So true. It would explain why Microsoft didn't bother making their own Pro version for their console - with the disgustingly awful sales Xbox Series has, Microsoft probably say "Screw This" and decide to become a third-party publisher, and rather pour their resources into making Pro Enhanced versions of their games as they'll get more money than making their own Pro console.

Well there was a chart showing the income breakdown for MS published games.

Xbox and PC hardware combined was 36% while PS was 64% - nearly the value of Xbox and PC combined via PS.

From MS perspective why push water uphill? Sony are a consumer electronics company, let them make that hardware and take the risk. It's not like the battle for living room that inspired the OG Xbox is still raging. Those days are gone.

I actually envy all the people who will be playing these campaigns for the first time. There were some truly unforgettable moments in the story. OG Gears fans know what I mean!

The only gears game I liked was 3 (I think it was three). The one that released with 3d display support…that was a blast to play through with a buddy!

The last one I didn’t even finish..maybe 2 hours into it or so.

Looks like a good value for the folks that have never played or the ones that want to play them again! Win, Win, and a third Win*.

Nadella is smart. He doesn't want to do new hardware. He's going to push hardware sales so low that no argument can be made to continue hardware sales.

If Halo MCC and Gears Trilogy hit PS5 and particularly PS5 Pro before GTA6 come out, then yeah, the XBS won't sell a million units this year.

If at the end of this generation sony hits 130 million units on PS5 and the XBS hits 30 million... yeah, there won't be new hardware regardless of what the Lies of P says.

Don't even bother with MP really, the amount of insane movement these sweats have makes it pretty much impenetrable to get into; you either have been playing since 360 and have mastered the movement, or you get fucking slaughtered.

Sounds like a sweet package, but I'm a little dubious that they would port the multiplayer. It's a distraction from the GaaS market they would expect to mine. (Yes, yes, GaaS = bad, but business is business.) Co-op multi needs to be there, but the other multi mode would make more financial sense (and player count sense) if they did/do them as their own thing.

Halo Anniversary (I think this is how that one worked, if I remember right? ) made new multi features based on maps from the old games, and that could work, but even that is from a bygone era; a standalobe Gears Multiplayer app with DM and Beasts would make a little more sense to me as something they could build on.
