Easy Allies @ E3 2017 Streaming Thread & Schedule

I was super busy yesterday and super tired when I got home, so I had to catch up on Nintendo's show and yesterday's streams this morning.

My thoughts on Nintendo's showcase:

Positives
- Xenoblade 2 looked great
- Metroid Prime 4!!!
- Kirby and Yoshi. Not huge announcements but decent ones
- Mario Odyssey looked great

Negatives
- Reggie's dumb monologues
- Fire Emblem Warriors trailer was terrible
- Metroid Prime 4 was just a f'n logo
- Shocking news: Pokemon is coming to Switch some day
- Metroid: Samus Returns MIA

Score: B-

So a good show but it could've been better (and longer). I have no idea why they couldn't have announced Metroid: Samus Returns on the showcase.

My overall scores:
Ubisoft: A-
Nintendo: B-
Sony: B-
Microsoft: C
EA: D+
Bethesda: D

Ubisoft had the best conference... What a weird year.

Edit: Forgot to mention before but it was great seeing Matt Blair back with the Allies. Awesome to hear he'll be able to hang out with them on stream more, presumably because his old job was stopping him.

Cmon buddy. At one point in this entire thread you will post something that isn't a complaint. I know you have it in you

It won't last much past E3. It's like those weird summer camp jokes that only work in that exhausted crazy state

I did yesterday when they did me a solid and ended with Wolfenstein impressions. Also now that they've finally ended podcast I should be jolly.

I wasn't there when Chim became a thing, so it's always just been a marginally irritating Twitch Chat 'thing' to me, rather than this deep well of humour...

Same, wasn't there for it lol.

I've been casually playing through The Evil Within at my friend's houseZ finished chapter four. I'm really put off by the letter boxing and janky camera and I have no idea what's going on because we talk over it the whole time, but it's still been interesting. Did this one thing today where I was falling down a big building and it transitioned into me rolling down a hallway and I was like... radical. But seriously what is this game about? I started at a hospital or something and now I'm IDK where

I popped it off the backlog and I just finished chapter 4 as well. It's a long game and they haven't really tipped their hand on what's going on with anything at this point. But the creepy factor is really started to get to me. I'm on pc and turns off the letterbox. I thought they patched that option into the console version? Maybe I made that up

I hear how many games they all have impressions on still at this time and I have no idea why they waste time on the podcasts... and I really liked FriendCode. I don't know if it would have hurt to record that podcast next week.

Edit: FrameTrap and Trailer Score tomorrow, lmao. All great content, but overall a bit disappointing. There will be no time for more impressions.

I think doing all the live podcasts was probably a mistake. Maybe one is good, but they cut into the impressions -- and that's not really a great trade.

Framtrap last year was pretty much impressions with the whole noodles and broth thing so hopefully it's the same this year.

I disagree there. Friend code last year was easily one of the highlights of last year's E3. Last nights podcast was a total blast.
You mean Frame Trap last year? I'd agree, but that one was mostly impressions. The podcast last night was good (as was Friend Code tonight), but I think E3 impressions are a rare thing that should get the center stage the one time a year they're in play.

Just IMO

Yeah doing your regular content but live is certainly not what E3 is all about. I was looking to their 3 hour impressions like last year. Sadly that's not what they're doing.

I mean, them trying something new is not a bad thing. I just happen to think it's not as good as the old thing

Oh, I agree. For me personally, that was because surrounding influences, though - the wacky, fast and loose nature of it. The content itself was recapping conferences, which was great, but felt unnecessary at the time... Blood running around getting impressions is more pressing for me personally. I love the Allies reaction's to stories the other tell, which they don't know about. Conference talk is basically "Oh yeah that happened."

They did podcasts 2 of the 3 nights last year. What are you talking about?
I guess i don't remember it well, because i do remember coming home from work and watching 3 hour videos of game impressions for each of the e3 days. Maybe its the fact that the podcast was too long this year and friend code being added.

I agree. It's good to try new things but it's also good for us to tell them these things are not working.

Oh hey, other people have finally chimed in about podcasts cutting into impressions time EleGiggle

But actually impressions tonight have been great and it's really unfortunate they're cut short every night

Oh god... I think I will absolutely hate the Eagle. Shiiiiiiit.
I really don't like the MGSV approach to planning and stuff. Watch_Dogs 1/AssCreed Black Flag - one man army wrecking through enemies with a mix of combat and ridiclious stealth is more my style. Mhhh.

First negative shadow of war impression ive read, good takes!

I think that's interesting since they had a video playing along with Huber's impressions and that video matched what he was criticizing. The animation doesn't look great, the sword combat does seem to lack impact, and the in general the game seems really unpolished with all the clipping. I understand that impressions generally aren't particularly critical of games. But this one is coming out very soon, so there isn't exactly a lot of time for them to fix things.

"Knack 2 is good" and Blood seemed to agree, that tease for what must be the surprise of E3 lol :)

Ben and Huber talking about Yakuza is always just the best. I really got to play one of them soon.

Yeah, that deep dive was fantastic.

Edit: Yessss can't wait for the return of that, Ben, worked out great last year.
