Whoa, FMT told me he was going to Arizona for the Superbowl.

Be on the lookout for him in the stands, with his sweet Gold 49'er Jacket, like earlier this season!

When my last LA Raiders shirt was more holey than righteous it was truly a sad, sad day for me. :(

I'd buy some new shit but most of the stuff I find on eBay is a painful reminder how awful society's collective sense of fashion was in the late 80s and early 90s. :lol
Pfft you just hatin' cuz we stylin' on ya.

That's an amazing dinner but where's there a White Castle in NYC, unless you're covering NJ?

I know of at least two White Castles in Manhattan (there's one on 5th Ave in the 30s and another on 8th in the 30s), and there are tons in Queens and Brooklyn.

I'd imagine they'll be pretty busy, but what about Five Guys? Best burgers in DC/VA area. Wish they had one up here in this part of NY

Where are you in NY? They've been in Queens for almost a year now and have opened in Brooklyn Heights and Midtown in the last few months. Apparently they're planning to take New York by storm over the next year or so, so even if you're not in the city they'll probably reach you soon anyway.

Unitas went up against defenses that consisted of brick layers and plumbers. Brady goes up against some of the fastest, biggest athletes on the planet.

I'm actually near Rochester/Buffalo area of NY.

Unitas called all his own plays. Not like Manning having three choices, like he literally could/did call the whole game. Unitas also didn't benefit from the pampering that QBs get now. Not to mention that in Unitas's time teams were mostly rushing teams which makes what he did more special imo. Oh and we all know the rules have been changed to help offenses and even then Brady hasn't put up record numbers until this year. Even then I believe it was only one record that Manning got without playing a good chunk of the last couple games. Just saying. And just remember that Brady has the benefit of playing with and behind those faster bigger athletes.

You can't really compare the different eras, because the game has changed so much.

On one hand, athletes are much better now. On the other hand, offensive linemen are now actually allowed to block. Back in the old days when they could just use the forearm.....ugh.

I don't know guys. Something must be wrong with me, but this is the first year I'm not really excited about the Super Bowl at all. Maybe its because we just saw this game 4 weeks ago, maybe its because the Giants have no chance, maybe its because this entire season has depressing as hell and really ended for me when the worst team in the league the Falcons, soundly beat my Niners.

The thing I'm looking forward to most Sunday is the half-ounce of weed we're getting for the game, and the fact I have Monday off the recuperate.

There's a Five Guy's now in Tuscaloosa. The Burgers are average, but is it normal to recieve about 8 pounds of fries, filling 2/3rd of the bag???

Who is with me, Krystal's > White Castle.

Not NEARLY as good as Backyard Burgers. Holy geez, I'm probably fortunate there isn't one within 2 miles of home or work, I'd blow up in weight! Then you got Fudruckers, but that's getting towards "resturant" burgers. Man, I miss Fudruckers...they need to build one around here...

What the hell? This woman "Inez" is a real version of those Mad TV tramps. "MARRY ME BRADY! JUST MARRY ME!":lol

Ines Gomez Mont, a reporter for TV Azteca, came to Media Day at University of Phoenix Stadium intent on asking one question: Will you marry me, Tom Brady?

Sporting a cropped wedding dress and veil, she shouted her proposal from a mob of reporters. Brady's response? "What's your name?" (Video coming shortly)

Eh.....she's cute at least.

Lolz. Whitecastle is an OHIO thang, foolz. In fact, I think there are more in Nothern Kentucky than anywhere else per capita.

edit: Picture of popeyes/Church's chicken too big to post. Down south, that would be a Krystal and Popeye's, I guess?

BTW, I think one of my most hated things about ESPN is them trying to make the Giants out to be morons by actually talking about thinking they can win. Constantly talking about "Well you never hear the Patriots talking about winning". It's moronic.

It would be totally awesome if one year neither team talks to the media about jack and fucking shit. ESPN would meltdown...

I swear I saw Plax's prediction of 23-17 about 6 times through an hour or two.

But they only aired Plax saying "A prediction is a guarantee?" once. We want justice!

Giants: 'We Almost Beat The Patriots Once, We Can Almost Beat Them Again'

giants_article_large.article_large.jpg

NEW YORK—As they come closer to their Super Bowl clash with the formidable Patriots—the team they nearly defeated in late December—the Giants are confident that they can come close to beating the undefeated AFC champions on football's biggest stage.

"This team has already tasted victory against the Patriots," head coach Tom Coughlin said Monday. "By which I mean we were so close to victory that we could taste it. True, we did not actually experience that victory, but we came as close to beating them as anyone else has this season. That's the kind of team we believe we are, and I think the Super Bowl will prove that."

Couglin and his assistant coaches have been painstakingly breaking down game films from their Week 17 meeting with New England, analyzing every vital, near-victorious second for anything that might help them come that tantalizingly close to winning for the second time in as many months. They acknowledge that the Patriots are very good indeed, but the Giants believe they can draw on the experience of that near-victory, the confidence they discovered in barely losing to undefeated New England, and the lessons learned in forcing Bill Belichick's juggernaut to come from 12 points behind and beat them in the final minutes.

"This team really believes they can come close to winning the Super Bowl—very, very close," Giants quarterback Eli Manning said Tuesday after spending the morning watching film of his Dec. 29 home loss, film that laid bare the crucial interception he threw to Pats corner Ellis Hobbs. "We can come so close to beating them, so very, heartbreakingly close, that every player here will take it to their graves."

"This will be one to tell my kids about, that's for sure," Michael Strahan said. "If we can pull it off and almost beat these guys, they'll be showing those highlights until the end of time. When I die and come before those Pearly Gates, St. Peter himself will look down at me and say 'So, Michael, what was it like to be an eyelash away from winning that Super Bowl against those Patriots?' And Heaven itself will hold its breath while I tell them how we almost did it."

Meanwhile, in Foxborough, the Patriots are being careful not to give the Giants any bulletin-board material.

"Yeah, they good, they good," wideout Randy Moss said when told of the Giants attitude. "They got a good team. I guess we can't get too upset if they think they can nearly pull it off. Plus, hey, you got to admit, it ain't bragging if it's true. And they did nearly almost come close to practically beating us, come to think of it."

"Didn't, though," Moss added. "18 and oh, baby!"

Still, the Giants refuse to be completely intimidated.

"We stood up to them once, hit 'em in the mouth, and made them beat us," Coughlin said, noting that in the previous meeting, the Giants defense put the Patriots in the challenging position of having to score three times over the last 20 minutes of the game, which the Patriots naturally did with time to spare and without apparent effort. "And mark my words, that's what we're going to do in the Super Bowl—meet their strengths with ours, play as hard and as fast as we can, and force them to eventually beat us."

"Oh, crap," Coughlin added. "Crap. We're going to lose the Super Bowl."

:lol

13 pro bowlers got their ass beat in their first playoff game. what a crock of shit let some other guys go.

The fact that Witten is starting over Cooley is a disgrace. We barely had an offense this season and Cooley set career records for TDs and yardage. He's had the most touchdowns of any NFC Tight Ends the last 4 seasons (27). For his entire career (those 4 seasons), he's tied with Shockey, and has 6 more TDs than Witten, despite having played 2 less seasons than Shockey and 1 less than Witten.

On defense too, plenty of more deserving guys from other teams that should be going. Is Patrick Willis going?

Oh, and for the record, Brooklyn is better than Sam.

that's nice and all, but the pro bowl is for the regular season THIS year

witten is a pussy. the fact that any cowboys are on the probowl team is sad. at least they were embarrassed at home in the playoffs. the best part was seeing the dream built up all season long and then torn down in an afternoon by one eli manning :D i loved drinking the bitter tears.... but not as much as i did the next week!

p.s. what happened to all those cowboys fans from earlier in the year?

the only guys who don't deserve it are roy williams (alternate) and ken hamlin

I guess when you're a fan of a team as shitty as the niners, seeing the cowboys lose is the only thing you can hold on to

Do you honestly believe 11 players on that team are among the best in their conference? And does that make the pain of losing in the first round at home worse?:p

Tony Romo - yes
TO - yes
D Ware - yes
Leonard Davis - most questionable
Flozell Adams - yes, even with all the false starts
Andre Gurode - he had a great regular season blocking besides all 2 or 3 snaps. he was completely shell shocked in the playoffs though
TNew - yes

Marion Barber - questionable. but besides westbrook and peterson, who else?
Nick Folk - questionable. don't know much about other kickers

As for the pain of losing in the first round, these guys were just retards in the playoff game, killing themselves.

make your time. we will rise like the phoenix. meanwhile the cowboys will yap a lot during the regular season, and then fade away into oblivion when it counts!

As an unabashed Cowboy hater, that is what I would say. The only tricky one would be Barber because of the reasons you mentioned. Face it, they were, imo, far and away the best team in the NFC this year. Flozell without the knee problems is a beast and handle Osi like a rag-doll. Davis is good but I think Snee is better. :D
