Notables:

(Riddick is a true "unrated" edition, with fifteen extra minutes. I want to believe that the new footage redeems the movie, but somehow I'm not sure.)

(This box has seasons 1-2; there's another box with the rest of the episodes. One of the reviewers at Amazon claims that TV Shows on DVD has said that a box of all five seasons is coming out in 2005 with commentary by Reubens, whereas these sets have no commentary. I can't verify this one way or the other right now.)

According to DVD Talk and DVD IGN... yes.

The 2000 release had an excellent visual treatment, but this release features an all-new digital transfer that preserves the film's original aspect ratio of 2.35:1. While there wasn't much wrong with the old disc, this one is ever-so-slightly better.

AND

The packaging boasts an all-new digital transfer. Well, the original release looked mighty good, especially given it was pressed in 2000, when DVD was still in the early stages. This new transfer is a hint better, but it's nothing revolutionary since the old one wasn't that bad.

Pee Wee's Playhouse is getting another release next year with special features. Reubens said on Letterman last week that they are in the process of recording all of the extras, and the next set will be released this time next year.
