So what you're saying is you don't think the Eagles will compete next year? I mean, I'm not going to argue, I'm just curious.

The Texans could take it all next year and i wouldnt be all that shocked
sorryaboutdresden said:I could see any NFC East team being this successful again next year, even the skins.. They are a lot better than people make them out to be.

Let's hope its the birds though, I need a championship bad.

And why does it feel like i say this every year -_-
sorryaboutdresden said:I agree with you that the Eagles could have very easily been in the playoffs this year.. I'm hoping our recent string of really bad luck manages to regress back to the mean next year, along with a healthy McNabb who is more motivated than ever by a hotshot backup QB in Kolb. I can't see Westbrook having nearly as good of a year as he had this year though, and it worries me.

harSon said:Considering teams have already done it while also winning the Super Bowl? Not so much. They will be remembered much in the same way that the 98 Vikings are remembered, wasted potential.
mCACGj said:Why not? If they are able to add someone, that opens his game up even more..especially if McNabb is able to throw the ball to guy's hands/chests instead of their ankles. I'm somewhat worried about the team in general, their defense is iffy in spots, their offense is iffy in spots, but Brian Westbrook is something I have my utmost faith in. And not to mention if the Eagles rely on Westbrook to have another year like he did, they might be in trouble.
Also, I agree, let's go Phillies as I'm a huge baseball fan, but I love me some hockey and Flyers too!

I did my best.

etiolate said:I'm glad this will kill the dynasty talk of the Patriots and the comparisons to the true dynasty teams. I didn't get to see the 70s Steelers, but I did see the 80s Niners and 90s Cowboys and those teams demolished their playoff opponents. They didn't get chumped in the Super Bowl either. The pats have had some impressive regular season runs, but playoff wise there wasn't that much separating them from the pack and they have won a lot of late games on the leg of their kicker or on a final drive. The Cowboys or Niners would go into the Super Bowl and the game would be over in the 1st quarter. They were just that much better. They had some close Super Bowls as well, but they had just as many blowout wins in the playoffs.
Innotech said:you guys can argue about past glories and such but think about us decrepit Saints fans.
If they ever do something like the giants did yesterday Louisiana will explode and armageddon will happen. But of course, this proves that armageddon will never happen.

well you have a point about LSU, as I was born just outside of Baton Rouge and purple and gold is in my veins, but I was referring to NFL football, and the fact that the Saints have had 40 years of hopeless defeat and struggle. When they made that run in 2006, even though they didnt reach the Superbowl I and many fans felt almost like they had. thats how starving we are for a NFL victory. HAving LSU as the BCS champions and the Hornets doing well helps take the sting (pun not intended) out of the 7-9 Saints season, but not entirely.sorryaboutdresden said:You guys just won a national championship, and you currently have the best NBA team in the league...
Give some love to philly. We're desperate. We almost threw a parade for a fucking horse.
I hated the Pats so much in 2006- 2007 that I rooted for Dallas when they played them, and I fucking HATE the Cowboys (for the same sort of arrogance and media whoring in fact). Rooting for the Giants, or ANY team that would make it to the SB against the Pats is easy.Apple Jax said:Talked to an Igle fan today actually. Not a friend... just someone I was doing business with. He told me, honestly, that he wanted the Pats to win so that he could see 19-0 in his lifetime.
I assured him he still won't....... nor prolly an Igle Super Bowl
...I didn't mean to make it sting... but I'm fairly certain it did.
And... am I hearing this correctly?!?! There were actually Igle fans cheering for the Jints this week?!?!! Personally... I just couldn't see myself ever rooting for a fellow NFC East team in the big one. Not ever. ...I'm not even sure I buy that Igle fans were cheering us on!!

Cowboys
Giants
Greenbay
Vikings
Bears
Eagles
Cardinals
Redskins
Saints
Seahawks
All these teams look good.
Oh, and the AFC will get fucking own by the NFC in the probowl. The Devin hester threat and Romo and farve with purple jesus just spells pwnage.
Yeah, against all the stellar teams in the AFC you can't blame them! If only NFC teams had the misfortune of playing the Raiders, Jets, Bengals, Broncos, Chiefs, and Broncos...MiamiWesker said:Still got a LONG way to go before its anywhere near the AFC. If the Dolphins were in the NFC this past year we would have had at least 5 wins or so.
