How would that make any sense?
Isn't that what a lot of Steam games do?

If true, I expect Microsoft's bullshit surrounding external storage to be worse than it's ever been.

Initially I thought being able to 'pause' multiple games and resume was pointless, because I was thinking about disc swapping. But then it actually further backs up the 'no second hand game' thing, if every disc game is tied to an account with a licence code and all games are played off the hdd, there is no reason for them to force a disc being in the system.
This will actually be seen as a benefit that MS might be able to use to counteract the fact that people can't trade games.
I bet you the game data isn't even on the disk. It's the key for downloading all games to the system. That's why everyone is saying it requires an online connection.
At least, that's what I got from reading the article.
Every rumour that I've heard about this thing has been awful.
If any of this is true then MS want to make sure they have some absolutely killer games lined up for launch...
Why would you need a 50gb bluray to hold just an unlock code?
Needs a Ballmer photoshop makeover.
Kinect 3D, Smart Glass
I know this is a joke but...
Kinect is already 3D as it sees in depth and Smart Glass is a piece of software that works independently of the consoles so it can't be included in the console.
Addendum...
must be this face:
I was thinking the one with that intense stare, similar to the original poster.
At risk of evolving this thread into the Ballmer GIF Thread, this is probably my favourite Ballmer meme.

Funny picture, but I fear the days before the 720 release, when everybody will Ballmerify their avatar. :D

I'm sick of this dlc crazy, online only, no second user bullshit (it's why I don't buy EA titles anymore :/)
I hope this article turns out to be false.
The mandatory Kinect does seem to align with previous rumours that they use Kinect to see how many people are in the room, for instance so that you can't watch movies with more than two.

Maybe this has been discussed earlier but is it possible that with all this talk about always being online, no used games and Kinect that has to be on, that Microsoft will somehow use Kinect to recognize who owns a game?

this might be your fantasy. you have some sick imagination.
Almost like you're not suppose to socialise and have friends (unless it's via XBL).
It just dawned on me that the purpose of Kinect is to enforce the new anti-secondhand game policy.
Using Kinect's facial recognition tech Kinect will determine if the person in front of the camera is the original owner of the game. If not then Kinect tells the Xbox not to run the game and alertsMicrosoftthe police.

You can't use a photo. It spits out lasers to sense depth.Serious question: I wonder what happens if you put a piece of tape over the camera, or a photo of one person sitting in the room?

You can be sure they've spent a long time testing all the ways people might try to get around this. Though it's inevitable that at some stage someone will stumble upon a way to bypass it, until that gets patched.
