Elon Musk: Path of Exile 2 is the love child of Elden Ring and Diablo

Just not feeling it with this one rn. "Wake up on some beach" intro. Night time, it's raining. Oh look, the undead. Now where have we seen that before? Get to the city hub, players running all over the place. UI a bit overwhelming. Skill tree bigger than a Redwood. Global chat is toxic when asking for simple help and we aren't even getting started yet. Been there done that. Jokes/sarcasms aside, not sure what Elon was thinking per comparison(s) to DS. Diablo 4 yeah, probably. Animation(s) in this game are really well done but the controls and combat are jank af, smh. Your character runs at enemies to attack. I was rolling a Merc and he kept running towards the enemies. Using kbm control, the hold-Shift-to-attack-while-stopped doesn't seem to work 100%. If switching to gamepad (XBox or Dualsense) the attack button is not working. Will give it some time to cook though. For now? Refunded.

Well, I thought the same but they introduced a wasd + mouse style of movement (like a twin stick shooter) and you get a roll with i-frames. There are less enemies but they are a bit more tough, so in a way it is a bit more soulsy.
That certainly makes a bit more sense now.

The vitriol and lack of nuance around Musk is weird. I don't particularly care about the guy, so I mostly just ignore him. Some people seem to REALLY, obsessively hate him, and this manifests with them having to discredit every single thing he's ever done and conflate even mild support from others with blind fanaticism. Half of the posts trashing him read like the equivalent of "lol, he's a doody head" except the poster unironically thinks they're saying something profound. (This isn't to say there are no valid criticisms of him -- there are also people here making those.)

The funny thing is it's a love/hate relation for a lot of people.

Ask any Tesla owner if they hate Musk. I guarantee you many will say so. Yet they buy their expensive EV cars. And some probably use Paypal too. Another product Musk helped create.

It's really no different than when people claim they support a certain side of the spectrum (ie. national pride and support the local economy), but then do the opposite (buy cheap shit from China and India).

I guarantee you people say one thing, but act or spend differently.

Not the YouTuber
No he's a shameless grifter that doesn't give 2 shits about humanity. He cares about stroking his ego and his back pocket.

Look how he went from Mr Electric car to helping elect a government that thinks climate change is a hoax.

There is countless videos on YouTube debunking the stuff "He's" done. But I'll just leave this here.

Why do you people think he ‘personally’ need to have done anything like physically building the rockets.

He promises the world and keeps pushing until they do get there even if he overshoots by years the shit his companies do is complex.

I now have a car that I can drive for FREE on a 6 hour round trip to my holiday house which also never had service but now has 250Mbps connection in the middle of no where in Australia where I can work and function from where even cell phone tower reception is non existent thanks to Starlink.

The concept of even reusing rockets a few years ago was insane but here we are, the same as a decade ago electric cars being the mainstream yet here we are, having reliable internet connection any location on the globe? Yet here we are… all things his companies archived.

Doing that rocket relanding would probably take NASA a trillion dollars and another 50 years to do.

Any traffic routed through Starlink is extremely easy for them to track. It’s no different than any terrestrial network in that regard. They know exactly which terminal is connecting to what satellite at all times. Your data can be encrypted if you wish, but you can do that with any basic Internet connection. Sure they can try and make it a truly anonymous network via various obfuscation methods but ultimately I see little reason why they would bother. They are also a company interested in making money so they comply with any countries government who they offer services in.
Yeah no shit. That's what I said in my comment:

It's a matter of protocols used.

Starlink uses conventional internet protocols (like TC/IP) and standard routing mechanisms that are easily trackable.

If Starlink changed that to new onion routing protocols where every node encrypts and decrypts a layer of the data package, they could achieve protocoll-level anonymization like TOR.

The important part:

Starlink's space-based infrastructure with its low-latency satellite mesh is perfectly suited for TOR-like operation. Much better than the real TOR. The laser signals are hard to intercept and the relay nodes are physically inaccessible. Also, the satellites are in movement. Routes would change as nodes keep moving through space.

Why would they though? From a business standpoint it makes little sense. It massively slows down your connection speed due to the way the routing and overhead works. Most users simply don’t care. Route changing, using lasers, and being inaccessible doesn’t really matter. Starlink would still know exactly which base connects to which satellite at all times.

Elon is the government now.

Yah know, I have a painfully neutral to "I don't give a fuck" opinion on Elon. He does rocket things and EV cars. I am though constantly suspicious how people went all "Bitch eating crackers" on him and portray him as arch duke Satan since he smashed the authoritarian left's echo chamber Twitter. Many were the same people that verbally fellated him back in the early 2010s. Now, everything he does and say is just the worst to a segment of people. Like... let's be real, he shit on their kickball field and now it's a blood vendetta for a bunch of unhinged assholes.

This is a bad take on why he’s decided to involve himself in government. He thinks he can manipulate and influence a very fragile, venal man into doing what he wants him to do. He’s very probably right.

Wonder if he’ll make it to release without being assassinated? Pass the popcorn.

(Not saying I wish that on him, I do wish he’d get back to being sane and being involved great tech stuff again though)

Because what you just posted is more "sane" than what Elon's been doing with his life.

They all thought his cars were fantastic spaceships when he was on their side politically. Now they are pieces of shit since he aligned with the Orange man.

I'm torn between choosing Diablo IV or Path of Exile 2.
Path of Exile 2 seems to have the edge in terms of gameplay quality, but it's still in early access. On the other hand, Diablo IV might not be as popular, but it offers a complete experience along with an expansion.
What do you all think?

Excuse my ignorance... but what the hell does this type of game have to do with souls?
You click enemies from isometric view. It's not skill based. It's math based. It's a completely different type of game

Play the game and you'll see. The Warrior class at least, feels very Souls-like. You control the character with WASD or an analog stick just like Souls, you need to learn boss patterns and dodge to avoid death, it has a dodge roll, it's way slower paced through the campaign as well. It isn't 100% Souls which is why he says it's the love child of Diablo as well.

Yup, Elon is a big fan of PoE2. He even streamed from his private jet using Starlink, to demonstrate Starlink internet speed

Starlink isn't exclusive to his private jet btw, there are a few commercial airlines that now have contracts with them so it's starting to be rolled out.
