What they may find, however, is a new audience that may not mind on PlayStation. Otherwise, PC and Xbox people will gripe and it’s completely understandable.

Yeah, I’m having a hard time believing they’d leave out multiplayer. It may be a condensed version of all 3 games but Gears multiplayer was revolutionary even if it wasn’t my cup of tea.

I keep my xbox 360 because of some remaining exclusives, gears trilogy being one of these. yes. Even gears 1 is unique, better than pc version and ultimate ediiton.
But there are also some more stuck exclusives on there. But it's Gears and The darkness that make me keep the old 360 around. Even Dead Rising found it's way off of it

Gears without multi means easier platinum. I was always in the group (minority?) who played only singleplayer so that's good news.
Same here, and I don't think we were the minority. Gears competitive MP was fucking vicious and it required players to spend a lot of time getting really good. For new players coming in, it was punishing.
No competitive MP is fine, but I assume that also means no Horde mode? That's a bummer. Some of my best Gears memories are Horde with friends.

Maybe I should have qualified it with "for me, it's fine" to more clearly indicate I was referring to personal preference? I never got into the competitive multiplayer so I don't care if it's not included. From an objective standpoint, I get it if other people do not agree.
I can also understand from a business perspective it probably doesn't make sense to build MP servers/systems for these older games and then put out a new game next year that has it. This is probably intended to get people excited about E-Day. If they give these older games the full MP treatment, there will be some players who are happy to play the old games and skip E-Day.
As always, everyone should vote with their wallet.

Oh that's good. We can get another person to play with us in the regular story mode then of course. So that is fun. I remember a lot of times on Xbox 360 playing the story of Gears of War 1 or 2 or 3 with some random other gamer. So it will for sure be fun to bring along and have that still available.

Gears multiplayer is good and something to applaud, in my personal opinion there’s chaos surrounding Xbox games on PlayStation. My advise is play the originals, simple as that.

What?! I have bad memories of 4 - just blatant killroom after killroom, with nothing interesting happening. Compared to 4, 1, 2, and 5 had amazing setpieces. (I haven't played 3 yet.)
Looking forward to an Ultimate Edition on PS5, would love to replay the series.
I really hope for couch-coop or system link (is there something system link between 2 PS5 to play games offline but on two consoles?)
