FINAL RANKINGS:
1. Ubisoft 8.5. Never been a Ubisoft fan, so this is bizarre to me. Probably my least anticipated conference going into it. Came away very excited about the future of many of their games and the show was very good.
2. Sony 8. Lost Legacy, Horizon, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War and Spider Man all looked great. Lack of new game announcements and shortness of conference combined with the pointless crowd and stage presentation effects were negatives. Overall, a major disappointment for me. Announcing good stuff in the preshow that seemed very interesting was a bad way to go about it, especially with a needlessly short conference length.
3. Nintendo 7.4. Odyssey was my game of the show, can't wait. Pointless announcements of Metroid and Pokemon along with shortness of the show was a letdown. The rest of the games didn't move the needle for me.
4. Microsoft 6.9. Games looked good and more backwards compatibility is great. Unfortunately, they had one major goal and that was to sell me a XB1X and they completely failed that with me. The price along with the bizarre "exclusives" along with revealing your console with a car announcement just missed with me completely. Lack of first party games a major letdown as well.
5. EA 5.7. A Way Out seemed interesting. "Announcement" of Anthem was a bummer at the time, but game looked good at Microsoft. Overall, just lacked games that interested me and didn't have the things from EA that interested me. Better than last year (not saying much).
6. Bethesda 4.0. Wolfenstein definitely looked outstanding. However, a largely pointless midnight press conference on a Sunday night was just a terrible idea. No real reason to have an E3 conference other than the fact they have had one before. Also, everything outside of Wolfenstein and Evil Within 2 (not a game I see myself ever playing) was just pointless to me.
Overall, most disappointing E3 in many years which is crazy! I was really looking forward to Switch stuff, what the Scorpio would be and Sony just to continue killing it. All three were major let downs.
On the other hand, Easy Allies coverage has been outstanding and I'm looking forward to spending the next few nights w/their coverage.
