E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

I doubt it, especially a Remaster and not in 2015.

Maybe 2015 is a bad choice, but I think MS would rather that bad choice of a "Gears every year" instead of "2 Gears in one calendar year"

MCC would've been better off delayed, but I think they don't want to be seen as having two big Halo releases in a year.

I'll jump on the hype ranking thing.

1.) Sony - no contest really. Horizon, The Tomorrow Children, possibility of TLG coming back to save the world, Level 5 JRPG, Rime, The Witness potentially, seeing more of No Mans Sky, seeing Ratchet and Clank which def. hasn't been rushed at all, seeing more Uncharted 4, Until Dawn, Sreet Fighter 5, Persona 5, etc.

2.) Microsoft - not really interested in many other conferences. MS has Scalebound though, which is one of the few other games at the conferences I'm interested in seeing more of.

3.) Square-Enix - meh. Dunno what to expect but could see more of Star Ocean 5 and Kingdom Hearts 3. SE always has the potential to put on a good show though. And well, first time for their own conference sooooo. Could be hilariously bad, could be good!

4.) EA - more Star Wars: Battlefront and hopefully we see a little of that single player adventure Star Wars game maybe. There is also Mass Effect. Didnt really like 2 or 3 but it is atleast good looking, and in space. A powerful mixture. If Mirrors Edge 1 was any good I could get hyped for 2, but yeh .. ME1 sucked.

5.) Nintendo - potentially could see Star Fox. Hopefully will see a new Metroid.

6.) Bethesda. Will they show Elder Scrolls 6 this year? I hope so.

7.) PC - didn't even know this was a thing. Star Citizen!

8.) Ubisoft - can't think of anything here. cant really think of why they need their own conference. Atleast they are smart and get the best host of the conferences. Guess the best wish would be to see Child of Light 2 and other games using the UbiArt(?) engine.

1. Sony
2. Microsoft
3. Square-Enix
4. The Rest
5. Nintendo

I can't muster any excitement for Nintendo unless Metroid is there. As a Wii U owner, it's becoming pretty sad the disconnect between me and most Nintendo titles. This will be the test for whether or not I keep the Wii U or sell it off.

Sony at the top because I love Japanese games. MS at 2 because of Quantum Break but otherwise, I'd have SE up there.

Again, a Remaster. The real Sequel is another Story. But if you are expecting that a remaster is going to sell like hot cakes this year you are in for a disappointment IMO

I never said I expect it'll sell a crazy amount, but I think it'll do well. Come on, it's a remake of the original Gears Of War. Anyone who thinks that will do poorly doesn't really know what they're talking about.

This year seems more like a second big 3rd Party show. Most surprises? Wasnt like that the last couple of years to me.

They have a long show though, and they will have to reveal the new Sony Bend, Guerrilla, Quantic Dream and Media Molecule IP one day. Of course they will spread these over different events, but we'll get at least one of those at E3 would be my guess. And with Gamescom out of the way, Sony might show some of their quirkier titles at E3 (games in the vein of The Tomorrow Children, Rime and WiLD). And then there is Sony Japan, who might have some tricks up their sleeve.

But to be fair, surprises are only thing, awesome gameplay demos another. If Uncharted 4 delivers on that front, it's alreay a succes for me.

I also hope we'll get a Bloodborne DLC announcement.

Thing is, Sony could do all kinds of things, which makes it kinda interesting by default.

1. Sony
I only have a PS4 and a Vita, so this one seems a little obvious. I'm really excited to see UC4, Rime, Warner's exclusive (if it shows up), and some major exclusive announcements. Horizon especially sounds amazing if they can pull it off.
2. Ubisoft
I know it's blasphemy these days, but I like the majority of what Ubi puts out. Watch Dogs had problems, but I liked it enough to want to see the sequel; Syndicate looks good, but so did Unity, so I'm not sold yet; The Division looks amazing, but I want to hear some real hands-on impressions first; the Rayman games are amazing, and I would love to see another one; and I can't wait to see what their big announcement is, especially if it's this open world RPG. They seem like a big wild card.
3. EA
Visceral's game. EA Canada's game. Give it to me.
4. Bethesda
I only had a PS3 last gen, so while I've heard how great their games are, I've never played any (except for Dishonored, weirdly enough). I want remasters of Fallout and Skyrim so badly it's unbelievable.
5. Nintendo
It's freaking Nintendo. I grew up with these guys. I would love to see a Wii U price drop to get me on board, and to see if they have a Galaxy equivalent.
6. Microsoft
Just from an industry perspective, I want to see what they've got. This side of the business fascinates me, so I'll almost watch this one academically. Plus, a good third party announcement usually comes at this that I might enjoy.
7. Square
Deus Ex looks cool, but I never got around to playing the last one. Same with Just Cause. Not usually a huge fan of their Japanese output.

Sony - horzion + new jrpgs
Nintendo - theyll surprise i think like theyll always do. Im expecting a wii u remaster.

I dont care much for the other conferences since im only watching these 2 live. Im hoping Rares new IP is promising so i can finally get an xbox.

Thats all i care about really.

Other than Persona 5 gameplay... maybe....
plz

There is a lot of factors this year. I dont know what im talking about because i keep the expectations in check?

And like you said its a Remaster, just another Remaster. Me and probably a lot of other people are already tired about all this remasters. A remaster wont impress me.

Sure let's rank.

1: Square Enix- Deus Ex, Hitman, KH, Just cause 3 plus more. They win on the sheer quantity of games that I want.

2: Bethesda- Fallout 4, and Dishonored 2. Sequels to my favorite last gen titles. Giddy as fuck.

3: Sony- Uncharted, Horizon, Tomorrow Child etc etc. Should be an amazing show with plenty of surprises.

4: EA- Mass effect 4, Mirrors edge 2, Star Wars, PVZ2. Great line up.

5: Ubisoft- This might be one of their worse showings. The Division, R6, and Syndicate are all that interest me, but that interest isn't high. Hoping for Splinter Cell.

6: Microsoft- In for the multiplats.

1. Sony
2. EA
3. Bethesda
4. Ubisoft
5. Square Enix
6. Microsoft
7. PC Gaming Show
8. Nintendo

I dont own a 3DS or WiiU, but gonna buy 3DS soon

1. Sony - Expecting to be disappointed as usual on one hand, but I haven't given up hope that they might finally have a conference that's adequate in relation to their success. At one point PS4 just has to stop being one of the most underwhelming market leaders, right? Hoping for Japanese announcements in particular. New PS4 models/price cut or bundles wouldn't be bad either.

2. Microsoft - Interested in Scalebound, Crackdown and Rareware. Usually I don't give a crap about their conferences which last gen were pretty much standardised into showing off CoD, then something Halo something Forza something meh. But it looks like this might have finally changed and I'm intrigued.

3. Square Enix - Hoping for more SE than Eidos. It's intriguing because it's their first conference and has the potential of more Japanese games being present in the spotlight.

4. EA - This is the first time I'm ever looking forward to EA, even though the excitement has already decreased quite a bit after that DRM stunt for NFS. Still, hoping to see Mirror's Edge, Visceral- and Criterion games. Even though they'd be dead to me if they keep singleplayer DRM.

5. Nintendo - WiiU is dead and I'm not interested in some Starfox-skinned gamepad tech demo or other low budget projects which are gonna be supposed to be giving off the impression that WiiU isn't gonna be buried by NX at next year's E3 (now that's a conference I'm looking forward to instead). Also not interested in Xeno footage and other known titles, at this point I should already be playing them. I'm excited for Devil's Third and that's it. I was hoping for 3DS announcements initially, but that Direct recently probably already showed off everything they have for this year...

6. Ubisoft - Hoping for Ancel, but I'll probably just get another rehash of the last 5 or so years (Tom Clancy, AC and maybe now Watch Dogs joining the milking procedure).

7. Bethesda - The Evil Within was the first game I've ever bought from them, meh. I guess that Doom teaser was funny.

8. PC - I never considered it a serious gaming platform.

Yeah, personally mainly interested in seeing what Sony, S-E and Bethesda has to show.

Nintendo might have 1-2 things I'm keen in, but not really interested in the majority of their properties.

Not interested in the others MS is pretty much not on my radar and not keen on EA and Ubi's games.

Since we know Battlefront will be at E3 that mean's there's a good chance of us seeing gameplay twice.

E3'13:
Microsoft Conference = BF4 singplayer demo
EA Conference = Multiplayer demo

E3'14
EA Conference = Multiplayer demo
Sony Conference = Multiplayer gameplay trailer

E3'15
EA Conference = ???
Sony Conference = ???

I wonder who is showing what though. I Imagine the Sony is going to show off multiplayer at their conference and EA will show a singleplayer mission, possibly co-op.
Also hope they pull a Battlefield Hardline and announce an alpha during E3, I would be so happy!

Was this concept art from Horizon as well?

I know those earlier ones with the robo dino's was. But just googled GG new IP and those pics showed up.

The first one is just a personal drawing by a GG artist. Not sure about the other two, but they don't seem similar to the dino art.

So who's walking on stage to re-announce The Last Guardian then? In a just world, Tretton would return to resolve some unfinished business, but that's not going to happen. If Sony flies Ueda over to L.A., it'll be a dead giveaway the moment someone spots him milling around the showroom floor, and he's only freelance these days anyway. It'll probably be House or Yoshida, or Layden since he's eager for those brownie points.

I vote Yosh.

In no real order, but I'm looking forward to all the events (bar PC gaming) for different reasons.

In term of unknown announcements, I'm most excited for Nintendo, Sony & Ubisoft.

Nintendo is always a delight, I have no real idea what to expect out of Sony's announcements ( will it be GG, Mm, QD, 2nd-party studios, Japanese exclusives? ) & I feel like this year's "one last thing" from Ubisoft might be fun, as well as their UbiArt stuff.

In terms of known quantities, Bethesda, Square, MS, EA.

These 4 publishers have teased/announced a lot of games that we haven't exactly seen "real" gameplay of. The next Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, Halo 5, Scalebound, DOOM, etc. In many ways, I feel like their conference will be more of a showcase of what they've already talked about.

Its kind of a rarity for Shu to come out these days, but just like Bloodborne last year if he does walk on stage, you know its going to be something big from Sony Japan.

I'd like Ueda to come out and personally showcase it again though. And then announce the " making of " documentary that is downloadable on PSN right after E3 lol.

"Please welcome to the stage Fumito Ueda...."

Sony's big titles tend to be CGi/in-engine reveal first though. =/

Yeah, which sucks. But they didn't do it with Shadowfall so I have some hope. In fact, I hope it so far along that they'll have a gameplay demo as well. CGI trailer and gameplay demo would be fine as well of course.

And my guess would be Media Molecule won't do CGI either, the question is whether or not they'll reveal their game at E3.

Personally I'm interested in Square Enix and Sony's conferences.
The former, because I'm a big fan of many of their IPs, and hope to see what's next from the, and the latter, because I want Sony to sell me on the PS4, as they've done very little yet which excites me.

Hideo Kojima.

1. Sony - There has been no leaks, not even a some small rumours. Uncharted 4 gameplay and trailer is already enough to have it at the top for me. Excited to potentially see Media Molecules new game, Horizon, God of War, Rime, Gran Turismo 7 and NMS. There is so many possibilities, even TLG could show up.

...

2. Bethesda - Fallout 4 Gameplay is going to be amazing.

3. Nintendo - Maybe some more Zelda gameplay.

4. Microsoft - Excited to see what they have in store, i think its mostly is going to be focused on the games this year also. Tomb Raider gameplay, Halo gameplay and maybe even a trailer for the new Gears of War game?

5. EA - Excited to see more from Star Wars!!

UGC games kinda need to be demo-ed to showcase it's true potential.

Which is why I hope it's part of their E3 presser. It would probably be a a real breath of fresh air in a conference.

But yeah, Sony has two events after this (because TGS doesn't really make sense) so they might wait for Paris or PSX. it probably depends on the planned release date.

My educated guess would be that either this or Horizon is furthest in development.

I'm getting seriously excited at the prospect of GT7, is nothing else I would expect an announcement at this E3 or the Paris Show since EU is where the GT games sell best. Has there been any information about what engine will be used for GT7? I recall the GT6 engine being quite versatile and could be adapted to the PS4.

It's going to be great seeing what PD manage with the PS4, the weather aspects of the game will quite obviously be improved compared to PS3 thanks to PD having experience in the area and stronger hardware. At their highs PD really are at another level for me but their lows are really fucking low, hope they close the disparity there with GT7. Also their lighting engine was already on another level compared to other consoles games on PS4, it's going to be absolutely amazing seeing GT7 for the first time.

Definitely going to be Shu.
You just reminded me of that Kotaku article where he said some things about TLG and Ueda. I have a bad feeling about this guy.
j/k.. sorta.. too late I'm panicking again
