Tiger got told. There's no guarantee any of his mistresses won't want more money from him for staying quiet or that they won't write "tell all" books of their own.

I never knew Tiger Woods was even worth that much! I love the judicial system.
yes, Tiger is worth well above $1 billion.

Seriously. These laws need some serious rethinking. She doesn't even come close to deserving even a fraction of that amount.

And I don't even like him or what he did. That is completely beside the point.

I can atleast sorta understand in the case of Juanita Jordan. She'd been with MJ for decades, she raised his kids and provided countless amounts of support in countless ways. What did Elin do in the few years they've been together?

Jordan's marriage was less than 13 years, Woods' was 7... that's not really a huge difference, both had children involved.

edit: oh I'm sorry, it was 16 years.

:lol let me put it this way, any woman that marries a celebrity male and complains about cheating deserves as much sympathy as an adult that likes to stick utensils into electrical outlets. People that have sympathy for these gals are doing them a disservice b/c the underlying premise is, you really think these wives are that stupid or naive to think they're celeb man is actually faithful. Ya'll act like Elin 100% fell in love with Tiger and his status or money had nothing to do with her decision to date him. It would not surprise me if she is a shallow person as well.

Not 750 million's worth. The lady is fucking psychotic.

At this rate, people are going to be signing prenups for every marriage.

:lol to put things in perspective, you can lose both your legs or get paralyzed from the neck down in a subway accident and the city wouldn't give you fuck near $750mill.

Any male celebrity who gets caught cheating shouldn't be crying because the woman he married is taking half of his money. He was stupid enough to marry her. He also could have manned the fuck up and got a divorce when he figured out that being a husband and father wasn't working for him.

Not Elin's fault that she married a stupid, rich, loser.

I'm not familiar with the specific divorce laws in Florida (I assume that is where this case is being handled because Tiger Woods lives in Florida), but Tiger knew what he was getting into when he decided to get married and he clearly did not think the money issue was as big an issue as some of you are making it out to be or he would have conducted himself in a different manner entirely - it is not reasonable to make the assumption that Tiger Woods wasn't aware of the risks because it is clear that he tried to keep his aberrant behavior a secret. You should consider a different perspective. The dollar amount is irrelevant because the way the law is applied here is simply a formality of divorce.

Yes, if they are worth enough for it to matter, they probably should. Far too few people enter into marriage with genuinely objective impartiality.

At this point, wealthy men won't be getting married period. Then what will women like Elin do for money? Watch feminists complain about that situation too. :lol

wealthy men have no business getting married.

there's just about nothing in it for them that they can't get outside of marriage.

you're just GIVING your wealth away by getting married.

where's Tom Leykis when you need him!

Exactly. It's just like how in most states a woman can simply accuse a man of sexual harassment and get a huge payoff regardless of what the evidence is, and completely ruin a man's career. Same with family law and other areas from what I've read. Too bad "equal rights" really means the exact opposite.

Irregardless of what you think of Tiger, there's no question that this money could be put to much better use.

Elin's plan was to marry a rich stupid loser. She's a shallow ex-model with breast implants. This works out 100% for her. And I agree with the bolded, Tiger's a jackass in his own right. I'm just not feeling the moral police and media being hypocrites. People cheat- both men and women, it happens! I know people IRL that have cheated in the past and get on their high horse about Tiger. They just happened to slip up once and think they're better because Tiger had 14+ chicks. Well if they were in his shoes they'd have slipped up more than once. And the media can definitely gtfo of here, especially the newscasters and fellow athletes that have criticized Woods.

nah. IIRC, she was just working as a maid and was introduced to Tiger by a mutual friend. went from there.

prenups have limits and can be overridden depending on the circumstances. they are NOT the final word in divorces in a court of law or in settlement talks.

Haha, sometimes you feel kind of bad when the man gets fucked over but the hell with Tiger Woods. I don't feel sorry for him.

It worries me that a number of women I meet, they always define they want successful men.

If success means just burning all the money I have, then what the fuck? Is this what female-male relationships are all about these days?

Money? Really? Why the fuck do people need to get married and have children if the basis of marriage is all about money?

If those implants net me 750 mil, yeah.

In the end, though, who gives a fuck? Both of them will have enough money to live like kings the rest of their lives. She's not going to spend a fraction of that 750 million. The only injustice I see is their worthless children becoming filthy rich after their parents die, which is rather unfair*.

*unfair because I'm full of envy

Everybody is shallow. We all look for the best in a partner be it wealth, looks, potential. Saying Elin is a shallow golddigger because she married Tiger is ridiculous. He chose her. He proposed. She didn't trap him in some pregnancy scam, she didn't blackmail him into marrying her. Tiger is also choosing to give her the money in the settlement. He's buying her silence because he has something to hide. He's the only one to blame for what happened to him.

You know whose fault this is? Tiger's. And no one else's. What does him being a celebrity have to do with him cheating on his wife?

You might be right about everything you say about her, but this is entirely Tiger's fault that he's in a position where he has to pay her that much money.

Exactly. Also whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? People are saying that he put his family "in danger" -- but that's bullshit unless she can prove she was ACTUALLY HARMED. Subway puts me "in danger" every day, doesn't mean the city should pay me $100m.

I would argue that the fact that their tuna salad tastes exactly the same as ham and swiss is easily worth $100M.

HOW THE FUCK DOES A PERSON GET THAT MUCH MONEY BY HITTING A LITTLE BALL?
everyone watches. everyone is willing to pay to watch. corporations see people paying to watch and pay to get into everyone's line of sight as Tiger swings. a large cross-section of those watching are wealthy, making access to that audience even more valuable.

simple, huh?

it's not just about seeking attention. it's about career advancement, glass ceilings, self-esteem, and overall happiness.

I'm with you 100%, I'm laughing at Tiger too and think he's a jackass. I just don't believe in demonizing him. When I troll Elin, I'm just playing devil's advocate b/c people act like she's a virgin angel maiden.

You're really making yourself look bitter and stupid and god only knows why you're defending a man that couldn't give two shits about you. He doesn't even care for his wife or kids so this white knighting for Tiger and infidelity is quite mind boggling.

Man, there had better be some really fucked up shit, like, illegal fucked up shit for him to pay that much to keep her quiet. With all the stuff that's already out there, I don't think he would care about Elin blabbing about an orgy in the backyard.

smh
Think of all the hookers and Ambian he could have bought with this money.
Jeter will be fine; he's at a good age now. The key is not to do it before you hit ~35 and just party your rich fucking ass off until you actually get sick of loose women who don't care about you and then you'll want a wife and family.
