Then give them unlockables in other regards that won't screw with gameplay. As I said earlier, unlockable characters hold back casual get-togethers, as well.
I can't speak for everyone but I never had that problem with casual get-togethers for Brawl and Smash 4 because everyone I knew actually spend their times to unlock everything so they could have it ready for parties and hangouts. Also they really enjoys to unlock the stuff as well. I would imagine that it's same thing for many people because unlocking contents is best motivation for some people to finish single players contents.
Also I think they should offers 2 dollars unlock key on ESHOP for people to unlock everything for competitively scenes.
Awful schedule for what is the second biggest game of the event.
Only half of the available setups were used in pools.
Not all setups had every stage unlocked.
Terrible... I have no experience being at EVO, but did they ever bother to double check with all setups before they went live?
I know in this case, apparently not.
