If they promis me Tecmo Bowl 3, I'll buy a ps3 launch day.Amir0x said:i told you guys already
Sony buying a controlling share of Tecmo. Tecmo is going to become basically a second party! Itagaki does not leave in protest but swims in his glorious pools of money.
mrklaw said:needs to be bigger than Tecmo for DC to want Sony to burn in hell.
What games is DC a big fan of that he might want on Xbox live? Something personal to get him riled like that?
Jonnyram said:Hey guys, the thing DC and co are talking about might not be game-related, you know. Well not directly anyway![]()

Clue: Izzy laughing at the suggestion of a defection, and how it is 'so not that'.
mrklaw said:So its the opposite - Sony buying someone and therefore locking people out of their games if they buy other platforms.
Sony take a larger stake in SE?
Sony buy R*?
Sony buy one of the other major Japanese 3rd parties (Namco, Capcom, SEGA!?)

*cough*
The End said:well, there's always "In exchange for completely waiving platform fees, Sony guarantees that only the PS3/PSP versions of EA titles will be online"
gofreak said:This was suggested in the other thread, and indeed it would be "teh megaton" (a big shot in the arm for Sony's online credibility, and simultaneous blow to MS's, one of their big strengths). It's feasible when you also consider EA wasn't exactly convinced by MS's online model..this way they'd have an excuse for not supporting it anymore, and gain something in the process.
But it seems a little big to happen IMO.
Unison said:I dunno... now that EA has the exclusive rights to the NFL, it's tough to imagine them doing something like this for their Madden games.
The End said:even better, let's say that EA gets to charge seperately for their games.
Amir0x said:COUGH!? Holy shit, cough starts with a C! Capcom purchased by SONY!?
Just imagine this, MS stops developing sport games so they get the full support of EA. Then EA stops developing sport games for MS platforms. Biggest betrayal ever! The End said:well, the terms of the deal pretty clearly require the games be multiplatform, but there's no mention of what features need to be included.
Agreed. EA also accounts for around ~15-20% of PS2 3rd party license fees, I don't see SCEI dropping that just for online bragging rights. That'd be a huge money drain at a time they need to recoup investment more than ever (after just launching two loss taking platforms).gofreak said:But it seems a little big to happen IMO.

By no means am I implying this is what happened or will happen of course.
Unison said:The fact that ALL Xbox360 games are required to be Live Aware shows that MS is as serious as ever about XBL, so I think we're barking up the wrong tree with the EA talk...
As a result, hardware will not be at E3, and software will only be shown as movies

Transition to Nintendo? They published over 100 PS2 games (compared to less than 20 for GameCube). :/trmas said:After Capcom's disappointing transition to Nintendo last generation, I could see them going back to Sony and becoming an exclusive third party, or being bought out. I find that the most likely.
The End said:MS would gladly take a crippled Madden rather than have no football on their platform.

This thread is comedy gold.
I can't wait until E3. There's going to be something for all 3 major console maker fanboys to gloat about a little and there will be a "twist" that may bring GAF server down in flames when it gets announced.
Fun times ahead.
