Compressed Air Tank is so much fun to use. BTW, as you were using it, did you notice whether the
shark fin
(tagging in case anyone wants to be surprised) moved as you moved the reticle or right joy stick? I thought that might have been the case but I'm not positive.

One maybe-not-so-surprisingly-great synergy I found in my last run was scattershot + Magic Lamp. With a large boss like Dragun where each every bullet will connect, each shot was spawning a genie that did a bunch of damage.

Also, I've come to appreciate the Pilot more and more as the best character in the game. Yeah, the Rogue Special is garbage, but slightly cheaper shop prices and room for a 2nd active item are invaluable once you get beyond the 2nd floor.
 
Convicts past killed. 2 To go. That was the smoothest run yet and the first time I even used her. Her 5 shot pistols good even in chamber 4. Hexagun is God tier. And meat boy gun was awesome for dragun. Constant stream of hits and can shoot as fast as you can press the button


Still never been hit on his second phase. Nice they go easy on you other past sections though lol
 
Have kind of put off playing this until the PS4 gets some of that patch love.

EDIT: Speaking of, dev confirmed on reddit that all patches released on PC are now in cert for PS4 coming as one patch.
 
I really suck at this game but I really love it. Have a hard time getting to the second level (did a patch make it tougher, or do I just suck), but I'll keep practicing.

All I want out of the patch is to fix the crashing. The game has crashed on me 10+ times, a lot of times were on deep runs too. Game just crashed on floor 5 on me and I had some of my favorite weapons :/
 
I can get to floor 4 every time without any issue now, but I seem to have a serious mental block with floor 4, just can't get past it :-/

Just the amount of enemies and projectiles, I can't seem to get a good enough run to be able to learn all the new enemies and there projectile / firing patterns.

It'll come with time, but it's going to take a while!
 
Patch 1.0.6 released on Steam:


  • Teleporters will no longer spawn in the way of traps (rolling logs or projectile traps)
  • Performance improvements for the Forge
  • The Lead God acheivement now correctly unlocks the Super Hot Watch
  • Map zoom level will no longer reset each floor
  • Fixed an issue where enemies could spawn inside of sarcophagi
  • Fixed a problem where homing modifiers would cause genade launcher rounds to angle away from targets
  • Chests and health pickups now have more descriptive icons on the map
  • Decreased the quality of the Chaos Ammolet (will spawn more often in lower level chests and less often in black chests)
  • Pushing a table into another room will no longer cause it to become invisible
  • Fixed an issue with reflected bullet directions for some enemy projectiles
  • Fixed an issue where the Kill Pillars could be injured from blanks fired in adjacent rooms
  • Fixed an issue where the electric guitar would fire extremely quickly if you left an amp on the previous floor
  • Blizzbulons that die in pits will no longer reappear when you reenter the room
  • Homing modifiers will no longer allow the Black Hole Gun projectiles to live forever
  • Fixed a visual bug that occurs when completing <REDACTED> (final secret floor)
  • Players can no longer get stuck on Trorc's (truck merchant's) display in the Breach
  • The cop will no longer immediately die if acquired in the Forge
  • Gun selection hotkeys on the keyboard now only affect the player using the keyboard (in coop)

Unfortunately the Super Hot Watch didn't auto-unlock despite having Lead God already completed. Looks like some of us will have to do it over again, although once you get Boss Rush unlocked it makes it a whole lot easier.
 
Just had to fight the 5th chamber boss with the marine starter pistol. Almost won the battle but couldn't
kill the knives fast enough and got overwhelmed.
I managed to get 1/4 of his health off with the
Raiden Coil
first.
 
Made it to the Kill Pillars for the first time

nearly got them too by spamming bees and going to the corner but ran out at the last moment

That sounds like an awesome synergy. I can't for the life of me aim well at bosses with lamp on PS4 though, it's like the shot speed is too slow and the aim-assist messes it up.

That's true, it's hard to argue that he's not the best once you're past the first couple floors and never have to use the rogue special again (unless you get some bad gun luck). But man the first floor with him is the most miserable thing

I think this answers the question from a few pages back on whether each chest level has a fixed item pool. It seems that in fact any item can spawn in any chest but it's all controlled with probabilities, ie it's very unlikely for a high quality item to spawn in a low level chest and vice versa.

Has anyone ever gotten a low quality item from a rare chest? Don't think it's possible.

The same thing happened to me the one and only time I found it. I think you have to do something specific to access it but I don't know what it is. If anyone chimes in spoiler tag it please.
 
Is there any way to suss out a secret room beyond just shooting randomly at walls? Is there even one for every floor? I don't understand the logic to them unlike something like Binding of Isaac where there is a pattern for both secret rooms and super secret rooms.
 
I unlocked one of the hidden characters
(Bullet) last night and its starting weapon is a game changer since it destroys bullets. I'm still not exactly sure how his passive works
. It's nice to have a change in pace in playstyles though, I wish we had a few more characters to chose from.

Also, the Airstrike active is so good.

edit. Patch 1.02 is up on PS4
 
Just got the new patch downloaded. I have lost all progress. I am beyond pissed. Everything is back to vanilla state.

Edit.I used the Download from the cloud from 2 days ago. Everything is still wiped.

Yeah just figured I'd give a shout out as I'm going to assume this is not intended? Seeing it starting to pop up on twitter so appears to not be an isolated incident on my end.

I can't get it to load my old save, so maybe hold that update if you're playing on PS4 and don't want to lose progress. :/

Yeah it wont load my save either. Hope they fix this fast. I have over 60 odd runs on this game all over the 30 min mark.
 
Yep. All progress is gone. 50 hours down the drain, almost everything unlocked. Awesome. I will never play this again if they don't fix it. How do you fuck up so bad? Like, holy shit

I copied my cloud save from yesterday to USB and PS4 and it didn't help.
 
is there any way to get the game more easy? what I mean is, I played almost 10 hours and can't past the third gungeon floor. I keep dying but I unlock quite a few npc and some weapons in the shop in the breach but yet, monster at lvl 3 keep killing me because there are too many of them and the second boss usualy beat my ass a lot.
 
Someone from DodgeRoll reacted to the PS4 patch issue on reddit:

Hey everyone, we're rolling back the patch on PS4 now, if you have 1.02 on the dashboard (which will show up at 1.0.5 in game) you should be getting an update to go back very shortly. It seems the issue is in trying to locate the save file, so there shouldn't be any lost progress, though we will need to fix this patch before we can apply it again. Sorry for the scare!
