The price difference is actually negligable here. So I think it's very much worth it.
I do think that it is far better than the Fable 2 LE which was just $10 more but barely had anything of value.

I went with LE simply because it sounds like there are 1 or 2 areas to explore that are not available in the SE. Hopefully, those extras along with the weapon are worth $20....

Hmmm, saying that outloud kind of makes me think I should get the standard. :lol

I hate missing gameplay stuff in an LE. I will pass on all the physical trinkets in the world, but a new quest and extra zone for one of my 17 wives? Too good to pass up. :D

I bought the Fable paperback book last night at Barnes and Noble. Now I am looking at the LE Strategy Guide on Amazon. Someone stop me!! :lol

I had to go with the LE version, you get a different dog. At least it is a real LE unlike Fable 2's sad excuse of one.

I broke down and pre-ordered the LE as well. It's definitely better than the Fable 2 LE which I really liked (the Master Chief suit was awesome). I'm thinking of buying the guide, too. I've started collecting guides lately. *hugs preciosu Halo: Reach Legendary Guide*

Oh wow. I had no idea that the European release had a better LE. Now I'm jealous. :P

It didn't, we had the same garbage (DLC cards and cardboard slipcase). That's either a press kit or what the LE version was going to be prior to everything being cut.

Amazon 20 dollar gift card on the regular but not the LE. :/ So it is ends up being a 40 dollar difference.

Did the Fable 2 CE content get put onto Xbox Live?

The $20 credit is also on the LE, I missed it the first time I read through all the stuff. Read through all the preorder perks.

This is true! It's the main reason why I pre-ordered from Amazon. Really wish that had been assigned a better weapon and tattoo as a pre-order item though.

Looks like Amazon is no longer taking pre-orders for the LE - it ships from Target now, and there's no $20 bonus credit.

I wasn't even planning on buying this, but after watching the intro movie and seeing there was still a $20 credit on the standard edition, I pre-ordered it. I enjoyed the previous two games quite a bit, warts and all. I love the style of the Fable world, so I'm willing to take a chance on this one.

What does the crown tribal thing with the controller look like?

Might dust it off my xbox to play this seeing as the PC version is delayed.

+ Improved graphics: variety of environments is pretty staggering; still some blurriness.
+ Some of the new fighting moves are bad-ass; Road to Rule is an interesting level up mechanic.
+ Game interface streamlined for the better; Sanctuary makes doing new quests, getting to places quick and easy.
+ Music is good as last one, a lot of familiar tunes. Exceptional voice work.
+ Humor is excellent, game is genuinely funny. Lionhead love them some chickens.
+ Loading times are super fast, even without the game installed. (Fallout take note!)
+ Character customization is better, plus your character speaks now.

- Some wonky enemy AI and animations (characters getting stuck on shit)
- Ran into two or three game-breaking bugs after only 8 hours of play.
- Don't care for the extra menu it takes when you interact with people.
- Holding hands mechanic is incredibly buggy/

Literally game breaking (i.e. You can't progress further), or just major (like screwing up quests etc)?

Can't speak properly on the game because of embargo but Stephen Fry is fucking brilliant once more in this.
Hopefully his character gets a more prominent role this time. It was a real shame that a man of his talent was only given the part of a character you met an hour before the end of the game.

- got stuck in a dig site, couldn't move. it's possibly that fast travelled would have saved me (didn't think of this).
- game-breaking one where i put something into a door for the main quest and nothing happened, couldn't progress.
- third is i was supposed to escort dude by holding hands and he wouldn't do it.

For those wondering if the game is good or not, I've put in about 8 hours so far hehe. More impressions later.
how are things on the technical side, compared to fable 2 (framerate, tearing, pop-ups)?
fable 2 had some big problemsin these areas.

I also got that LE of Fable II (with cards and Hobbe figurine).
Ended giving it to a friend that's a better collectors than me.

Which is why I ended not getting the LE for this game. I love the different package, the exclusive DLC things; but then I finish the game and end with those extra things just there looking pretty inside their boxes. :lol :lol

But who knows, maybe I'll change my mind this Tuesday. :lol

no tearing or frame-rate problems at all yet. pop-in can be pretty bad though. and loading is great like i mentioned.

can you describe the pop-in? is it texture pop-in or do objects appear out of nowhere?

The loading is probably the best news yet. Fable has always been a really fun game but it was hurt by some weird movement and loading issues that made things less fun. I still loved Fable 2 despite that.

ice skating is gone too woohoo

The only part that bothers me is the blurriness. I think F2 could be an attractive game, but the blurriness astounds me..and if any is in III...I don't know why they wouldn't remove it. This day and age we love crisp graphics. Fable 2 looked like I was playing it on my Wii or something at times. I think it's the only 360 game out there that looks like this. I don't know WTF Lionhead did, maybe spilled some mayo on the code or something, but F2 really disappointed me in that regard. I even traded it in and bought another copy....4 times in the past 2 years, thinking it maybe was a bad print. But no.

The streams I've seen on justin.tv don't look like they have anything wrong with them, so I hope that's the case.

And I'm screwed...Gamefly shipped me Halo Reach (I should have removed it from my queue damn it) so I have no free slots open for Fable 3. Well, I WOULD if Gamefly would receive my game. Shipped it out 5+days ago and still nothing. It's going to screw me and I'm really irritated with their service lately.

I had no problems with Fable II visuals. The blurriness I think was more related to the excessive amount of bloom-lighting rather than actual blurriness.

2 more pros and one con:

+ there is an amazing game within a game quest that is downright hysterical.
+ cities are HUGE; there are lots of them and each is different and unique in its own way.
- your character get stuck SO often in geometry, it's absurd. (my dog was just stuck inside a tree)

I don't know about Fable II specifically, but the blur was probably an attempt to get smooth edges without the performance hit of true anti-aliasing.

The map system looks amazing from the stream. The way it looks and sounds and how quick it is to load. Plus you can go to every house and handle the finances from the map.

It had 2x MSAA so who knows.

looks janky as all hell. in the twenty mins i've been watching 3 enemies have gotten stuck in the environment (accompanied by a constant audio thudding) and several enemies with their backs turned didn't engage the player until he was breathing on them.
