End of year Hype Check - What are your most anticipated games?

Suicide Squad is probably my most hype rn, because we finally saw gameplay. And i thought it looked fun.

GOW 2 & BOTW 2, because the first ones are so great.

early hype for Wolverine & Wonder Woman. Because the studios behind them made Spider-Man & Shadow of Mordor respectively. Two games i really enjoy.

Starfield because im an idiot and am still holding hope that Bethesda won't disappoint. But i wont be surprised if this is a Fallout/Cyberpunk style crash and burn.

tentative hype for the 007, Indiana Jones, Hogwarts Legacy & Avatar. I really want those to be good.

I like the first Horizon but nothing i've seen has me too hype yet.

the new 3D sonic and the Kirby games look interesting. Splatoon 3 isn't doing it for me yet. I love the original but Splatoon 2 didn't grab me.

and hopefully e3 we see this Ubisoft Star Wars game.

In this order:
  • God of War: Ragnarok
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Avatar
  • Hogwart's Legacy
  • Sifu
  • Little Devil Inside
  • Starfield
  • Dying Light 2
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Replaced
  • Stray
  • Plague's Tale Requiem

I'm looking forward to Hitman 3 coming to Steam next month. I've had to wait a year for it. Wanna do a complete play-through of all three Hitman games and try and get all the challenges. I've only ever played the first two levels of Hitman 1.

Otherwise, also looking forward to Starfield, the Plague Tale sequel, Elden Ring and Rocksteady's Suicide Squad (even if it does only star the Suicide Squad). Stuff like Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy could end up being fun too.

I’m a little worried about the release date of Starfield being so close to the end of the year, what with Covid, which has recently buggered up the football Premier League. Fingers crossed it comes out as planned, but I’m not hanging my hat on it, especially due to its scale.

Elden Ring
Horizon Forbidden West
Plague Tale Requiem
Starfield
Stalker 2
Songs of Conquest

Elden Ring is a must, and nothing comes closer to it.

Second would be GranBlue Fantasy Relink.

And third would be this Dragon Quest new release.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre
Evil Dead
Sifu
Midnight Fight Express
Space Marine 2
Darktide
Hogwarts Legacy

Too many to list honestly. Next year will be one of the heavies.

Splatoon 3
BotW 2
God of War 2
Starfield
FFXVI
Kirby

I'm also looking forward to many of the other games you listed like Project EVE. I'm not exactly hyped on it, but I'll probably get it day 1 if it's not $70.

I'm getting Elden Ring day 1, but for some reason I'm not hyped on it. I'm sure it'll be amazing, but they stick pretty closely to their usual formula so I feel like I know what I'm in for.

Far as I can tell Elden Ring is the last video game being made.

Gabe and Hideo walk toward door. Stop and looks back. Throws keys to Miyazaki: “hey kid, turn the lights off and lock up when you’re done”
Nope. Just before the animation plays after you consume the final boss soul it fades to black.
Don’t stop believing plays and the credits roll. What a Journey

Breath of the Wild 2 it’s been 5 years since the first and Nintendo is sitting on a AAA game having customers second guessing if they should get a switch now for a last gen port or wait for the potential next gen console and BOTW2. It’s just a bad scenario because at least Sony and Microsoft got their consoles out and Nintendo is forcing a AAA game like Breath of the Wild 2 on Switch’s horrible hardware.

Starfield, System Shock remake, Diablo 4 and Stalker 2. I'm also potentially interested in the new God Of War but only if it plays well on a base PS4 (which is what I have).

Breath of the Wild 2 and Elden Ring are both number 1.

Starfield, I love Bathesda games but the space theme doesn’t do much for me. I’ll probably enjoy it as much as Fallout but TES is their best work IMO. High fantasy is the best setting.

Splatoon 3 is a known quality that will give me some good return in terms of playing hours.

Horizon and God of War, I will platinum both. Yeah, like Splatoon, known quality.

A Plague Tale, I’m hyped for. Loved the first. Can’t wait for this.

Just Starfield and Elden Ring for now. There are others I want to check out but nothing I'm actively anticipating.

2022 is gonna be insane. Only February is Sifu looking sweet, then Horizon Forbidden West binge right into ELDEN RING that I'll be most likely re-playing for months to come. That's already an incredible year.
And then most likely God of War Ragnarok, followed by Xbox bombs of autumn/winter - Starfield (please be good) and hopefully Hellblade 2.

All that + killer indie/AA lineup all around - Replaced, Little Devil Inside, Plague Tale 2, Somerville, Stray, The Last Faith, SCORN and so many more...

squeezing in Dying Light 2, Ghostwire:Tokyo and STALKER 2 perhaps?

Imagine Factions 2 coming on top of all this Q3/Q4. New Ueda game? Next playdead? Oh and what about PSVR2?

Too Much Reaction GIF
