Eagles :lol

They had their window, it closed a couple years ago.

So what you're saying is you don't think the Eagles will compete next year? I mean, I'm not going to argue, I'm just curious.

i didnt even think the giants had a window to close. It just goes to prove any team can win any year.

The Texans could take it all next year and i wouldnt be all that shocked

I could see any NFC East team being this successful again next year, even the skins.. They are a lot better than people make them out to be.

Let's hope its the birds though, I need a championship bad.

They just opened their window. It just happened to be exceptionally sunny and comfortably breezy at the start.

Wonder how long it can last.

EDIT:Maybe you should add the remaining list of records they broke to that picture.

They broke the record for most wins without winning the Superbowl.

Change 1 play and the Eagles are in the playoffs. Even with Mcnabb coming off an injury that takes 2 years to recover from we were right in the hunt. Plus we have Brian Westbrook, the most dangerous offensive player in the NFC.

I agree with you that the Eagles could have very easily been in the playoffs this year.. I'm hoping our recent string of really bad luck manages to regress back to the mean next year, along with a healthy McNabb who is more motivated than ever by a hotshot backup QB in Kolb. I can't see Westbrook having nearly as good of a year as he had this year though, and it worries me.

we just need a god damn WR and a DE to play on the other side of Trent Cole

And why does it feel like i say this every year -_-

If the defensive line steps up we will win the nfc east easy. I think our recievers are good enough.

Why not? If they are able to add someone, that opens his game up even more..especially if McNabb is able to throw the ball to guy's hands/chests instead of their ankles. I'm somewhat worried about the team in general, their defense is iffy in spots, their offense is iffy in spots, but Brian Westbrook is something I have my utmost faith in. And not to mention if the Eagles rely on Westbrook to have another year like he did, they might be in trouble.

Also, I agree, let's go Phillies as I'm a huge baseball fan, but I love me some hockey and Flyers too!

Considering teams have already done it while also winning the Super Bowl? Not so much. They will be remembered much in the same way that the 98 Vikings are remembered, wasted potential.

Because we signed to huge free agent busts in Jevon Kearse and Darren Howard combine that with a bust of a first round draft pick in McDougle (not entirely his fault, getting shot fucked him up), and we're constantly cock-teased by Jaqua Thomas.

WR on the other hand is something I don't even get my hopes up for anymore. We're not getting one in free agency, and we sure as hell aren't trading for Ocho Cinco or Roy Williams, and if we draft future bust "I'm a retarded version of Ted Ginn JR", Desean Jackson I'm pretty sure I'll shoot myself in the leg.

You had your chances and pissed it away time after time. Just accept the inevitable and bow to your NFC
B

I tend to think it will be looked at subjectively.

I absolutely love Westbrook, he has been my favorite professional athlete along with Chase Utley for a while now. I just can't see him having as great of a season next year, at least in terms of raw statistics. I fear we just wasted the peek of an amazing football player. I don't think he'll suddenly turn into a pile of shit, but I really doubt he'll top his stats next season.

Turn the 1 into an outline of the lombardi trophy (kinda looks like a one) and that picture will be full of win.

1984 49ers went 18-1 and proceeded to win the Super Bowl.
1985 Bears went 18-1 and proceeded to win the Super Bowl.
2007 Patriots went 18-0 and proceeded to lose the Super Bowl.

2008 49ers went 38-0 over two seasons, obliterating every single record known to man (after trading for Chad Johnson).

Word.

I'm glad this will kill the dynasty talk of the Patriots and the comparisons to the true dynasty teams. I didn't get to see the 70s Steelers, but I did see the 80s Niners and 90s Cowboys and those teams demolished their playoff opponents. They didn't get chumped in the Super Bowl either. The pats have had some impressive regular season runs, but playoff wise there wasn't that much separating them from the pack and they have won a lot of late games on the leg of their kicker or on a final drive. The Cowboys or Niners would go into the Super Bowl and the game would be over in the 1st quarter. They were just that much better. They had some close Super Bowls as well, but they had just as many blowout wins in the playoffs.

Cheaters do not deserve to be in the five rings club. Anything to stop the Patriots from getting #4 is good in my book.

you guys can argue about past glories and such but think about us decrepit Saints fans.
If they ever do something like the giants did yesterday Louisiana will explode and armageddon will happen. But of course, this proves that armageddon will never happen.

You guys just won a national championship, and you currently have the best NBA team in the league...

Give some love to philly. We're desperate. We almost threw a parade for a fucking horse.

Just want to drop in here and say that the NFC will go back to their dynasty years where they belong. Its just way to many potential teams to brush off.

Cowboys
Giants
Greenbay
Vikings
Bears
Eagles
Cardinals
Redskins
Saints
Seahawks

All these teams look good.

Oh, and the AFC will get fucking own by the NFC in the probowl. The Devin hester threat and Romo and farve with purple jesus just spells pwnage.

they are here to rub it in the Giant fans faces that they've only won ONE super bowl, as opposed to losing 4 straight NFC Title games. Can't top that dynasty.

Hey, we just rooted for a division rival to win the super bowl, and we're desperate as shit throws us a freakin bone.

well you have a point about LSU, as I was born just outside of Baton Rouge and purple and gold is in my veins, but I was referring to NFL football, and the fact that the Saints have had 40 years of hopeless defeat and struggle. When they made that run in 2006, even though they didnt reach the Superbowl I and many fans felt almost like they had. thats how starving we are for a NFL victory. HAving LSU as the BCS champions and the Hornets doing well helps take the sting (pun not intended) out of the 7-9 Saints season, but not entirely.

Talked to an Igle fan today actually. Not a friend... just someone I was doing business with. He told me, honestly, that he wanted the Pats to win so that he could see 19-0 in his lifetime.

I assured him he still won't....... nor prolly an Igle Super Bowl ;)

...I didn't mean to make it sting... but I'm fairly certain it did.

And... am I hearing this correctly?!?! There were actually Igle fans cheering for the Jints this week?!?!! Personally... I just couldn't see myself ever rooting for a fellow NFC East team in the big one. Not ever. ...I'm not even sure I buy that Igle fans were cheering us on!!

I hated the Pats so much in 2006- 2007 that I rooted for Dallas when they played them, and I fucking HATE the Cowboys (for the same sort of arrogance and media whoring in fact). Rooting for the Giants, or ANY team that would make it to the SB against the Pats is easy.

:lol Still got a LONG way to go before its anywhere near the AFC. If the Dolphins were in the NFC this past year we would have had at least 5 wins or so.

Yeah, against all the stellar teams in the AFC you can't blame them! If only NFC teams had the misfortune of playing the Raiders, Jets, Bengals, Broncos, Chiefs, and Broncos...

Congrats Giants.

The problem with this statement is, the Bears were 18-1 in 1985. And guess who they smashed on for the Lombardi trophy?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985_Chicago_Bears_season

At the end of the day, all the accolades (single season TD record, 18 staright, Brady MVP) will NEVER be mentioned without stating that that was the year they lost the only game that really counted in the end.

I bet Brady would have prayed to have the 17 points that he scoffed at Burress predicting they would have when the timer hit 0:00.

All better than the Falcons, 49ers, Panthers, Rams, and Lions.

I think the Niner fans have to be the most loyal on this board, right? We haven't even come close to success and we're still here every week, talking about our team and fighting for justice!

I can't wait until Tom Brady meets Patrick Willis next season.
