Leunam: OK, pole, most laps led, probably the fastest lap, and of course the win: What is going through the mind of Lucius86 right now?
Lucius86: Right now, I am a bit shocked I did so well at Monaco - I didn't expect to be at the top of the pile, but I had a great qualifying session that allowed me to miss the troubles in the first few corners. The team did a fantastic job once again with giving me a car that was so much fun to drive.
Leunam: How did you manage to pull away so quickly this time? You didn't have a great start in Melbourne...
Lucius86: We found out what went wrong with the start last week - the clutch proved a sticking point so we have done a bit of work on it to make sure we had a cleaner get away for this race - thankfully the work paid off.
Leunam: Being in pole, and lapping everyone at least once, you must have seen your share of incidents. How did you manage to avoid almost every parked car?
Lucius86: Luck. A healthy dose of it. The stewards appeared to make some very odd decisions today, but thankfully none for me today.
Leunam: The season continues in Montreal. It's quite the opposite of Monaco, are you expecting a similar result there?
Lucius86: I didn't at Monaco, but I managed to get a win! I think we just need to take each race a step at a time, and hopefully the team can continue their good work to Canada. We shouldn't get too ahead of ourselves here, as it's only two races gone - I am sure everyone is keen to up their game for Montreal.
Leunam: Went up from third in qualies to second in the race, how are you feeling right now?
Salacious Crumb: Pretty great, especially after the shocking first corner where I was shunted into the armco and knocked back to 12th, to come back and finish 2nd is an amazing feeling, and to do so in such tricky conditions is especially satisfying.
Leunam: Obviously there were a lot of incidents on the track, where there any that you were involved in that really set you back later? Or were there incidents that you were able to capitalize on?
Salacious Crumb: Fortunately I was able to stay out of most of the trouble on track and in doing so was able to grab a few critical places early on, I think Id gained 3 or 4 places by the end of the first lap. In a way the first corner incident was a blessing for me, It meant I had enough time to assess and maneuver my way through some pretty nasty accidents.
Leunam: Any insight into your setup for the race in Montreal?
Salacious Crumb: As its a bit of a point and squirt track I definitely wont be running with much downforce, but I havent had much time on the circuit yet so I cant give you any specifics. Needless to say the team and I will be hard at work over the next few days to make sure the car is as good as it can be for the race weekend.
Leunam: So second on the grid and third on the podium, you're off to a good start this season. Any initial thoughts on how the race went?
Animal: It is a good start but we can do much better. The race was quite hectic and I made several mistakes which cost us a lot of time. Also I had contact with a couple of cars on the first laps and lost my front wing. When I came back out I was all alone on the track and I just focused on putting good steady laps. I eventually past most of the field and got to 3rd.
Leunam: Passed as in, made your way around cars that spun out?
Animal: A couple yes but I was putting in some fast times all alone on the track and I ended passing most of them when they pitted.
Leunam: Do you have any insight into your setup for the race in Montreal?
Animal: Well Montreal is a track with very long straights so I expect us to be running a setup which maximizes straight line speed
Leunam: You've clearly done well enough to qualify and finish at the top, what do you think you can do to put you at the top of the podium?
Animal: I believe I need to make less mistakes and not get into contact with other cars in the first laps.
