Thank god the patriots lost. I have to deal with a lot of people in Boston through work and I'm tired of hearing thier shit.:D

Giving away my age, but I was at SB:XIII. It was big back then, but when I look at the spectacle they make about it today I can only laugh. When I was there the stadium was full of fans, but fans hardly get any tickets directly these days.

Thats one thing I despise about the Superbowl now. Its nothing more then a glorified Celebrity/Executive game. The days where the fans mattered are long gone. They had a thing on TV the Average Income for a Person attending the Super Bowl was 200,000 a year.

I was actually pretty shocked at this year's crowd. You look at the stadium, there were a TON of Giants fans. A metric ton. And a huge amount of Pats fans too. It actually felt sort of like a college tournament-type game, where you have one side going for one team and the other side going for the other team. Great stuff there.

The Superbowl needs to be spread out to every stadium, warm weather or not. Football is about cold, windy, snowy, rainy games too. I'm sick and tired of this perfect weather/dome stadium games all the time.

Anytime I hear Bills and Superbowl in the same sentence I get the same strange fascination as watching a car accident over and over. How you can go so many times in a row and never win... man what a gutting feeling.

Then again I'm also a seahawks fan so I probably shouldn't mock the bills... at all.

Ugh, I thought we had an actual, true, bonafide Titans fan on our hands. You shouldn't even have to mention that.

So is Tiki Barber gonna try to spin this or can we assume he already hung himself?

Anybody else think Jordan Sparks looked oooooooooooooooooo sooo fine!

I'm so confused lol. Obviously the Titans didn't beat the rams 3 times that season because we lost to them in the super bowl.

Who are you rooting for?

To whoever said it above, I am a true, bonafide, titans fan.

I couldn't care less for the Jags, but wow. :lol

*smacks forehead* It's been a long day guys. :lol

Now that my head is right I know exactly what you're talking about. IIRC, Samari Rolle was Brunell's worst nightmare...and was dubbed the jaguar killer.:D

As a Pats fan I just feel bad for Welker, he really played his ass off that game. If the Pats ended up winning it, he would be the hands down MVP of the game. I can't wait to see him tear it up next year!
Honestly, as a Giants fan, I thought Welker should have gotten the MVP award anyway. :lol

Simmons said the same thing in his article today, that there was a surprising amount of actual fans for this Super Bowl.

Yeah, I commented on that to my family a few times while watching the game. I'm not sure I've ever heard a LOUDER crowd at a Super Bowl before. The whole building just exploded when Plax caught that touchdown at the end.

I'm talking about your fucking arch-rival, the Jags, you nimrod! JESUS!:p We were 14-2 in the regular season with our only losses to the fucking Titans.:(

Carl sounds off on the Giants win, shockingly.:lol

If I would have looked at your avatar I would have picked up on what you were talking about. I was brought back into angry mode against the rams...seeing as how we never had to worry about you Jags, it didn't cross my mind :p :D

He's such a class act and a good guy, but definitely not the best actor. You should see this local mattress commercial he's in....he's absolutely emotionless throughout it's entirety. :lol

Either way, he's my favorite player on the team, easily.

There were a ton of actual fans in Jacksonville when the Eagles and Pats played... Although I try not to remember much about that night.

Welker is the man. While here in Miami he told a story to Dan LeBatard our local sports guy, one day he was outside his house working on the lawn and he started a conversation with his neighbor. The neighbor asked what he did for a living and Welker responded by saying that he plays for the Miami Dolphins, remember he is a skinny little guy that looks nothing like a football player. The neighbor responded with "You play for the Dolphins? No wonder they suck."

Physically he is a nothing but that guy has more heart than anyone, its incredible. Easily the best player on our team on offense the year before.

Ack...I just feel so bad for him for some reason...some deep sense of regret? I don't know why.

Don't, he went from a laughing stock to one of the best franchises in all of sports, he made it to the SB in his first year there. He is young, he has a long way to go, they will win one.

On the other side I am happy for Sam Madison, gave us many great years, he had his ups and downs but great player. Nice to see him a champion.

everytime i saw welker get the ball i wanted one of the giants players to fucking destroy him, but no one can ever get a squared up hit on that god damn flea.

The niners signed Shaun Hill to a 3 year extension.. I wonder what Alex has to say about that

Welker is the Eckstein of the NFL. Screw those little pipsqueaks.

he should be happy. finally someone is in-house who has the balls to make it an open competition. this will benefit all parties, as alex will be forced to get better if he wants to stay the starter rather than having old man dilfer hold his gatorade cup for him

Hey am I still wrong about the key to the game being the physicality at the LOS and point of attack?

I never said it wasn't . Obviously if you don't put pressure on Brady he will light you up. Either way the Giants deserved to win and "the catch" is what got them the win. Definitely the toughest catch I've seen in a SB. Much more impressive then Montana to Dwight Clark even though that was a TD.

So was that actually the University of Phoenix's stadium? As in, it's normally used for college ball? Or was it built with the Cardinals in mind?

Because if it's the former, that's one seriously fucking huge college stadium.

I don't know what was more entertaining, the ending to yesterday's classic game or going back to page 47 and reading from there. Hilarious swing of emotions from GAF fans when Pats took the lead, taunting the Giants fans, saying "dynasty complete!" then the comeback and drive of eternity by Eli. Man I was rolling going through page after page, it was like I was watching the game again. Well done fans! :lol

I think it's an NFL stadium but the Uni bought the name.

University of Phoenix is the sponsor. It was built as an NFL stadium.

They just named it, that's all. University of Phoenix doesn't even have a football team. They're just an internet college. It's all insanely stupid when you think about it.
