Fair enough, but it doesn't really change anything I've said, personally. I have my own reasons for speculating the BOMs & production costs (with everything like assembly, shipping and marketing factored in) could push total production costs to at least north of $550 (if not closer to $600) for both PS5 and Series X.
Just like how I have a good feeling Series S is probably selling at a loss of about $100 if not a tiny bit more with the same things factored in.

That guy was busted spreading fake insider info to destroy PS5 hype cause he felt the amount of "bad press MS is getting" is not justified. He afaik was banned from that other forum for that, no idea why people keep posting this obvious non-news guy on here 24/7.
It wasn't fake info, he even doubled down on it. He did say he had motive but fake it was not.

Fake info....about BOM Well, that's just his opinion. But Bloomberg, which has far more insight in gaming industry and technology overall and it is far more reliable than Dusk said that PS5 BOM is up to 450$. And fact is, RAM price went down since then.

Why are you quoting PC part prices for? PS5 doesn't use the fastest SSD or chips. It's the controller and 12 lanes and 6 priority levels that make the SSD fast.

I still think they should price the disk model above the XsX. It makes a statement that it is a premium system. They have a fan base that is willing to pay for it. It will sell out for months with very few unique games available for it. How many people will really choose XSX over PS5 in the first year based on price alone?

You are only 1/2 right. You are saying multiple things. Yes it's true he was let go from being a mod on resetera for "insert any speculation here". Yes it's true that he admitted to having motivation (which you are mentioning) for what he posted but he also said that, how he explained it, that the info was still true from about the ps5 struggling at 4k with performance on Resident Evil Village from what he was told. He also said that he believed that the current performance issues would be resolved on the Ps5 by the time the games was released. That's different.

Just wanted to point that a console being 499 or 599 is not that expensive considering today's market. I do also think 499 is the absolute max they should be charging.
