Elizabeth Warren 2016

Finally, one man brave enough to stand up against the pervasive problem of 'drive by' political posts, by using such articulate and persuasive arguments as "homegirl needs a lesson in tax something-or-other."

How is sophomore philosophy going? Have you read 12 pages of Hagel yet?

The person in reference makes reference to banker's dick size, and I'm sophomoric for using the term homegirl? lol

The majority of the posts in this thread and every other political thread here are drive by posts, and one day when you start your own forum you can moderate posts like mine. Enjoy the stay.

Had you posted something more like the first paragraph instead of opening with the 'sheep' remark you would not have brought such posts on yourself. Or if you had, you could have at least continued to hold the high ground without resorting to the political arguing you loathe. The quote is simplistic, but that's what tends to happen when you are quoted on the internet.

Very true, but don't worry about me...I can handle the responses full of animated gifs and wiki links and "learn how to internet"...

All Elizabeth Warren does for me is remind me that people will jump at any red meat.

She reminds me that there are people in politics that still care for the wellbeing of humanity and will genuinely strive towards improving it based on grounds with evidence.

Her existence and perseverance is comforting.

This is exactly what I get from her. I've loved everything I've seen from her, so I think I would most definitely vote for her if she ran.

Who are the big ones for 2016? Cuomo? Richardson? O'Malley?

I can't even think of any big Senators who in the Democratic caucus who would be a Marco Rubio type.

I'm almost positive she'll be our first female President, should she prevail in Massachusetts. Although 2020 might be more likely. 2016 means she wouldn't even have served a full term. Not that that stopped Obama, though...

The Democrats would be stupid not to let her speak at the convention this year.

She's kinda too old to wait until 2020. If she's ever going to run, 2016 will probably be her only chance, and she will have such an uphill battle against the establishment.

Stewart and Colbert would probably raise money for her if not a single business gives her money, but that wouldn't be enough to beat Hilary's fundraising power.

I don't agree with her at all politically, no thanks.

You don't agree with the only thing she's done, which is try to create consumer protections to get rid of loopholes for false advertising and the practice of fine print and 50 page mortgages where they can "gotcha!" people who don't have good lawyers?

She'll be 67 in 2016, with barely any experience or name recognition.

Wiki says she used to be a Republican in the early 90's. Probably a big Reagan fan. Looks like she switched parties to fit in with the Harvard elitists.

It doesn't take a historian to know that the majority of tax rev (which as you know pays for things like education and construction) doesn't come from "the rest of us". The same applies to charitable giving. Nor should a woman with a gargantuan pension funded by the endowment of those she is attempting to vilify, use the term "the rest of us".
Man, after all that pretense, it seems like you misunderstood her all along. Pretty sure "rest of us" is contrasted to "on his own", meaning everyone but you*, not us plebeians. It's an argument against the people that act as though they've become wealthy in isolation.

* obviously the individual person pays some amount of taxes as well, but that's besides the point.
