separate DLC for 35 bucks is not cool at all.
When I saw RE: Remake screenshots back in 2001,We could do this exact type of comparison for SH2.
It’s different from the game it’s remaking, which is the point of it. It also looks better than both AW2 and RE4R.When I saw RE: Remake screenshots back in 2001,
I couldn't believe it was possible. Even considering the prerended graphics.
Silent Hill 2: Remake? Is it that different from Resident Evil 4 or Alan Wake 2?
The issue with these comparisons is how different the games are from one another. There is no 1:1 conclusion that can be drawn outside of preference.Even better than until dawn on the ps5?
Nonsense. Both RE4 and (especially) AW2 look better. It’s different from the game it’s remaking, which is the point of it. It also looks better than both of them.
The Dead Space remake also.Nah, RE2, RE4 and Demon Souls are still top 3.
THEY FUCKING LOOK LIKE THE FUCKING VOICE ACTRESSES SEEK FUCKING HELPFront to back, back to front for years back in early 00s, it's one of my absolute GOAT. And yes what they did to Mary/Maria feels like a personal affront.

Silent Hill is a layered and deep psychological horror. It’s crazy but not ‘crazy’. Think Jacob’s Ladder. Tonally it’s the complete opposite of Resident Evil (and so much better). Control was very pedestrian. As someone that follows SCP stuff it was excruciatingly unimaginative, but that’s just me.
My favorite of all the Uncharteds! Hell yeah! And I'm over here just praying god this happens to Uncharted: Drake's Fortune one of these days.
