I like some of these:

23. OT David Diehl -- Giants

Diehl is a good athlete for the position who protects Manning's blind side and has the ability to mirror the elite pass-rushers. He is a finesse blocker with body control.

40. RB Ahmad Bradshaw -- Giants

Bradshaw is an explosive, exciting ball carrier. He lacks the size to be an every-down player but is explosive through the hole and is very elusive once he gets past the line of scrimmage.

Yeah. Ask Tiki Barber.

46. S James Butler -- Giants

Butler is a starting free safety who has solid size and range. He is serviceable but gets out of position at times. The Patriots will try to find him in coverage.
Strong Safety, dumbass.

Also think Dominik Hixon should be ahead of Kelley Washington. Hixon is just as good at gunner, but also can be a return man. Also has Michael Johnson, a dime contributor, below backup OL from NE. :lol

Lot of stupid shit in there, but it's ESPN.

BAAAALLLINNN'
:lol @ the Bradshaw comment.

Speaking of him, I preached how good an RB he was early in the playoffs thread but I didn't think he was as good as he turned out to be. It took Tiki a good 6-8 years to start running with half the power that Bradshaw runs with. Twice he showed amazing effort on TDs that were called back, and the long play in the Buffalo game just goes to show the amount of speed with which he hits the hole.

That said, I counter the conventional thinking and would rather keep BJac as the starter.

PFT is saying that Rivers played the whole AFC Championship game without an ACL. that's incredible if true. right up there with byron leftwich being carried down the field cuz his ankle was so bad... that kind of toughness.

Wellington, do you know where I can get a Steve Smith jersey? The giants official shop doesn't have them, have any been made? Does somewhere do custom NFL jerseys?

Kind of amazing....but then again, Hines Ward has played his whole life without one in his left knee.

So basically Norv Turner played a gimp over a healthy QB and it might have cost him a SB berth. That was smart. If not then Volek is absolutely horrendous since he couldn't outplay somebody with one good knee in practice that week.

Rivers played a better game than Brady did. Do you think Brady should have sat down? Or maybe the Chargers lost because of other circumstances.

No he didn't . He had no TD's and 2 picks. Brady had 2 TD's and 3 picks. Brady also had a higher comp % and only 2 less yards passing than Rivers. Brady did not play good be he outplayed Rivers. The job of the QB is to put points on the board. Rivers didn't do that. That being said Volek might have scored TD's instead of having to kick field goals.

No he didn't.

I disagree with your assessment of the AFC Championship Game. The Patriots offense wasn't competent until they started running Maroney down the Charger's throats. Take off the blinders for a second. Or do you blame Rivers for them not being able to pick up a 3rd and 1 on the ground? Do you praise Brady because Faulk made a spectacular catch on an overthrown pass?

I agree that Norv should've played Volek, because it would've put the "shitty journeyman/backup QB defeats the Patriots" theory to the third and final test of the season.

So throwing more TD's, a higher comp % and for more yards per pass isn't better :lol Sorry I'm not agreeing with whatever metric you are using to acess how good a QB did in a game. They both played poorly but Brady played less poorly. Period.

The Roy Williams for 2nd round pick rumor is back? My god that is a steal, he would look awesome in a st.louis jersey :)

I would have started Volek too. That way, if he sucked, Rivers could come in for an even bigger morale boost to the team. I don't think it matters either way though. The team just wasn't 100% offensively and probably would have come up short anyway.

Didn't realize so many wanted Roy Williams. Come to the titans where 104% of the balls thrown will be your way! In reality if Roy were to choose where to go he would probably go to the Dallas Cowboys.

the difference is we can afford to give him a massive contract, whereas the other teams are bogged down with dead salaries and other monetary issues. come to san fran and reunite with your buddy martz!

What? The Niners haven't signed Quinn Gray yet.

And the Jags have a massive amounnt of cap room to work with, although they have to get Garrard signed to a long-term deal.

What the hell? Al Davis is asking Lane Kiffin to resign?

NFL Live is reporting this now.

god willing my friend!

and LOL @ al davis asking lane kiffin to resign. who does he think he's going to get to coach the team? no one wants to go to fucking oakland with that old bastard running things.

Under the circumstances (no ACL, no RB and his best receiver injured) Rivers played much better. Going to Volek would have been stupid. I wonder how Brady would have done without Moss, Maroney or his favorite ACL... considering he was awful with all his weapons and Maroney carried the team.

Hey if the Niners want another undersized college system QB, Colt Brennan should be available in the 2nd round or later!

He weighed in at the Senior Bowl at 185 pounds.:lol

the niners have a QB?

alex smith is a better qb than vince young. even vince's own teammate (kevin mawae) called him out for not knowing what the fuck he's doing out there. alex smith is the youngest starting qb for 3 years running, he's had to play under 3 different offensive systems (will be 4 this coming year in 4 years), and had a poor offensive line last year. with martz' help and a couple more weapons he'll be fine.

I think it's the other way around. Martz will be forced to use Alex Smith, do a decent job with him, then use his success to land a head coaching job somewhere else!

Yep. Raiders coach refuses to heed Davis' call to resign

Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis has been pushing for coach Lane Kiffin to resign and is considering Dennis Green as a potential replacement, sources close to Kiffin and the team said.

Davis has gone so far as to draft a letter of resignation for Kiffin to sign, a source said. Kiffin has refused to do so but has dared Davis to fire him instead. The letter, the source said, was sent to Kiffin two weeks ago.

One season into the job and Lane Kiffin has quite a dilemma on his hands. Raiders owner Al Davis wants him out, but Kiffin's not budging.

Kiffin, who was 4-12 in his first season as coach, has two years remaining on his contract at an estimated $2 million per year.

i dont know, martz wants a certain type of QB, and if alex smith isnt it, he'll definitely find one elsewhere.

I just wanted to give hope to the idea that Mad Mike won't be stuck in that shitty 9ers job.

where are all the roy williams rumors coming from?

i'll be soooo pissed if the Lions trade him for anything less than a 1st round pick. He's a proven talent in this league and after him the Lions WR corps drops off to calvin johnson (COULD be great but largely unproven) and mike furrey. ugh.

i hate being a lions fan. i wish i could stop.

fire millen :(

I think it'd hilarious that Kiffin refused to resign and actually dared Davis to fire him. That shows some real balls. If only he could have drafted a quality QB to build the franchise around.

Actually that shows a man that still wants to get paid. Fired means you get your contract, resigned means you don't.
