EVO points feel so fraudulent, but so goooooood.

This previous weekend encompassed a trip through 3 different cities and 2 tournaments with 13+ hours of driving and a 4-hour nap at a rest area this morning. So worth it. Hype levels critical!

PS: RoachKing says his pool is free. :O lol

God damn, if they think they can run a KoF bracket that huge in the time frame then they've got no excuse what so ever not to make Marvel 3 out of 5.

Are you going to steal a large one fo me homey? :O

I have no idea what you are talking about, sir.

Jan and Stone have good seeds. Jan should have placed much higher at CEO, though. He basically gave that game away to Quandizzle. I will run them through the meat grinder before they leave.

Free mind fuck.. Roach King might very well be the 4th best player in his pool.

HAHHAHAHHA that some old school MVC2 black bracket of death.

SF4, Marvel, and KOF all over 1k is really good to see.

MK9 having the 2nd highest prize pool with lowest entrants just equal total lulz.

Does anyone know when the brackets will be up again? I'm trying to find myself, but apparently they seem to have taken the names down.

Slasher is reporting that Latif does have EVO points but registered with another email. Latif is most likely moved to another pool and not play Daigo.

How did you get so many EVO points, or do you just have like 10 and everyone else has <10?
Yep. 1st=50, 2nd=25, 3rd=10, 4th and below = 1.

If I would have beaten Eddie (Toomuchdamage) in losers finals at MWC (we go back and forth a lot, I put him in losers), I would have possibly had his 8th place seed instead.

This is what happens when the players with letters in front of their names don't feel like showing up to the last chance at EVO points, heh.

Yo, you guys should drop by the Dothan tournament on Saturday. I won't be able to make it myself but I'm trying to plug it to as many regional scenes as I can 'cause this is their first attempt at reaching out and getting solid events going on a regular basis. Search "Circle City Championships" on SRK / Facebook. Already gave FullSchedule and Shoultz a heads-up.

KOF entrants are high due to the free shirt. An ingenious "pot bonus" on Atlus' part, imo.

Yeah, I've been trying to get people to go since I drive up there myself on occasion but most people work later in the day on Saturday. Still know a few more people I'm gonna try.

I wonder how many viewers at once and total views for the stream will be. Last year I remember we peaked @ 50k at once and total views where 110k

Public service announcement:

With the discovery of the Trish TAC infinite, it seems that a new exploit is figured out within the TAC mechanic that is allowing players to basically ignore the HSD and perform infinites. This is NOT Trish exclusive anymore, the Japanese are going in HARD with this technology and they have discovered a Magneto infinite after a TAC.

I just saw the video... and holy fucking crap my body was not ready for this.

For those who want to applaud Capcom for supporting this even with money, well pretty much only SF4 got real money. 9k for SFxT is basically entrance fees. I'm sure the EVO staff threw in $40 just to make it a even 9k. I think UMVC3 being 15k had more to do with the EVO staff throwing in the extra dough and not Capcom, just my guess though. Only SF4 got a pot bonus of nearly 10k to bump it up to 25k total.

Maybe most of you guys won't agree with me but I wish they had bumped the entry fee up to $20. This is suppose to be the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. Where the best from all over the world come to compete. It's the one tournament that people who never travel to majors would plan a vacation around. I've always thought of EVO like the World Series of Poker or the Super Bowl. $10 should be the standard at your local major, but I think for a event like EVO, it should be a little higher. It would have been nice to say 25k+ for UMVC3 or 40k+ for SF4.

Ban it!!!

Rayzyrbyrn (WNF / TRB local) is much more of a threat in pool I4 than Red Rapper.

I also found some mods on SRK but I guess they are not really notables...

Falcomist for I7 (Norcal Jill player. Yes JILL!)

Ytwojay in pool I14 (imo probably the favorite to make it out).

Updated again, threw your name into the pastebin too.

I'm almost tempted to do lists for the other games but not tonight since it's late.

I used to feel this way but I'm not so sure anymore. I think it's more about just having the most participants possible than the money.
