E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

I do kind of have a faint dread in the pit of my stomach that Sony may be showing all this stuff pre-show and then re-tread through it during the press conference. For example anything R&C related, if at the conference, would better have been left for the show to make a more exciting first impression.

If half their content is just showing all this stuff we've seen the past week, that would be a big misjudgement on their part. At least in my opinion.

However, if they are clearing the way so they can have an announcement packed conference full of unannounced games then i'm all for it!

There's a line I think.. If they show a nice 5 min gameplay demo of a different portion of games that have already been teased eg. R&C, that's fine.

But showing the same trailers again... Please god no.

And treating these as surprises/announcements, please god no.

With Sony you can never tell.. They have had some of the best and some of the worst conferences of all time, they don't seem to learn from their mistakes when it comes to pacing etc. but at the same time they will randomly just have a great year where they hit all the right notes.

This year I think it could be either, but your scenario could definitely happen.

Either IntelliHeath is a massive Deus Ex fan or he's got a glaring omission on his list there.

Edit - Shit, I forgot about The Last Guardian. Wow, Fuse 2 but no Mankind Divided. That's got to hurt the folks over at Eidos Montreal.
He put Fuse 2, but no Ratchet and Clank. That's got to hurt Insomniac.

Edit 2: I am retarded

It sounds like a pretty realistic list to me. I don't expect more than 1 or 2 major surprised from Microsoft other than the ones you mentioned. Microsoft's show is pretty predictable as far as what's supposed to show up.

I didn't mention anything but yeah, his lists didn't look too bad, just the predictable stuff and a couple I think are fairly wrong on both sides. Not enough to scream biased though.

Why is so much stuff being announced prior to E3? The only explanation for me is to avoid being lost in the crowd and to allow people to digest it.

If that's true then we can expect amazing conferences from all studios.

My main hope is that Quantic Dream show something, I love their games

Realistically nothing has really been announced that we didn't already know about. Sony showed a trailer for Ratchet, a game they announced last E3. Some new gameplay for Street Fighter V came out, but the new characters are being reserved for E3. These are normal pre-E3 newsbits. As you said, it gives games a chance to have the spotlight all on them.

At least from Sony's perspective they're pretty close to making it to E3 without anything leaking. Of course they aren't safe until the show starts. We've seen Beyond leak a day before E3 and then you had that E3 where someone managed to sneak into their rehearsals and post what they were hearing.

Yeah and at this stage I'm genuinely thankful for that. Leaks are bad enough but can be pretty cool if they happen a few weeks in advance when everyones counting down the days, but 3 days out there's literally no upside to it.

Nice going in pretty much blind.

I have no idea if this has been posted and I have no idea where to post this and ask this question but I've been reading the consoles war live on twitter from the most dedicated and hardcore on both sides. I came across this picture while looking up the #sparse.

It seems to be what the Xbox side has latched onto ever since house said it during a conference call I believe. I mean look for yourself if you can stomach the craziness.

Has there only been the 3 games between Jan-Aug? exclusive wise?

I'd guess that this is the point where it gets really hard to keep everything underwraps since all the pieces are in place now. One obvious way they can leak is through booth displays. Nintendo has had several games spoiled because of their displays. Just last year they had Mario Maker spoiled because of the E3 display being photographed.

EA has just tweeted about a new game being added to the EA Vault during E3.

It has already been stated that Titanfall will never be a part of EA Access. So that just leaves Dragon Age Inquisition and Battlefield Hard line doesn't it? Surely that's too early for either of those two to be added?

I'm playing inside a living room... in my living room!

Heh.

Now that I think about it, have we seen any game in VR show other people's avatars as well? So multiplayers in the same environment? So you are all sitting around in that virtual living room even though each person is in their own home? I could see some fun reimagining of avatars this way.

]This has been a great year for gaming at Microsoft[/B], and it’s only going to get better in the coming weeks and months. With the greatest games lineup in Xbox history coming to Xbox One this year, and Windows 10 being the best operating system for gaming we’ve ever released, this is going to be an exceptional year for gamers. No matter where or how you play, I truly believe 2015 will be our biggest year yet.

The greatest games lineup in Xbox History I suppose :|

Yeah. It really is a good point. They could handle a good "splitscreen" case with this or use it as a "remote play".
People just got deceptioned cause they were waiting another thing hehehehe.

So, Sony and MS talking the truth about their 2015 lineup?
:D

The lack of leaks from the MS side is rather surprising. Usually Sony can keep the ship from leaking, but this year it seems to be reversed.

What has leaked on Sony's side? It's been nothing but a slew of pre-E3 announcements from them so far, as far as I can tell.

Edit - Oh, I forgot Gran Turismo Sports.

I'm surprised by the lack of Trademarks. Last year we had (on the sony side) Killstrain, Bloodborne, Entwined and Hungry Horde, this year? Nothin. Or i missed them all.

The opposite is true. Forza 6 details leaked with screens. The Gears remaster leaked with gameplay footage. And i'm not sure if this counts, but Grip Games confirmed that they'll reveal a new game during their conference. They deleted the tweet afterwards which makes it seem like it's something that they weren't supposed to mention.
