Don't you have 3 Titan Blacks? Haha.

Yes but I am of course an outlier. The i7 line has been around for years and so has 4GB on a GPU. The 670 came out what...almost 3 years ago?
I just thought there was some humor in your response and your situation
Personally I'm rocking a 3570k and 4GB 770, I'm fully expecting 60fps out of this game.
People thinking these specs are high shows just how long we were handcuffed by the last gen consoles.
So I appear to have a fairly weak GPU (GeForce GTX 645) but I believe it has 4gigs of VRAM, so maybe it's not as crap as I think it is? Didn't realize 4gb vram was such a big deal. I only got an i5 tho, not an i7. I'm guessing I'm going to stick with PS4.
ehhhhhhhh 4GB Ram being recommended without any context to what that means does not reflect on last gen consoles.
Especially if games which look XXX times better (read Crysis 3) do not require nearly as much VRAM. We need more context before saying, "toughen up guys, 4GB VRam makes sense."

If Wolfenstein is anything to go by, just ignore that i7 thing.
Which probably also means we'll be fine with 2GB cards. Not max settings fine, but it's also likely they were exaggerating when they said you should have 4GB anyway.
The panic is too stronk though and I also went nuts, so it's understandable.
Is the game 30 or 60fps on PS4?
Crysis 3 and CryEngine was still built around last gen consoles.

As this game and its engine, even more so.
So was IDTech 5.
besides textures, what else would one have to turn down for less vram?
Are we sure these aren't like the RYSE specs, which were for maxing the game out in like 4k?
I don't believe that it'll take 4gb VRAM to hit 1080p/60 with this game. It'll run exactly like Wolfenstein.
I knew people who insisted that you wouldn't need more than 2 GB of VRAM for 1080p were nuts.
It's the models, shadow maps, textures, light maps, and everything else that takes up the space, not just the frame buffer.
The reason you never needed more two years ago was that everything was designed for Xbox 360 and PS3.
I hope this game fails commercially.
Wasn't Wolf:TNO an i7 recomended requirement?
I know a few people with i5s that ran it fine.

Oh my, those spec's seem to be screaming "crappy port incoming", An i7 with four plus cores? So you're tell me this game, that is going to be on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One will need 8 cores on the PC?
Actually, let's roll this back.
i7 with four plus cores.... wtf? So you mean 12 cores?????? LOL
I think I'm going to ask GMG for my money back and get it on the PS4 now.
Is there a difference list between the PS3 and PS4 versions yet?
I assume it's just resolution and maybe framerate?

Perhaps we're seeing why.I'm so glad so few games make use of id tech 5
You're going to get your money back and run it on a shittier machine? I'm not sure I see how that makes much sense.
This game looks on par with mid-cycle PS360 games, why would it need that much of VRAM?
Sorry but asking a sane man to to put his luxurious 4GB VRAM in use on shitty looking games is as hostile as killing his dearly beloved pet.
I hope this game fails commercially.
I guess someone never heard of a decent game running fine on a console, only to be ported to the PC and run like crap. Ever play Saint Rows 2, Bully or even GTA 4 to name a few?
Don't get me wrong I'm all for playing multiplatform games on my PC, I even put out for 2x GTX 970's. But I had bad ports and judging from those specs there is something amiss here. There is zero reason to recommend an i7 over an i5 for games. I don't know one PC game that utilizes more than 4 threads currently.
Looks like the requirements of an IDTech 5 game. You don't *need* 4GB's of VRAM for the game to run or to even pull 60FPS. Since IDTech 5 goes heavy on the streaming, the more you have the less texture pop in you'll experience. Those specs feel like some hot unoptimised garbage. The hell?

You forgot how much id and Carmack focused on consoles with Rage it seems, to the point of the PC version suffering somewhat.Crysis 3 and CryEngine was still built around last gen consoles.
