So everyone's been assuming MGSV will be at Sony's conference, but looking at Geoff Keighley's E3 schedule, the new 6 minute trailer is set to appear at MS' conference.

Yeah, it was fun to riding the hype train with y'all with a lot of good discussion even I don't really participated with y'all that much! :)

Your countdown was a nice contribution.

And we have slightly confirmatory tweets that they will be there.

whereas for Bend I am highly doubtfull.

We had a big tweet about Bend but I am not sure either. It could be a Paris game.

I'm getting the feeling Nintendo will be very light this year, which I suppose isn't surprising since last year seemed to be a blowout year, I'm expecting a number of re-reveals and a lot of Amiibo. Not really sure what I expect from MS and Sony, probably a normal year of AAA, long-term vaporware trailers with 1 or 2 interesting games. Sony's conference will be an hour too long as usual. I guess I'm expecting the most middling E3 in quite some time. It feels like a hump year and of course everyone is jumping out to mobile or poorly transitioning to VR (those tech demos are fine but I have not seen an actual game I'd play more than once).

Post E3-2014/2015 in as so far has been releases/announcements from a lot of collaborations, small sub-groups, or farmed out projects/IP. Obviously there was Mario Kart 8 from EAD proper as a huge title.

  • Of things released: XCX was MSoft, Splatoon was from Garage, Toad was from a small group within EAD-proper, Kirby&RC was from HAL, Smash was from Bamco and Sora (Sakurai), and HyWa/FF5 were from KT.
  • Of those to come: Yoshi is Good Feel, D3rd is Valhalla (with SPD assisting), #FE is with an all-star line-up at Atlus, EAD-4 is working on Mario Maker, and EAD-5 is on Star Fox.
There's been a lot of silence, otherwise, from their other developers and studios. And since Nintendo likes to keep their cards close to their chest, we've gotten nothing for leaks aside from KT's HyWa 3DS port as a leak. Not a word on what is going on with their major internal and external studios, but their obviously doing something. Retro, NLG, and various EAD sections have been quiet for a long, long time now. Also we don't seem to have much in the way of insiders spilling the beans/teasing on everything Sony from Nintendo to fuel GAFHype, so... ya. Kind of lopsided.

Microsoft is seemingly keeping their cards close to their chest as well to some degree, and Sony's clogged up the airwaves with leaks/reveals/tweets to drum up hype. Third party has been doing its own thing, fighting for attention. Its not unusual, in such an environment, for Nintendo's quietness to make them seem empty handed. But the reality of it will have to wait 'till next week, obviously.

Obviously with their lacking third party support, at the end of the day, they'll have the least of the three in grand sum. That much is already written in stone.

Last year overall the press conferences were kind of meh. Microsoft's was extremely average. EA's was awful. I actually don't remember from Ubisoft's press conference except for Rainbow Six: Siege. Sony's was decent but didn't have much 1st party stuff (plus only a tease of Uncharted 4). Nintendo's was probably the best but I wasn't feeling their Super Smash Bros reveals (should have revealed PAC-MAN in their direct). Plus very little of what they showed released in 2014.

Sony are doing MGS5 bundles. You really think they want to let to their competitor have the last major marketing push before release?

My predictions for the Sony conference:
  • New Destiny DLC reveal
  • Another Uncharted 4 stage demo/ trailer
  • The Last Guardian trailer
  • (LOTS OF) Project Morpheus
  • Gran Turismo 7 teaser (for end of 2016)
  • Guerrilla Games new RPG (in trailer form)
  • God of War 4 teaser
  • Gravity Rush 2 announced for PS4
  • Star Wars Battlefront extended gameplay trailer (I assume some gameplay will be shown at the EA conference)
  • Trailer for Media Molecule's new title (Morpheus)
  • No Man's Sky stage demo (again)
  • Street Fighter V new characters reveal
  • 1TB PS4, with 500GB PS4 having a $50 price reduction

This sounds very realistic apart from TLG.

This would be amazing, you forgot Bloodborne DLC though.

Scott Rhode visited Bend about two weeks ago or so. I bet Bend will be there.

There's just too much stuff, something is not right:

Horizon
bend
Media Molecule
Level 5

Hmm, there is no chance with these games and all the third party content that TLG will also appear.

Add in the Level 5 exclusive and persona 5 and yea, this is what i am leaning towards too.

Seems the disappointment-train is incoming.
But of course there will be like 6 new 1st-party reveals (including almost every big studio they have) and only two multiplats... ;)

Horizon is pretty much guaranteed. Bend's game has been in development for so long that they should have at least something to show by now. Media Molecule will probably show something during the Morpheus segment. I really hope Level 5's new game is there (I want Ni No Kuni 2) but I think either Persona 5 or Level 5's game will be shown, not both.

I don't think Sony will reveal all that much for E3. Maybe 3 or so major new title announcements, but don't forget that they are having their own conference later this year at Paris and then there's also TGS and PSX.

No point putting all their cards out too early.

I agree with this.

This is pretty much it right here, just remove GG's game and TLG.

Seems pretty realistic and it would be a really good conference.

I hope they present Morpheus in a much better way then Oculus did with Rift.

We need a price and a release date.

I missed all the neogaf® gifs, can someone post again the best ones from this thread.

it's not the same without the gifs you know

^this post totally got ignored. :_(

Depending on how many 3rd party collaborations Sony is working on they could show a lot at E3(3 or 4 big games) and still have plenty left for the other shows.

With there being more events this year I can see more first party stuff than usual. Destiny DLC and Battlefront are pretty much givens. I don't think we'll see anything from Ubisoft at their press conference this year. I hope MGSV isn't there since it's only a few months away (same with Batman: Arkham Knight).

My Sony Predictions:

  • No Man's Sky dated for Holiday 2015. No trailer or demo, just playable on show floor.
  • The Witness dated for September 2015. Same as above.
  • The Last Guardian trailer followed by stage demo. Announced for Fall 2015.
  • Gran Turismo Sport announced for 2016.
  • PS Plus version of DriveClub available today! "So sorry for the delay", but they've expanded the scope of the game and reduced the upgrade cost as an apology.
  • Rime confirmed for an Early 2016 release date.
  • Ubisoft announces exclusive/early Rainbow Six Seige BETA for PS4.
  • EA does same for Battlefront.
  • Level 5 RPG announced. No date. It's a new IP.
  • Geurilla Games shows their new IP. 2016.
  • thatgamecompany announces their next title. Will be "first on PlayStation". Journey on PS4 launches during conference.
  • Goddess of War announced with realtime trailer from Santa Monica Studios. Female Protagonist, new setting. "Late 2016".
  • Call of Duty partnership announced. DLC will not be delayed for Xbox, but there will be a PS4 bundle for holidays and exclusive maps on PlayStation platforms.
  • Red Dead sequel announced from Rockstar with a trailer.
  • Three new Morpheus games revealed. One from London, One from Media Molecule and One from an independent studio.
  • Service area for PlayStation Vue expanded to a dozen more cities.
  • 1TB PS4 revealed. Priced at $349. Remaining stock of 500GB consoles to be sold for $299.
  • Vita price dropped to $99 with a 16GB card. Ongoing support illustrated with a montage of cross-buy indie games and more Japanese imports.

But but The Last Guardian will be shown
:'(

I thought From said that the DLC wasn't going to be at E3? Or I'm just imagining things.

True, I forgot about Persona 5 I'm sure that will be there as well.

Yeah definitely, a price needs to be announced. I'm thinking Mid 2016 for its release date.

I think we need start talking what games that confirmed or most likely WON'T be at E3 to lower the hype.

-Cory Barlog game.
-Sony Bend game.
-...what else?

Zomg! Demonite! Quick, analyze his post for hints:-)
"Great" = GRrand Turismo
"Job" = Joggle Our Bombs =meaning they are joggling which to show first
"Keeping"= time for them to show their promises that they were keeping
"IT"= It's Time
"Up"= the bird is "up"

":)" = Bandicoot Smile

:P

I've given it some thought and I think I've finally settled on my final predictions. I think this is largely realistic, with a little bit of wishful thinking.
sbip

A nice set except for a new big Mario game. Unless it is a DLC or sidescroller, you won't be seeing a 3D/ big budget Mario game until next generation. Remaster could happen perhaps.

What would it take for you to consider this E3 a success, everyone?

For me:

- Banjo Threeie is real and looks amazing
- Horizon is shown and contains laser dinosaurs
- Nintendo have a new big-hitter shown (Metroid Prime 4 probably, but not necessarily)
