Ok makes sense cause smash broke 200k last year. Was the most viewed game.

Wonder if that will mean that they want to change up Venues or if something needs to be discussed to try and make things more reasonable. Hell knows that the price difference is definitely showing if the registration numbers and the supposed "empty seats" mean anything.

It's a combo of this and smash actually being watchable on tv as well, so viewership is going to be split by that as well
For perspective, they were selling 1 day spectator passes at the door on Friday for $40. I entered 2 games and paid $100 for reg. That doesn't include the 50+ dollars for Sunday tickets.
I'm staying at Mandalay and the hotel alone for 3 nights is >600.
Food prices in the venue are also outrageous. We're talking $8 for an 8oz Red Bull.
All of this plays a large role in making this year's Evo prohibitively expensive for a lot of folks. There's less new game sheen this year, too.

That was Melee, but Smash Wii U community is comparable. It would have easily blown past Tekken numbers.

The TV and twitch stream have different announcers.
I love Smash 4 so much more than Melee, but I get why people wouldn't be super into it

I would argue Captain Zack is considered better.
On Twitch it was. Overall SFV was the most watched EVO game across both Twitch and ESPN.

I wonder if that's the reason a lot of people just didn't return after last year. Because that one had a lot of newcomers.
Smash 4 last year, prime slot, Saturday finals: 71k
Melee this year, prime slot, Saturday finals: 128k

You'll have to compare how Smash 4 does in primetime this year too, but it will be kinda hard since Twitch is down.
I assume kid friendly announcers but the actual EVO guys sound pro enough.
Saturday is the opposite of a prime slot.
