I'm gonna assume you meant "Why did Sony choose Capcom over Namco?". To answer that, Street Fighter is the glue of the FGC. The fact that SFV got over 5000 entrants & was chosen to be featured on ESPN2 should be enough proof for that.

If I recall, the deal was mainly between EVO & ESPN. Obviously Capcom would have to sign off on SFV being televised. But unless there's something we don't know about the deal, Mr. Wizard could have gone with any of the Sunday games.
