While I agree & am enjoying the matches, you can't deny that the general audience (even at Evo itself) loves it when players choose different/blackhorse characters.

It's surreal that competitive SF is on nationwide TV, but it'd be even better for its perception if fate had dictated a wider variety of character-specialists made it to top 8.

People still have the USF4 2015 mentality. Cast size is still pretty small, even less when you take away the DLC characters that people really haven't had long to practice with. Having 2 and 3 of a character making top 8 isn't a problem.

If this is a success, I'd be shocked if Capcom & Sony don't strike another deal for the Capcom Cup. The only issue is any potential overlap with football or basketball season.
