Where is this from?

thanks for all the great work treehouse. amazing in-depth demos with genuine enthusiasm and personality. loved following it.

it's actually ridiculous how much more i now know about nintendo's upcoming games than everyone elses, it made nintendo dominate my experience of e3 even though i like all the systems

can't wait till next year. i'm going to watch a few of the sections i missed on the archive because i don't want to lose it just yet.

Nintendo CANNOT do any other format from now until the end of time. This is their best vehicle.

Goddamn that Splatoon free for all is just incredible. :lol

That was the best E3 presentation I've experienced here at home. The best part was the showing of the games in particular Splatoon and Captain Toad. :)

One last thought for future Treehouse Lives:

"We're demoing indie games now; if we hit 300,000 viewers over the next hour, we'll give you a live never-before-seen gameplay demo of the new Zelda"

Tell. Your. Friends!"

The indie titles get increased exposure, word of mouth goes nuts, twitter trends happen, dogs and cats living together.

I kid, somewhat, but I do think the next step is increased interactivity of some sort.

This is definitely the format for the future. Fuck 1 hour presentation and then bits and pieces. Just a continuous stream with some focused bits

They have Bayonetta wearing Peach's dress. It's a brave new world. And the fact that Aonuma encouraged them to remove the undershirt for the Link costume.

I'm aware of that, but they don't put very much focus on it, not in interviews or on the mini site or anything. Bayonetta is "Magic Nekkid Dominatrix The Game", does it really feel like Nintendo is honestly presenting it as such? Or are they trying to present it in a more innocent light? As far as how it's presented, they seem to be focusing on the easier to swallow aspects of the game, like the combat, while downplaying the sexual aspect.

They'll come out and say the game is brutal, but they won't find them saying Bayonetta is sexy, or anything like that. "Sexy" is bad news. But a fighting game is innocent fun. They'll make nods here and there to Bayonetta's "saucy style", but only in the safest and most dignified way possible. Calling Bayonetta saucy, that gels with Nintendo's image. It's not too racy a thing to say.

Did you see the Twitch chat? The last thing they need is viewer interactivity.

Yeah Nintendo has to do this for every E3, thanks a ton for this Nintendo! Its sad to see it come to an end :( but I loved the ride.

Just want to echo the sentiment:

Never had so much fun following game announcements and interviews as I did with Treehouse. Hope Nintendo keeps this format.

I need to share my feelings since this thing is all over. I turned 32 this year and still love gaming as much as ever. I play everything! but Nintendo has always had a special place in my heart. My first console was an NES. I want to personally thank Nintendo for making this E3 really special. The treehouse stream was all I consumed for 3 days. I loved it. This sounds really lame but it sure felt like Nintendo turned a corner this year. It felt like magic. While other conferences were being criticized for severed head counts vs females. Nintendo was putting on a fucking amazing show that just made you feel good. I could go on and on about this. Nintendo gave me some amazing memories.

Gaf did too. Watching the stream with Gaf was something special for sure.

See you guys next year!

Right there with ya.

(Raises glass)

I've never cared that much for E3, I usually watched the conferences, saw the leaks and some of the previews and got back with my normal life.

This year, though, I couldn't manage to close the Treehouse stream. It was the best thing to happen in my opinion. I hope Nintendo does this again next year, because this is exactly what I wanted from E3, but didn't knew it yet.

Excellent post.

I might consider taking the full set of Treehouse days off next year (just as long as I don't burn through almost two weeks of PTO being sick in the first quarter again, ugh).

I really loved what Nintendo did this year with the Treehouse coverage of games this year. A bunch of down to earth people demoing games for three days straight and having fun as well? Amazingly done. It'd be great if they did something similar during Nintendo directs but maybe there's not enough time for that.

Oh yes. After watching the Day 0 conferences I was filled with negativity towards both the gaming industry and E3 itself, but Nintendo really changed that. This was the best E3, especially because I could feel close to them, being here at home watching it. I don't even have words to say how great this was, and I'm really sad it's ending.

I really wanted to interact more in this thread but with how fast it was going my browser could just not keep up :C

But that was such an amazing conference that I really want Nintendo to do this again next year. Constantly engaged, many memorable moments, lots of great quotes, lots of video games. I loved every moment.

Great job treehouse, you guys made this the best E3 in a long, long time

forget the pre-rendered CGI trailers, hours and hours of entertaining, in-depth gameplay wins.

The treehouse was, hands down, Nintendo's best idea this E3. I'll miss watching it a lot :/ .

But I'm sure that, given the positive response, we will have another one next year. So it's another thing to look forward to!

If anyone even cared to notice, Nintendo's E3 effort this year was probably the best of any exhibitor in E3 history. Between their fun (in contrast to everyone else) Digital Event and their three days of constant, but never overbearing, Treehouse stream, they totally nailed it.

Take notice, this is a how a company fights and punches its way back off the ropes.

Exact same feelings. I was kind of depressed after Day 0. So much cynicism and violence can really suck the energy out of you.
